Don’t post about tickets.

If you are looking to buy or sell concert tickets you are very likely to get scammed. It's as simple as that.

Don't buy tickets on Reddit, however desperate you are, it's a crazy risk. There are proper channels for resale of tickets, use them.

So if you post about selling tickets here we will remove the post and may ban you. Please don't do it.

Posting about Tickets, Accommodation, Tourism? Things that aren't related to Dublin? Read This First.

This subreddit is primarily for people who live in Dublin. There's a dedicated sub for tourism posts with a huge archive at r/irishtourism Please check that first, and if you have a really specific question come back here and we'll try to help. Low effort posts asking for recommendations of "hidden gems" and "off the beaten track" tourist attractions will be met with scorn, and probably removal.

If you are looking to buy or sell concert tickets you are very likely to get scammed. It's as simple as that. Don't buy tickets on reddit, however desperately your niece wants to see Taylor Swift or whatever, it's a crazy risk. There are proper channels for resale of tickets, use them.

Looking for a cheap flat? A room in a shared house? Wondering if a specific part of the city is "safe" (whatever that means)? There's a sub for that too- /r/RentingInDublin/

Post your message there, not here.

A regular thing that comes up seems to be folks who have a very short time in Dublin and want to know what they can do in four or five hours or so. Just search this sub with the word "layover" and you'll see many many threads about this subject. Don't start a new one.

Similarly, threads about general issues which are not particularly Dublin-specific (salaries, national politics, international relations, stuff like that) may be removed.

At the latest estimate there are over a million Irish subreddits, so you will certainly be able to find somewhere to post your non-Dublin-relevant content.

Thanks for reading!

Lost camera in Dublin with huge sentimental value. €100 reward

Hi everyone,

Around noon today while out in Portobello, I somehow managed to lose my Voigtlander Perkeo III film camera at some point, and only realised it was missing at around 2pm after lunch.

Earlier, I had taken the 150 bus south from Hawkins St. to Kevin St, before walking down Clanbrassil street, nearly to the Grand Canal. It could have gone missing at any point during this trip between 12:00 and 14:00.

If anybody has found this camera, or has any information that would allow me to find it, I will be delighted to offer a reward of €100. It was closed inside of its leather case at the time it was lost, and would look exactly like the last picture.

This has been my main camera for many, many years and the film inside also has undeveloped photos from my proposal to my fiance last month. It would mean to world to have it back, so I greatly appreciate any help!

I have already put in messages to the lost and found to Dublin Bus, and to Irish Rail for good measure.

Did you attend today’s jobsexpo at RDS? The queue was very long infact it was so long it literally made it’s way to the parking entrance, we all clearly know what this tells about the jobs in ireland!

What are your thoughts?

Did you make any good connections here?

PLEASE SHARE — STOLEN BLACK BACKPACK, DUBLIN 2

On Wednesday night (14 October), between 11pm and 11.30pm, my friend had her small black backpack stolen outside Drury Buildings Bar, on Drury Street.

The bag contained a laptop and, more importantly, an old, battered grey iPhone (possibly an iPhone 11 Pro) that belonged to her late father.

While the bag itself isn't particularly important, the phone holds enormous sentimental value. It contains irreplaceable photographs and memories of her and her dad. I know it's a long shot, but we're hoping someone might have come across the backpack or its contents, particularly if they were discarded somewhere nearby.

If anyone saw anything, has found a small black backpack or an old grey iPhone, or has any information that might help, please send me a message.

Even just sharing this post would mean a great deal.

Thank you ❤️

Does anyone know where I can buy slide binders?

I want the round ones preferably because the triangles can break. I suppose I can order online but I don’t want to wait. I’ve checked the city center eason and they didn’t have them. Does any store have them or are they like an asian thing that hasn’t been imported?

Buying around Belcamp Manor area - feedback appreciated

• Upvotes

As the title says, me and my partner are looking into buying a property around the Belcamp Manor area, in the nearby estates, but with the negative feedback we read online about the Belcamp/Balgriffin area we're quite concerned.

So what's your feedback on the area? Is it safe to buy a property there or do you think it's a sketchy area to move into.

We're also looking into Kinsealy, although the prices start increasing the further north you go into Malahide Rd

My boyfriend and I want to do something different for NY. He loves Dublin, we love Guinness and he’s Irish (from Cork). He prefers the pubs outside of the city centre (temple bar is a no no!) I’ve booked a hotel to make sure we don’t miss out or pay a fortune!
What would people recommend to do on NYE, we love a pub, cosy, traditional vibes!

Just wondering what gyms in the Glasnevin-Phibsboro-Stoneybatter area are good? Wouldn’t mind travelling closer into the city centre for one either! Looking for mid pricing, €50 >
Thanks in advance!

AI Phone Answering?

I hope I don’t sound like a get off my lawn, robots taking over, aul fella but Christ I hated this

Rang to book a table in Boeuf and Frites on Crow St and was answered by an obvious AI booking service.

Could not find a way to get around it to talk to real staff and it just would not accept my name for the booking. Tried to call and ask about doing something for a friend’s birthday and absolutely no joy as I couldn’t get around the AI “service”.

Is this commonplace now? I’ve personally never come across it before but for some reason it enraged me so much I hope it doesn’t spread to other venues/restaurants.

I have an extra ticket for today's Angine de Poitrine show (NOT SELLING)

Sorry for the late notice.

I have an extra ticket for AdP in Vicar Street. I'm not selling it, I just don't want to waste it.

If any of you is interested, you can have it. You don't have to stay with me, but you'll have to enter with me. I'll go there around 18:30. It's a standing/balcony ticket (the only place the scalpers left me).

Comment here or contact me! But please don't offer me money because I don't want any. Thank you :)

New to Dublin and looking to explore—anyone up for a drink and a chat?

• Upvotes

> Hey everyone,

> I’ve recently moved to Dublin and I'm really enjoying the city, but it's always more fun exploring a new place with someone else rather than wandering around solo.

> I'd love to connect with a cool girl who is up for grabbing some drinks, checking out parts of the city, and having a good laugh. I'm pretty easygoing, up for discovering some nice pubs or hidden gems around town, and just seeing where the conversation goes.

> If you're local, new here too, or just fancy a drink sometime this week, drop a comment or send a DM. What's your go-to spot for a drink in the city center?

>

Would you like some recommendations for some great, casual pubs around Dublin center that are ideal for a first meet-up?

Anyone else think the luas stinks?

• Upvotes

Ive just travelled over from America and was on the luas today. Holy crap it reeks. I dont know if it was the people on it or just the Luas itself but by god I almost gagged. Also had a tweaker give out to me for walking in and accidentally brushing off of her leg. Has put a bad taste in my mouth
