Deck Idea Planning on disassembling this deck, suggestions what to do with the 99?

Post image

I got this as a precon to have one for new players but didn't really enjoy the power level and playstyle so upgraded it to B3 with 20+ upgrades and better land base. Buuttt it still didn't catch my interest. So its going on the chopping block.

Any suggestions what to build with the leftovers?

Different commanders?

You might have heard this before but [[Eriette of the Charmed Apple]] has a bunch of cross over cards.

When I was working through my [[Breena the demagogue]] deck and cut all my auras I saw the potential to build her.

A friend of mine did the same with the precon but to me she kinda is solved already. She strong, good effect but that makes it kinda meh for me.

I actually switched the Commander to Scriv and swapped a lot of the auras out for a blink package/blink creatures etc.

I am very interested in what you do as I’m planning on doing the same but haven’t decided which way to go

For now these are what im thinking: Eriette, the Beguiler - the 1st suggestion here (sounds fun) Pearl-Ear, Imperial Advisor Victor, Valgavoth's Seneschal

I have a buddy who wanted to use the pieces for [[the master of keys]]

Maybe add blue and build [[Erriette, The Beguiler]]

Very Strong suggestion, also i do have a lot of blue auras in the binder. Just my question is doesn't the curve go more towards 3-4 mana value auras ?

This is exactly what I did with my Killian pre-con. The curve definitely goes towards and upwards of 3-4 mana value auras because you need to have higher CMC auras to gain control of higher CMC permanents. Super fun commander that’s incredibly versatile. I play it as a voltron life gain deck using the commanders theft ability as removal, but another great strategy is stealing creatures and sacrificing them to make value for yourself.

I upgraded this precon, one of my favorites. Here's my list: https://moxfield.com/decks/mOIDpeRuoUmub7rTCqmr_A

I feel this, consistently get 2nd while making the entire game less fun for everyone. In the process of turning mine into a Anikthea, Hand of Erebos deck.

The trick to avoid getting second place is [[Tempest Technique]] and [[All that Glitters]] style effects. The minigame is controlling combat in such a way that when it gets down to a 1v1, the opponent has all of their creatures tapped with a low life total allowing you to swing in for lethal.

You could add red and make an [[Isshin, Two Heavens as one]] deck or add blue and make a [[Jin Sakai, Ghost of Tsushima]] deck.

Both can work really good with auras.

Isshin can double the trigger of your auras and Jin gives double Strike of unblockable.

Both extremely strong but have seen them way too much, would like a less kill on sight commander

I just did [[Karona, False God]] with every Aura that goads. Granted, I built the deck for low stakes games, but it is very funny.

Sounds fun but moving fron 2 to 5 colors is an uff

I added blue and made [[Arna Kennerüd, Skycaptain]], and just focused on auras for her doubling shenanigans. Amazing commander I gotta say

No doubt a powerful one but have seen it a lot and i do wanna experiment a bit. But thank u

[[Zoraline, cosmos caller]] could be fun for recurring your stronger auras. Can lean into auras to make zoraline voltron a win con, but also can slot in some of your favorite low cmc cards or value creatures like [[adeline, resplendent cathar]] or [[ainok strike leader]].

Not bad idea was thinking Lurrus at one point but this has flying and vigilance with basically same effect

Looking for the [[Eriette of the charmed apple]] post, but no one's mentioned it yet. Would it not make a fantastic general in this deck?

Was mentioned but, the commander is kinda solved, she's maybe the strongest aura commander but i do wanna try out something a bit more experimental

What do you mean solved? Unless you’re making it for CEDH that doesnt matter. Has it been fun-optimized mathematically or something? Are you only going to have fun building it the way a guide tells you?

I've seen too much of her and the effect is simple and good i want a little bit of a challenge

Im surprised you didnt enjoy this. This is one of the most fun precons zi own, personally. And I own quite a few.

Is the theme of the deck thats an issue? Have you tried running alternate commands?

That said, different strokes for different folks.

I'd have to lie to tell u what i didnt like about the commander, maybe bcz my pod rarely uses combat decks and unless i goad the same creature it rarely attaxked. It did win with inkshield, Tempest Technic and a returning off all auras from gy to field for a voltron win but still I've never really wanted to reach for the deck besides the first 3-4 times.

I did try Scriv in the face as a blink strategy only using about 20% auras but that felt like it was capping at B2.

Then came the other Killian with 2 mana discount and i went a mix of spellslinger and aura strategy, which i really did enjoy at first but also just faded as quick.

Eriette the apple i just didnt wanna try bcz she's really kinda already solved.

For now after posting this im thinking: Eriette, the Beguiler, Victor, Valgavoth's Seneschal, Pearl-Ear, Imperial Advisor.

Eriette is great. I run this deck stock with default commander and I have more fun by far than any deck I play. But I am trying to goad the board every turn, and the other decks in my pod are running creatures in most all cases.

Inkshield saved for the right moment can win a game. Returning all auras from the graveyard is potentially a win con, too (return to the light realm is neat here). Using politics to give someone a buff for political favor is relatively easy to do (or making something indestructible but you can kill it any time). I dont always make my board crazy, sometimes I am just making the other peoples boards crazy.

I think if you are running against decks without creatures this deck does suffer. For n what its worth. But if you do break it down, I think you will ultimately be using 5 to 10 cards in other decks and bulking the rest. Most of these cards really are intended for aura decks.

As much as people ar talking about Eriette there are a few cool card you can take out for an aikido style deck, such as [[inkshield]], [[redemption arc]] or [[ghostly prison]]. There aren't much but some of them are core to that playstyle.

I would add red to the mix because the boros combination is king for aikido.
