Hey -- got the opportunity to roadtrip down to the peninsula this weekend, staying in sw delaware... was wondering what the funnest, chill places to eat (nothing fancy, mostly like places that are mom-n-pop and do good hearty fare)/get a beer/hangout are and any things that are really must-see? I've driven thru before and liked the look of the area -- ALSO interests are mostly in being outside/nature/antiques not necessarily beach, but im not opposed to beach

A discussion in r/Virginia sparked the question of if there is competition/ rivalry between different areas in Delmarva.

Does it break by state lines?

Is there even any rivalry?

Or are yall just ready to secede from your states anyway and make your own state?

Is there rivalry between beaches? Do you see beaches in NC or NJ as competition?

Example of what I mean: Near DC, Northern Virginia and Maryland have some rivalry. Like, “Yeah, but then I’d have to go to [VA/MD]. Gross.” And always complaining about the other state’s drivers.

My ancestor, Daniel Eshom, arrived in Virginia in 1651/2 and established the Isham/Esham/Eshom line. My specific branch of the family remained in Snow Hill until after the 1870s, at which point they migrated to Kansas, then Oregon, and finally California.
