We are not taught to have slaves and do genocides nor command us to be slaves for violent oppressers.
The bible is a bit more complex and it involves reading beyond literalism and reading holistically with good intention.

We are not in the old covenant: we do not folloow litsrally the old testament. But rather the old testament embeds knowledge about reality and ourselves and that christians through discernment applies in their spiritual life.
Matthew 5:38-48 does not say to be slaves for evil oppressors.
The point of beign christian is to find true fufillment, true perception and wisdom through following the teaching of christ.
Reading the bible is one thing. Understanding it is another. Reading the bible without context nor purpose in mind, reading it not holistically and without good intention and discerment lead to misconception and error.
