Any other PCOS sufferers here, need help with medication

Hi.

So basically I need spironolactone, but it’s not covered by my insurance. And it seems most pharmacies have the Pfizer brand only. Is there any other spiro brands here that aren’t aldactone (Pfizer) ? Its quite expensive cause one box is 20 pills and 19 dirhams per each box

📰 News Has golden visa criteria relaxed recently?

I have a basic salary less than 30k but gross above 45. Ive been hearing from amer centre agents that it isnt enough. But recently ive been seeing hearing from people and seeing posts where people have got golden visa with basic salary less than 30k. Have they relaxed the criteria recently?

Anyone else that have applied and got without minimum 30k basic or any agents that have updates about new rules here? Please share your thoughts

Al Shindagha Mall

Visited Al Ghubaiba today and I was surprised to find City Centre Al Shindagha has been renamed to Al Shindagha Mall. The mall used to be quite popular a couple of years back, but recently when I visited, I found it a bit desolate. It just works due to the Carrefour, Government Centre and Vox Cinemas (zero showtimes for Hollywood movies).

🍕 Food & Dining Meal plans under 2k

Hey everyone, I came across FitFood Factory and Sprint AE. Both seem to offer meal plans for under AED 2,000, including 3 meals, 2 snacks, a salad and a drink.
Has anyone tried them? How’s the food quality, portion sizes and overall service?
Calo, Right Bite and MOM seem quite expensive for similar plans. Are there any other good, affordable meal plans in Dubai that you’d recommend? Looking for some plans that'll help in weight gaining.

Don't know what to do

I am leasing an apartment in Satwa. It was undergoing a refurbishment and figured out there was leak coming from ceiling. Later found out that leak came from the above apartment. Already reported the problem to maintenance team but they didn't clear it out even after 10 days. We tried mailing to the building management team but they are not responding. I also tried messaging on of the person on the management company. She said maintenance team will handle it and when they were not able to solve and she stopped replying to my messages. Now I am stuck with an apartment which is flooded and most prolly walls and ceilings are damaged. We have 4 more month pending in the contract. I dont know what to do as I now it's been two weeks and still the problem is not solved.

🖐 Labor What is Dubai’s video production industry like for editors and post-production professionals?

Hi guys

I’m interested in learning more about Dubai’s video production and post-production industry, particularly the differences among real estate video editing, advertising and commercial work, and broadcast promos.

For those working in Dubai’s creative industry

How do editing workflows and opportunities differ across these areas?

Are most roles based in production houses, advertising agencies, real estate companies, or freelance studios?

Which skills are most valuable for editors looking to build a career in Dubai?

I’d appreciate hearing about your experiences and insights. Thanks!

🏠 Housing & Real Estate Landlord is keeping my deposit, what are my options?(im outside the country)

Earlier this year I moved into a shared student dorm as a working woman.

Rent was 3000 aed and the deposit for the first month was 500 aed.

I stayed there from jan 25th till march 7th.
For the second month i paid 3000 rent and 500 deposit again.

Once I left, I asked about my deposit and they said it would be returned in 21 days.

after waiting I asked about it again and they said they will send it during aug/sep.

When I asked in August they said September second week.

During September second week they said after September.

At this point I was completely over the whole situation and told him he has to send my deposit back immediately.

We had a few heated conversations and he said management would call me, after this he blocked me. I don't have any more contact information to contact him at. I have tried contacting their instagram and tiktok account, however they blocked me there as well.

I am in india, what are my options for getting my deposit back?

Dubai secondhand furniture?

Anyone know a way to buy fun pieces of furniture as nice and cool as Klekktic but second-hand? Love their stuff but it'd be too expensive to furnish my whole apartment using them only.

Would love any recs as well for shops similar to it that's a little more budget friendly.

🌍 Travel & Tourism UAE Visit Visa for Pakistani Passport Holder Living in Qatar – Recent Approvals?

Hi everyone,

I'm a 21-year-old Pakistani passport holder, born and raised in Qatar, with a valid Qatar ID under family sponsorship.

I'm planning to drive into the UAE for a short visit of just a few days to attend an event, for which I can provide an official invitation letter.

I'm currently a full-time university student in Qatar and can provide an enrolment letter, my father's QID (he has an established professional occupation), and financial supporting documents if required.

I've contacted several visa agencies, but the responses have been extremely mixed. Some say Pakistani visas aren't being approved, while others say approvals are still happening but are unpredictable.

I'm considering applying for a regular 14-day tourist visa rather than the GCC-resident entry permit, since my QID doesn't list an occupation.

Has anyone with a similar profile recently received a UAE visa approval?

I'd especially appreciate hearing:

  • Whether you applied for a regular tourist visa or GCC-resident visa.
  • Which agency or application channel you used.
  • Whether additional supporting documents helped.
  • Whether you entered the UAE by road rather than flying.

I'm aware approval is never guaranteed. Just looking for recent firsthand experiences before risking a nonrefundable application fee.

Thanks in advance!

🌇 Community Al Furjan - Public road safety- Master developer contacts or guidance?

Trying to seek if someone knows someone with the 6 degree of separation on who can help with the potential increase of accidents happening in the Furjan area with many news buildings but internal roads not having speed breakers or good visibility of cars coming out of buildings.

Who can I:
1) Reach out to or does anyone having experience solving this problem?
2) I had seen an accident and cannot get it out of my head which could’ve been easily avoided
3) RTA informed but they mention it’s master developer Nakheel
4) Master developer says roads are as per master plan but not investigating the actual risks, blind spots and huge potential risks.

What can one do in this situation?

Art House Cinema Censorship in UAE

Hello all. Wanted to understand cinema censorship in the UAE. Do art house cinemas here showcase movies with nudity, drug use and LGBTQ themes nowadays? I can see Cinema Akil has shown Old Boy before which has a lot of graphic sex

Sharing this beautiful image of Saturn captured by our team member, Arif Alblooshi, from Dubai!

It's always incredible to think that those rings are made up of countless pieces of ice and rock, and we're able to observe them from over a billion kilometres away.

Have you ever seen Saturn through a telescope? We'd love to hear about your experience!

Any recommendations for affordable shipping companies in the UAE? (AED 10–15 per delivery)

Hey everyone! I am a student running a small clothing business in the UAE, and I’m looking for a reliable and affordable courier company to deliver orders across all 7 Emirates within the range of 10-15 aed per delivery.

My previous shipping company has become too expensive and I’ve been having some issues with them, so I’m trying to find a better alternative. I have orders that I need to ship out soon, so I’d really appreciate any recommendations!

Package weight: Usually around 500 g to 1 kg max, as I mainly sell clothes.
Pickup: Home pickup would be ideal.
Cash on delivery (COD): Must be available.
Delivery time: Relatively fast delivery without taking too long.
Order volume: I’m a small business, so I might send around 5 parcels at a time, with roughly 10–30 parcels per month.

I’m mainly looking for a company that offers affordable rates for small businesses without requiring huge shipping volumes.

If you run a small business yourself or have experience with any courier companies in the UAE, please let me know who you use, how much they charge, and whether they’re reliable.
Any recommendations, advice, or contacts would be genuinely appreciated! I really need to find a good option soon. Thank you so much! 🙏

🏠 Housing & Real Estate Where can I find good, affordable furniture in Dubai?

I’m looking for a good quality sofa and bed at reasonable prices. Most places I’ve checked are either too expensive or don’t have the best quality.
I’m also looking for specific styles, so I’d love recommendations for stores with more interesting designs. Preferably new furniture, not secondhand.
Where should I look?
