Discussion Deadlock just reached a new all-time peak of 300k 22 hours ago

Keep in mind that this game isn't even out yet and has zero marketing, purely spreading via word of mouth.

still takes me ages to find a game in the EU. sitting here on a saturday night. 10 min queue at best

261

u/Amazing-Custard-2552 Drifter 9h ago

i think that is for the avoided heros. i try ramdon hero and i get matches in seconds

43

u/yar2000 5h ago

Even queueing 35 different characters with a friend (he also has like 40 selected) I still had a 9 minute queue today in unranked (EU, 22:00). Its kinda crazy sometimes. Maybe we are in brick -7 MMR or something.

105

u/nemorime 9h ago

Has to be your hero pool, then? Unless you are some very high rank.

I sit in oracle and have ~3-4 min average, which I think is still too high.

10

u/ShadowNick Rem 8h ago

Normally I have 12 characters selected and that's just for standard. My friends though when I play with them have 3 to 4 heroes selected and it takes about 8 to 10 minutes for a match in NA

7

u/WhenAmI 6h ago

I play at the worst off hours every day in NA and I rarely wait that long. 5-7minute queues after 3am eastern with 3 heroes selected. 8-10 minute queues during normal hours is crazy.

3

u/slimeddd 5h ago

Queue times for us get up there in NA, but we usually play with like 5 people with pretty varying skill levels so I assumed thats why it was bad for us

0

u/ShadowNick Rem 4h ago

We did 5 people once took 18 mins at peak EU

-6

u/qurplex 6h ago

Why would hero pool matter? When I play with friends we sit there for 5-10 min minimum and all have 5+ characters selected

1

u/AquaBits 1h ago

Idk why people act like a hero pool matters. I consistently only have 3 characters selected and I get in matches within 3-4 minutes. Its not like if i had the entire roster down Id match in less than that.

I think "avoid"ing a hero might effect queue times but I really doubt having a small roster effects it.

1

u/qurplex 1h ago

I was just wondering why our queues are so long stop downvoting me😭

25

u/Krasovchik Abrams 9h ago

if it’s ranked that’s probably why. all these new players are really new from what i can tell and the 45 match wins is a hurdle for people coming from marvel rivals and overwatch which seems to be the overwhelming majority

7

u/M8OnCrack 8h ago

Yeah Overwatch ranked I can get in a game 1-2 minutes Rivals ranked it’s around 30 seconds, but that’s also because there’s no role queue.

2

u/SlammedOptima Haze 1h ago

I mean its a hurdle for everyone I think. 30 min matches, and probably a 50/50 win rate and needing 60 wins not 45. Thats probably 60 hours before you get into ranked. I think thats a good thing, but it does mean new players wont be in the ranked queue for quite some time.

0

u/FroopyAsRain 3h ago

This is true.

I wonder if the long matches are going to remain as part of the game's identity or if they'll try and make games easier to end quicker with some adjustments to keep it more accessible. People have less and less time for continuous non-pausable games nowadays what with the aging player base.

-21

u/Tyr_ranical 8h ago

It's 60 match wins...The 45 match wins are 15 wins with 3 different heros (these can obviously be combined)

And frankly, 60 wins is far too high a requirement for new players to be able to enter into ranked.

11

u/Krasovchik Abrams 8h ago

i think the goal at THIS stage is to make sure ranked is balanced around ā€œgood playersā€ before they bring the requirements down to more players. the game is fun enough and the rank doesn’t actually matter since it’s not even an open beta yet, they may just say ā€œyeah if you REALLY want to play ranked you gotta earn itā€ so they get all their data from the playerbase who ARE going to stick around and not just pop in while it’s trendy.

but i agree, as a permanent function, 60 wins is wild. even Leagues level 30 to play ranked isn’t that bad

1

u/SureIntention8402 7h ago

But the game isn't even released yet. It should NOT be this long.

-2

u/Tyr_ranical 8h ago

I can definitely see your point and perspective here, but standard is currently very imbalanced and it's completely normal to see people with stats like 0/14/X because not only are they still trying to learn the game, but they are against people who are just drastically more skilled than them.

Ranked allows people to get properly placed and play around their skill level (people will say standard has hidden MMR but as above, the balancing is terrible), and when you see the amount of hours you are going to have to put into this game to even learn how to play it, and then get to the point where you have 60 wins on top of that... It definitely feels like it's far too much for a large portion of gamers.

2

u/libero0602 7h ago

Yes, 9/10 of my last standard games (as a new player) I had TWO teammates going 0/10+. I wasn’t doing amazing either, I’d go maybe 2/0 in my lane before the enemy is so fed, my final KD ends up being smth like 3/9 as well…

It’s so insanely hard to actually win games, I think it’s gonna take forever to unlock ranked:(

I even had a 22/2/20 game on Vindicta, I soloed both the enemy shrines and 75% of the hidden king’s hp, only to finally go down (taking 2 with me), only to watch my team lose a 5v4 and get our own base wiped. I had to take a 2-day break after that one🫩

1

u/Krasovchik Abrams 8h ago

i think any ā€œtasteā€ of this game is beneficial to valve. again, it’s a closed playtest right now, they’re not worrying about retention they’re worrying about making a good product. so if people bounce off it, as long as there is a small pool of committed players and content creators, which there will be the game is just too addictive and skill expressive and a very popular content and streaming game, when the game finally comes the people who tried it and said ā€œit’s too unbalancedā€ will try it again. Valve loves playing the long game.

3

u/CarlFromHungerForce8 Deadman Danny 8h ago

I'd be fine with 50 but 60 is not crazy high at all. Dota 2 is double that or more. It should be the try-hard mode for dedicated players

7

u/Punchinballz 7h ago

2 min max in asia (Japan) but I started 2 weeks ago. Am I playing against bots? Someone won and said "eZ" so I thought other players were humans

2

u/Da_damm 5h ago

I play In Japan as well. There’s a lot of people playing on the Honk Kong servers, and I often get matched with NA people there as well.

1

u/HumanTest6885 6h ago

Not unless you click play against bots

1

u/argENTvm_ 2h ago

A lot of people play on japan or other asian servers actually

16

u/rrburnerr Dynamo 9h ago

Thats because even with these numbers theres still only 10-20k players that are actually good at the game

2

u/Ok_Astronomer_8667 9h ago

You have a fucked up roster most likely. I’ve sat in a 10 minute queue, and the second I changed priority on one hero, it put me in a lobby

1

u/mithhunter55 54m ago

Could be you would have found a match at that same moment if you stayed in queue though.

2

u/HurriKurtCobain 9h ago

Chastised my friends for having only three heroes selected, immediately got faster queues by having them pick 5 or 6 each

2

u/Caerullean Holliday 8h ago

Interesting. I've never went beyond 5 minutes, and even 5 minutes is long. Most are less than a minute thirty. But I also don't play ranked, so could be why.

3

u/-TheTrueOG- 9h ago

Bro i live east coast of america and get games from the west coast with +100 ping!!!

With 15+ minute wait times!!!

4

u/MRBloop3r 9h ago

it's a 50min match, pool should be small, also if the game is that long that I would prefer a long search for a good quality match.

20

u/fiddysix_k 9h ago

Who's playing 50 minute matches out here

31

u/ssou_art 9h ago

low elo players get over with their laning phases and than proceed to run around like headless chickens for an hour trying to figure out how are they gonna end the game

7

u/nemorime 9h ago

bricklo players

2

u/AquaBits 1h ago

Happens from time to time because of the god awlful matchmaking this game has.

For everyone who says there shouldnt be a surrender option has never had a match where the less skilled side edges out on rifts/waves/other catchup mechanics, but not actually succeed in winning a match.

It ertainly drag a match out past the 50 minute mark

2

u/SummertimeGladness_ 9h ago edited 8h ago

I know I’m in the minority here but I’m glad I switched to street brawl. Fast ques and short matches, lets me try all the new heroes fairly quickly.

curious on why the downvotes, i guess people mad i played a whole match while they are still in que.

4

u/DasFroDo 5h ago

Street Brawls balance state is fucking horrendous right now. There’s several almost instawin items and a bunch of heroes that have 60%+ WR. Also AoE slop basically always wins.

4

u/HeeHaw702 5h ago

As a new player street brawl has been an extremely valuable learning tool. Not sure why these people insist I immediately start griefing standard games lmao.

1

u/FroopyAsRain 3h ago

I wonder if most people are playing Brawl for the shorter, quicker paced games. Is there a way to see the pools for regular, ranked and Brawl modes?

0

u/jenrai Lash 7h ago

Because you're basically telling people to play a different game. It's the equivalent of saying "I'm glad I went and played TFT instead."

4

u/HeeHaw702 5h ago

Better analogy would be a summoners rift player switching to ARAM. Yours is absolute nonsenseĀ

-1

u/emceerez 42m ago

TFT, ARAM, street brawl. All better tbh

1

u/Skill-Useful 9h ago

who are you trying to play? i have 3-4 heroes in my rotation all the time and if its 5 mins im already annoyed bc its so long. and i mostly even queue with one teammate which should make it worse

1

u/Suas--Madra 9h ago

I get matches usually in 3-5 but I play a lot of low pick heroes just cuz I happen to like em so that's probably why

0

u/mothergosky6767 7h ago

stopped playing becauze even standard is 10+ min queues every single time. NA east btw. would rather just fill my free time elsewhere. I even missed the afk screen twice recently then had to wait another 10. just cba

122

u/aidsincarnate Venator 9h ago

I wonder what the retention is gonna be like. Pre CNS it was about 70-100k peak daily. I wonder how many of these new players will stick.

92

u/No-Bid9597 9h ago edited 6h ago

Dota has managed to hold onto about 650k* for the past several years, about 40% of its peak, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Deadlock had more as this game is a bit more accessible in terms of familiarity and lore. At the same time, finding out what a commitment it is may be a quit moment for many.

Edit: I thought it was 400k but it was more than that hence the asterisk

60

u/BrotherPoet 9h ago

Dota players are different breed.

Many people have been following that genre, and that particular game for the best part of 25 years.

I’m really interested in the crossover of Dota 2 players that have become supplemental or full-time Deadlock players.

I’ve got 3,000 hours of Dota 2 logged and I’m all in on Deadlock now.

28

u/No-Bid9597 9h ago

Lol I have almost 13,000 hours and stopped about 1k mmr into immortal. Deadlock is just as cognitively demanding but the macro is 100x easier to keep track of, it's more of a skill thing, so it feels fresh. So, same.

12

u/BrotherPoet 9h ago

I think there’ll always be period where I go back to Dota 2 but I sort of transitioned into more of a shooty guy anyway so having a MOBA that also benefits from me being a shit hot aimer has been brilliant.

8

u/No-Bid9597 9h ago

Lol I can't aim worth a shit. That is why I play Graves. Fruit fly city for me.

6

u/raizen19 9h ago

With 13k hours in dota too, deadlock is more intense and the uptime of action is higher. You can't click base and go hands off even one second ... And yeah the macro is "easier"

10

u/No-Bid9597 9h ago

Yeah but if you die lategame you can go for a piss since you don't need to watch for buyback. Good tradeoff for me. Agree with you though.

4

u/raizen19 8h ago

It makes for a more tiring experience imho...

Still great tho, this is dota3 pretty much

1

u/Easy-Guess9147 Lady Geist 2h ago

Dota3D, left dota fully for deadlock for now since it scratches the same itch but positive sides like you mentioned (9kh indota)

3

u/Novel_Dog_676 6h ago

Yeah idk this is the same issue for me. Maybe I’m just getting old but this game is incredibly demanding mechanically. Dota is more complex just given the amount of heroes and skills but Deadlock is definitely more of a sweat and not necessarily in a good way

14

u/CodySkillzBrah 9h ago

Im in the exact same boat played dota for years but ive made the switch to deadlock feels like the dota beta days all over again and its awesome

4

u/BrotherPoet 9h ago

Yeah being back in at the ground floor like back in 2011 feels nice, even if it’s the world’s worst kept secret club at this point!

5

u/Altruistic_Army_7367 9h ago

I am one of these people

2

u/SeboFiveThousand 8h ago

3k Dota-head here as well

I will be playing both for some time, but I do think Dota 2 is an actual opiate of some description, will be playing that until my deathbed most likely

2

u/BrotherPoet 8h ago

Dota 2 will never fully let me go, partly because I just really enjoy that perspective of game sometimes and the latest ARPGs never quite grip me the same.

1

u/SeboFiveThousand 7h ago

For me it's just the endless depth and complexity, as far as a competitive online game goes it's by far my favourite!

1

u/False_Ideal_5140 6h ago

I was once top 1500 NA like 6-7 years ago and I stopped playing like 4-5 years ago and I have 12k hours and have the lowest hours out of all of my friends who I played dota with, they all have like 22k+ hours

1

u/rnflposter 51m ago

I had 13k hours in dota. Stopped playing dota 2 around the time when Shiv came out and been playing deadlock ever since. The game just feels fresher to me and i like the lack of roles in this moba. Everybody farms!

6

u/TDio 7h ago

dude, dota has just had a 1 million 24 hour peak in this month lol its retention is way better than you think even after all these years

3

u/Xaephos Rem 6h ago

Well, 800k. Genuinely 1/5th of the playercount is bots in the arcade trying to catch a whale on some mobile game slop, let alone whatever bots are playing the actual game.

Still pretty high retention though.

1

u/TDio 5h ago

yeah it's legitimately crazy retention, if anything I'm more so surprised it got more popular again recently cause its peaks have been increasing again recently

5

u/Kunfuxu Mina 6h ago

Dota has had 900k daily peaks for a while now. It never dipped below 600k since 2013 when it first crossed it, idk where you pulled this 400k number from. This year that number has been consistently hovering at 850k daily peak concurrents.

1

u/No-Bid9597 6h ago

Damn you're right I dunno what I was smoking either. Will edit

1

u/DoubleSpoiler 4h ago

I think considering the game is both Dota3 and Valve's new Source2 modding base, I think it's going to do very, very, very well.

1

u/ginger6616 4h ago

I expect around 100k to 150k

1

u/throwawaynewpibuildr Sinclair 2h ago

Probably not as much as we think. I've seen more "casual gamers" takes, and a lot of them are "i like the art direction and characters, but i don't wanna play a moba"..

36

u/Krasovchik Abrams 9h ago

it’s really big on tik tok rn i expect it to keep growing because of needing to know someone to get in. Especially once nurse harrow is in and the amount of deadman danny combo vids that are gonna come out in the next 3 months.

5

u/ginger6616 4h ago

Funny how many comments are ā€œhow do I play thisā€? If the game wasn’t in closed beta I bet it would be like 400k

1

u/Gombrongler 2h ago

Why is it in closed beta if it can handle these numbers?

1

u/JukeBoxz321 1h ago

Because the game isn't complete. It's really simple.

1

u/cg_dev0 Calico 25m ago

Valve wants to present the game to the public in an official way once they feel it is polished enough.

-1

u/wowwingmunch 2h ago

It is kind of alluring icl

2

u/ginger6616 11m ago

Because valve never asked or promoted that number. It’s purely passion and love from the community raising the number that high. In another universe, it would still have around 2k players like back in early 2024

1

u/Pestilancer 7h ago

141

u/Amazing-Custard-2552 Drifter 9h ago

dead god, standard must be a chaos

80

u/konyachella 8h ago

it really is. the matches aren't really enjoyable since there's a bunch of people in the lobby who have no clue of what is happening. of course they have the right to enjoy the game and learn from scratch, but quality of the matches still dropped drastically

48

u/LeonMotton 8h ago

Can't really complain about it. I mean when I first started, I geniunely had to stop to read an item and abilities descriptions because I forgot what they do. The newbies are still discovering the game. We should our best to help them with it.

1

u/konyachella 21m ago

oh, don't get me wrong, i absolutely agree! it's a blessing in disguise that the game gets more popular each day and we totally should help out the newbies, not blame them

that being said, it's still frustrating play one-sided games, no matter if you win or lose. we need an update on a matchmaking system, since it teams up the newbies next to more advanced players

7

u/josephjts 7h ago

I get Street Brawl is the haha 4fun game mode but when I have 300 hours and (what I would consider) a high win rate I should almost never see a new player especially when its the place new players are directed to. Surely with an average of like 200k players we can find other new players (or newer then I am) to put them against? I guess I dont KNOW if some are new, returning or just bad but I have had a few state its their first game.

So many games in the last 2 weeks or so just feel like their decided by what team is playing a 3v4 due to bad MM or what team has more imbalanced characters (but that's its own separate issue).

6

u/TheCoolestGuy098 Billy 4h ago

I actually realized if I wanna be winning more in standard to get to ranked, I have to really coach the obviously new players. Granted, I'm only about 80 matches in and I'm far from 'good,' but I have to remind myself that not everybody realizes how bad it is to dive the 6-0 carry alone while you're 3k behind.

1

u/Amazing-Custard-2552 Drifter 3h ago

in Tf2 they tried with a coach system, it failed.

i wonder if valve is gonna try again with coach mode

1

u/Easy-Guess9147 Lady Geist 2h ago

Nah just split push lol thats how ive been winning at least lol. We are winning but everyone just afk fights mid, last game i went solo end the game and literally no one backed to def base

2

u/John2k12 40m ago

I'm trying to get my 15 rem/paige wins for ranked and it's brutal how some games are just running around in circles for 45 mins until death timers get so long that the first team to get wiped loses the whole base. I especially spend a lot of time counterpushing empty sidelanes lol

0

u/Rough_Lychee5785 Grey Talon 3h ago

Yea it's awful. As an emissary pro player, I feel like I'm playing in dirt when I queue standard. These people have 0 game sense, they play like marvel rivals players

1

u/AquaBits 1h ago

Why the toxicity? You didnt know how to play the game when you first started either.

1

u/Rough_Lychee5785 Grey Talon 40m ago

It was sarcastic. That's why I said emissary pro

17

u/Octopus_on_fire_ 7h ago

I played a game last night with all new people on it. One of them it was literally their first game ever playing, and they picked Solomon. Poor guy went 0-16.

It was shockingly close because the other team also had new people, and it came down to essentially me (infernus) against a cracked out REM.

It was basically a 1v1 the entire game with all the new people doing god knows what. We both ended the game with 30k souls each, and the rest of our team at around 14k. It was funny, but the game was over in about 20 minutes.

10

u/Ok_ResolvE2119 7h ago

"Breaking news! Jezebel's Infernus fights disturbingly powerful dream child and nearly destroys the Cursed Apple in the process!"

5

u/Amazing-Custard-2552 Drifter 7h ago

Solomon as a first pick? poor guy, even me still don“t undertand solomon at 100%

8

u/LeonMotton 7h ago

Solomon abilities only takes around 5 minutes to fully understand. They are quite simple actually. The hard part comes from his unique playstyle.

5

u/Amazing-Custard-2552 Drifter 6h ago

spam them is easy, choosing where and when is the hard choice

3

u/Kelby091 4h ago

The hard part is to not accidentally move your shielded teammate forward to their death when trying to move a bishop instead.

4

u/Carp3l Haze 6h ago

Yeah… I just had one of those and went 1-14, like I’m sorry team but I’m playing normal, watched a beginners guide, and am trying my best. I’ve played 3 games since coming back for the first time since 2024 and I feel awful for dragging my teammates down.

Being constantly called slurs and having people pause before ending the game isn’t very enjoyable either.

2

u/AquaBits 1h ago

The toxicity is extremely annoying, believe me. I hope valve actually adresses it soon but knowing how they left their other games to rot, I doubt it

7

u/TheUnit70 8h ago

I have 5 more games to win before I escape

3

u/nasaboy007 6h ago

I played one game for the first time in like.. 2? years last week and I guess I grabbed some new mechanic in the map. Teammate was like "are you gonna use (something, ancient maybe?)" and I was like I don't even know what that is.

Mfw 200h+ played.

I'm a new player with the high mmr of an old player, so apologies in advance.

2

u/Ok_ResolvE2119 7h ago

No one knows how to parry. It's wild.

1

u/Symetrie 6h ago

Yes. The game is still fun imo because it's Deadlock, but having a guy ragequit at 20 min feela just horrible

-3

u/Spader623 9h ago

Help... Me....

I just wanna try ranked and so many of my games are just people who don't know how to play. I get it I do but man... I'm close šŸ™ got the 60 wins and 15 on one almost two characters...

30

u/Trowaway151 8h ago

Bro you’re 60 games in. YOU are the people that don’t know how to play.

11

u/konyachella 8h ago

not really tho. newbies basically don't leave the lane stage whilst average player who already played 50 games already has at least an idea of what's happening here. it's a noticeable difference

4

u/DanClypse Deadman Danny 7h ago

You know win rate is meant to be around 50%, right? You can be 2000 hours in and still get stuck in a loss streak by mere chance, especially when there's a huge wave of new players. It's not fair to call them a deadweight outright.

4

u/Spader623 8h ago

I don't disagree but id argue there's levels and I'm past newbie stage, plus alwady have moba experience while some of the newbies just flounder

No shade to them but I want the option of ranked and I want it baaaaaad.. So it's rough when I lose because they're new

16

u/ItsWorkinOrange 6h ago

Cool, I wait in 10 min queues every match tho in us central

2

u/Sudden-Zone-5982 6h ago

If you’re a newer account matchmaking will take longer. Same if you are using an old account but haven’t played in awhile.

7

u/Mrhappyfeet56 6h ago

I have 260 hours and was ascendant before the ranked changes. Still 10 minutes queues for normal matches (which is all we play)

3

u/Smokinya 5h ago

That's crazy work. If I queued standard right now I'd be in a match within 1-2 mins. My ranked queues are usually that fast as well at Ritualist VI.

1

u/SupremeTeamKai 4h ago

Solo queue or group? I solo and I've never waited longer than 5 on off peak hours. I'd imagine it would be longer with a group

1

u/siverskaya 4h ago

Varies wildly depending on how many people you queue with and how big a difference in rank/MMR there is in the group. Larger group with wider spread = basically impossible job for matchmaking

2

u/ItsWorkinOrange 6h ago

I have 100 matches played in the last month, this is a sudden shift that began over the last few weeks. Not a new accnt, been on the game since first alpha. Think something is wack with their MMing right now. Many of my friends also having issues with queue times.

1

u/Phrog_19 6h ago

What rank are you

9

u/Deep_Calendar_1712 8h ago

Hopping back on after half a year off (and not since beta) and it’s fun but there’s so many counter items I have tot him about compared to before and I can’t keep up with what to buy šŸ˜ž

3

u/MrDad83 8h ago

I had this problem when I jumped back in. Luckily there are user guides built in so you can have an idea what to buy

2

u/Deep_Calendar_1712 6h ago

Yeah I read the guides but during the game I’m not sure which to sell for counters items and what to keep vs who. Just have to get more experience fighting in game haha

1

u/Barca_4_Life 4h ago

Counterspell dispel magic and curse cover like every situation if you can’t counter everything

7

u/Saanarias Abrams 8h ago

We’ve broken all time peaks with every character release this patch but rat king, and then only because he was competing with the new map patch 3 days before him, and he tied that one.

62

u/Darkjolly 9h ago

Violet effect, take that haters

5

u/The_Lord_Of_Spuds 6h ago

every single one of the new character drops brought a new peak playercount shes not special

20

u/andreasmalersghost 8h ago

ā€œworst character ever in the history of anythingā€ drops….record player count. Methinks the chud takes are vocal and yet, minority opinion.

5

u/Sunny_sunshine_1 8h ago

they dropped 6 characters, I don't know if it's for violet specifically, maybe people look at baba or rat king and say "oh they are cool I'll try the game"

18

u/zencharm Victor 7h ago

to be fair, the player count has spiked with every new hero release and this is the biggest one, so she’s probably having some impact on it

6

u/Dangerous-Return5937 6h ago

Every hero release had the biggest spike up until the next one dropped lol.

6

u/zencharm Victor 6h ago

that’s my point. every time a new hero comes out the game gets more players who want to try it. why would violet be exempt from this?

1

u/Quijas00 5h ago

Did Danny outperform Solomon’s release?

yes, I've checked every character drop since six hero's to track it for me and my friends and the player count always hits a new high since OGNB for each individual drop.

totally valid. just a funny coincidence

Chud is when character is boring and the most basic collection of stereotypes ever with nothing else. Not even a "but she's a painter mage!"

Probably all the new players that got attracted by Solomon breaching containment and moist playing the game hopping on for their first hero drop. Not sure how this could be the result of violet coming into the game when she is second last

The Violet effect is her avoiding deadlast by the the hair of her brush.

I’m seeing a lot of talk and praise about the game on social media. Reminds me a bit of Valorant’s growth when it first launched.

I was playing it on and off before the latest update, now it’s all I want to play. It’s incredibly good, can’t stop.Ā

Most big deadlock streamers or content creators give out invites to anybody who asks in their discords

Got yelled at by a dude playing baba yesterday.
Yelled at the whole team for pushing yellow and trading 2 for 4, (us only losing 2)then when confronted about him being 2-10 13 minutes in he played the victim line of ā€œgod forbid I’m trying a new characterā€ ā€œat least I’m trying stuffā€ to which I asked ā€œcould you tell me just 1 example of the stuff you’re tryingā€ to which I then got served an honestly impressive amount of different slurs.
Unfortunately with the bigger player base you have more CODtards and battletards showing up and wondering why they can’t just ā€œtap headsā€

they have a really strict 30 day chat ban for voice/text abuse, so just mute and move on. people who hate this game will leave, assholes will get banned eventually, and those who love the game will stay!

I could genuinely never tell with how long matchmaking takes. Consistent 6-10 min queues.

It's been like this since OGNB so I wonder if it's ever getting fixed.

Violet Sweep

1

u/Apprehensive_Tone_55 3h ago

Just started this week. 60 games to unlock ranked feels like a slog, teammates don’t take the game seriously and everyone’s always leaving matches early :/ also idk why I get 10 minute queue times in standard with no character priority! Super fun though.

If something record breaking happened 22 hours ago, you can safely assume we already know about it

That says way more about you than anything else.

Try spending some time with family and friends every once in a while.

I wasn't in the pic last week, but I am now :D

1

u/pookshuman 3h ago

how does it have so many players if it is only open to playtesters?

3

u/Kaylavi 3h ago

Anybody who can play can invite you. Go on the discord

u/pookshuman 2h ago

5

u/JawndyBoplins 1h ago

That ain’t the only reason it’s like syphilis

b-but the learning curve!!!

-1

u/DuAbUiSai 2h ago

Is it good now? I left after they nerfed all the ultis to have long ass cooldowns and also cdr items.

1

u/ZealousidealWeb9930 2h ago

always has been, but the game is constantly evolving

1

u/Gemgamer 1h ago

The highest cooldown item is still 25%, and ults generally range from 70-200 seconds when fully upgraded, depending on strength. Still feels like they're up often enough to be a pain if someone has a good one, but also gives you a good bit of room to capitalize if you see someone has used it. Ults are also now shown at the top of the screen to everyone, so you can know who has theirs up or when it will be back.

This is genuinely one of the hardest games to learn and play, hope those new players are able to stuck it out
