Question Pimple relief in BCN, Spain

• Upvotes

I’m in Barcelona for a couple of days and a couple of pimples popped up on my face (on my cheeks). I almost never get pimples, maybe once a year max and I brought my trusted skincare with me so I really have no idea what caused this. Is there anything I can buy locally to get rid of them ? I have a presentation coming up later this week and I am feeling pretty self conscious now :(

Question People who wash their face with bottled/distilled water - how do you do it so it's less of a pain and messy?

• Upvotes

For various reasons, including hard water in certain regions, many choose to wash their face with bottled water, distilled or otherwise. If you are one of those people, please read on!

How are you washing your face without it splashing everywhere? I am worried because it is getting the water everywhere every single day; this amount of moisture is not good for the bathroom furniture. And it is a pain to have to clean up splashed water twice a day.

I hvae tried a spray bottle but it is not nearly enoguh water to proplerly remove the cleanser. I have tried a "peri bottle" but it's still pretty messy. It's also not large enough so I end up having to refill it multiple times during the wash.

I am open to any ideas! Feel free to get super detailed. Give me your best hacks, tips, techniques, contraptions, inventions...

Thank you!

Question Everything breaks me out

I've been getting into skincare these past few months, taking people's advice about introducing one product at a time, as well as trying to keep it simple.

I have dry, sensitive skin and every cleanser or moisturizer I've tried so far has broken me out. Sometimes it'd happen immediately, other times it would take a week or two. My skin looks worse than when I started tbh.

Products I've tried:

Cleansers:

  • Balea Med Ultra Sensitive Wash-Gel
  • Balea Jelly Cleanser
  • Neutrogena Hydrating Gel Cleanser

Moisturizers:

  • Neutrogena Hydro Boost Aqua Creme
  • No Cosmetics Base Hydration Cream

Does anyone have any advice/product recommendations? (I live in Germany)

Question [Germany, Austria, Switzerland] Looking for something similar to Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Concentrate Cream

Things I like about this product:

- vegan

- fragrance free

- thick, non runny texture

- excellent on dry, sensitive skin

---

Reasons I'm looking for a dupe:

- not easy to find in Europe unless you purchase on Amazon

- want to reduce purchases from Amorepacific and other big conglomerates (so no L'Oréal, Estée Lauder etc either)

- want something from a cruelty free company, ideally a company that are outspoken about these values

- want to explore more smaller brands (I'm from Asia, not familiar with a lot of EU brands)

---

Location: Germany, Austria, Switzerland

---

Please no AI recommendations. Thank you for your help.

Hey guys! My dermatologist changed my routine, so I have brand-new, unopened Cetaphil Gentle Clear Serum and Moisturiser that I can't use. Is anyone located in the EU looking to buy these, or interested in taking them off my hands? I also have Metrolotion and Adapalene Gel 0.1%.

Sun Care Daily sunscreen w/ Tinosorb M, sans avobenzone

Hi ! Hope everyone is doing well :)

I'm looking for a good daily sunscreen with Tinosorb M, but no avovenzone.

I like Tinosorb M for UVA1 coverage without yellow cast. I don't mind a white cast.

I know there have already been posts discussing this, but they are older and often feature either sunscreens that have been discontinued/reformulated or sunscreens that I've already tried but that haven't worked for me.

So if you have any suggestions I would really appreciate it :)

Thank you !!

(Lots of Korean sunscreens meet my criteria, but bc of their low film resistance and lack of critical wavelength requirements, I'm looking for something EU. )

Located in France btw.

***

Tried :

- ACM Depiwhite M SPF50+ : pretty nice but pilled like crazy

- Dermina Sunlina Fluide SPF50+ : insanely greasy, stung, no.

- Riemann P20 Kids SPF50+ : Broke me out, very rich for every day. I tried it pre tret though so I'm considering giving it a second try but hm

Considering :

- Ultrasun Extreme SPF50+ : affordable for the size, worried it'll be too heavy / hardcore for everyday

- various ultrasun face sunscreens (anti-pigment, anti-age) : I really would but 20€+ for 40ml is a hard sell

- Pharmaceris S Sun protection face and body cream SPF 50+ for babies and children 125 ml - affordable for the quantity, concerned about elegance

- Pharmaceris Sensi Protect daily protective lotion for face and eyes SPF50+ : 24€ for 50ml 💀

***

I've also looked at ACO and Biodermal but can't find them shipping to France.

Other option I'm considering is giving up on Tinosorb M for non yellow UVA1 and going with an SVR sunscreen w Tinosorb S Lite Aqua - I know it's yellow too but not as much as Triasorb or MCE. Just don't know if this would work in practice.

Question Lithuanian brands

Hi everyone! So I’m in Vilnius for a week and I was thinking of visiting some stores and checking the cosmetics they sell here. When I travel I like to see some of the brands I don’t usually have access to and maybe get a little something for myself.

Do you have any recommendations? What products do you like? I would be interested in both skincare or make up.

For context, I have dry skin, so I really like products that feel hydrating, specially going into winter.

Thank you!

Question SPF Moisturizer

I NEEED help! I'm from the PNW and going to SoCal for college next year, and I am not used to having to wear sunscreen all the time. I was using dermalogica when I was down there visiting, and I hated the sheen on my face and it burned my eyes (despite not getting in them). I so badly need a good recommendation, preferably something that works as both a moisturizer and a sunscreen! (I am very pale, very dry skin, and I burn VERY easily!)

All help so appreciated!! <3

Product Question Has anyone with rosacea tried Sesderma products containing azelaic acid? Are they worth it?

Post image

Hi everyone! I wanted to ask if anyone has used Sesderma products, either the brand in general or, more specifically, their azelaic acid products. I’d love to hear about your experiences, especially if you have rosacea.

In my case, I have persistent rosacea, and although I’ve already had five IPL sessions, the improvement has been quite slow. I also occasionally experience mild acne breakouts, but what concerns me most is the redness and erythema that appear in the areas where pimples develop. I don’t usually get dark spots; instead, I’m left with reddish marks that seem to be related to my rosacea.

Has anyone with rosacea tried Sesderma’s azelaic acid products? Which product did you use, and what results did you notice in terms of redness, erythema, and acne breakouts? Would you recommend it, or do you think there are better alternatives?

I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences, especially if you have persistent rosacea and acne-prone skin. Thanks!

Retinoids / Tretinoin Tretinoin side effects

I just went today to see a dermatologist at one of the best university hospitals in the world and she told to not use tretinoin if I want kids.

Just thought I am ought to put it out here for you all.

Then, the decision is personal and rests with each of us individually.

PS: if you have questions, people, you should discuss it with your own doctors. My goal is to raise awareness, not to pretend to know more than specialists do.

Routine Help Products for oily dehydrated skin due to hard water

Hello there,

My skin has been a mess since I moved to an apartment with very hard water a year ago. I've always had oily and sensitive skin, but now it's very dehydrated as well (dry patches, enlarged pores, loss of elasticity, fine lines, etc.). This is only getting worse with time.

My skin doesn't like products with hyaluronic acid so I'm having a hard time finding a good serum/cream or toner (or something) that would hydrate me without being too heavy and causing more blackheads and acne.

For context, I currently use the Purito Bamboo moisturiser and it's the best for my sensitive skin. But it doesn't have enough hydration it seems. I'd like to add one product that could help me in that front.

I also don't have a lot of money for many trials and errors, so I will heavily rely on your recommendations. Could be euro or korean skincare. Please help me!

Question In search of Pierre Fabre & similar alternatives for skin care

Guys, help me find some good European brands that have a relatively clean reputation: don’t support genocide, aren’t somehow connected to Estee Lauder,Pierre Fabre etc. Brands that don’t try to cut corners or use the cheapest ingredients.

I will not claim some higher moral ground here, the reason is actually that im just pissed at having to pay the same prices when they just reformulate shit and use weird ingredients to replace the old (example being Avene Xeracalm) but while im searching for alternatives anyway..MIGHT AS WELL hopefully find some good brands that I can use for the rest of my life and support them.

So far I have survived on second hand products (eBay,vinted..) and bought older formulations there but these will eventually expire. Better just find some new ones.

So far I had luck with:

Bioderma :(micellar water and sensibio cleansing gel in pink, plus their body balm)

Noreva: CERA, also Kerapil (my European alternative to Amlactin)

Uriage :xemose c8 (adding as I go)

What is your go-to brand that is or maybe isn’t well known?

Edit: as for body care, preferably something with 400/500 ml,bigger containers for lotions

Question Has anyone tried the ray. skincare brand?

I started seeing their shops popping up in many cities and they claimed to be a pharmacist backed brand. However, they seem quite pricey, almost as expensive as LRP… I’m wondering what’s your view of them and is it really worth the money?

Question Barrier Milk Moisturizer?

Post image
7 Upvotes

So, I'm based in the Netherlands and I’ve seen some ads around but looks new? Just wondering if anyone has tried this brand called Kirā skin before. They sell a cream that I’m curious about but I’m also picky when it comes to try new stuff (have oily acne prone skin) but the ingredients are similar to my current rotation. (Purito oat ) I just don’t want to buy because it’s pretty >~<

If someone tried it so far can tell me how was it?

Product Question French pharmacy skin tints, what do you guys use?

I really like French pharmacy skincare and lately I’ve been looking for something with a little coverage. I don’t really wear much makeup and just want my skin to look more even.

I’ve tried Erborian CC cream and liked it but the shades are so limited. Someone mentioned Typology’s tinted face serum and I’ve also been looking at Embryolisse CC cream. Idk which one would be better for combination skin though.

I hate when something looks nice at first but gets greasy after a few hours.

Has anyone tried these? Do they actually feel like skincare or more like foundation? Or is there something else I should look at?

Routine Help Barrier problems and Tretinoin

Hello everyone,

My dermatologist has prescribed 0.05% tretinoin for adult acne. I’ve tried using it several times, but each time I’ve run into issues with my skin barrier—largely because I haven’t found a suitable moisturizer.

My skin is quite difficult to manage. I’m allergic to fragrance, and I develop cystic acne when using products containing niacinamide, caprylic/capric triglyceride, shea butter, coconut oil, or other oils; fatty alcohols may also be a trigger for me.

Currently, I’m using the Uriage Bariéderm-Cica Daily Gel-Cream, but unfortunately, it isn’t nourishing enough.

My current skincare routine:
Morning:
Cleanse with water
Cicaplast spray
Uriage Bariéderm-Cica Daily Gel-Cream
Dr. Leenarts Suncare Fluid spf50

Evening:
Cleanse with either Anua 8 Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Gentle Gel Cleanser or Etude House SoonJung pH 6.5 Whip Cleanser
Cicaplast spray
Uriage Bariéderm-Cica Daily Gel-Cream
Occasionally, I apply a bit of Vaseline or squalane oil, though I’m hesitant to do this on a daily basis.

I have previously tried Roaccutane and spironolactone, but both caused severe dizziness, so I had to stop using them.

Does anyone have any tips on how I might successfully incorporate tretinoin into my routine?

Product Question Any experiences with "Mixed Dedication" from 25seven?

Thumbnail

Hey there!

Has anyone some experiences with the product listed above? Found out about it via an Instagram ad that's why I'm a little skeptical.

I'm having problems with hormonal acne meaning I'm getting deep cysts that'll last forever leaving sometimes big red spots.

I would like to know if it really helps with the post inflammatory reaction of the skin (normally, tranexamic acid should do this, right?). And even more interesting for me is: is it helping getting rid of the cysts faster?

I'm personally using Skinoren 20% and sometimes Adapaben. Both are doing their job but it's not helping on a long term.

I'm curious about your opinion!
