Help/support Acne tratment advice?

Long story short: getting a prescription from a dictor is a tedious process I don't have the time of going through (working 2jobs, no time to take days off and stand in lines to my GP to them stand. in lines to a dermatologist etc etc) so I'm looking for treatment suggestions that worked for others in my position.

I'm on mo 4 of my transition, my T levels are just a bit above the norm (switched to longer intervals between my shots, getting my bloodwork dobe in 3 weeks from now) and E is well suppressed. Acne is starting to get really bad. It was TERRIBLE during my natal puberty, I have acne scars all over my face, chest and back, and while more scars won't change much for me, I kinda wanna keep tgem to a minimum if possible. So basically the question is - what treatment worked for you, personally? Most curious about the experience of other men from Ukraine since some medications that can be accessible abroad might be hard to find here and vice versa, but any asvice is appreciated!

Facial Hair Is minoxidil worth it?

I'm a bit over two years on testosterone and have had almost zero facial hair growth. I am barely able to grow the thinnest, patchiest, teenage boy stache and nothing else. My levels have been hovering the 800 ng/dL range since I started so I know it's not a dosage issue.

Voice/Singing How to make sure voice drops properly?

I've been on testosterone for 5 weeks, 30mg. I had a conversation this morning and I realized I'm starting to display the stereotypical T voice. I hate to be like this but I do not want that. I've been singing all my life and singing is everything to me. It is all I'm worth and all I'm good for. If my voice gets fucked up I will genuinely end my shit. How do I make sure that my voice drops properly and doesn't end up permanently ruined? I know it's to due with the thickness and length of the vocal cords and that if they thicken but don't grow properly that causes the sound. How do I make sure they grow properly?
I've heard to go low and slow to prevent your larynx from ossifying prematurely. Does anyone know anything else about that? Should I reduce my dosage? I'm 18 for context. Also on informed consent currently, won't have access to an endocrinologist for at least another year.

I already had high testosterone levels and was a contralto before this. I'm panicked and Idk what's going on. I know that adult testosterone levels are what causes your vocal cords to set and harden, I just found that out just now. Is it possible that I've already set them and i'm permanently fucked? If i reduce my dose and do it at low for a long time do I still have a chance for them to develop properly?

Bottom surgery: Phallo 9 years post op

I know a lot gets thrown around in terms of phalloplasty, but I wanted to share my experience as someone who had it, am overall happy with it, and my complications. I had rff phallo in 2017 and started having problems day one, my skin graft site would not stop bleeding and I requires blood transfusions. I then lost half of my penis due to blood flow issues and infection. I had that half rebuilt with a SCIP flap that took several surgeries to get an aesthetic I liked and to have a nerve graft placed in it. I've had so many UL surgeries that I stoped counting at 20 procedures, what finally worked was three urethral dilations with kenalog injections. I've been stricture free for 5 years now. I tried the two piece inflatable pump but it started eroding and got infected and had to be urgently removed, and because. I have two blood supplies I can't try another device. Phallo is still one of the best decisions I've made, even without medical tattooing my penis usually doesn't put me. Am I disappointed I can't penetrate on my own? Yes, but there's so much more that I needed from surgery than just that so I still feel like I'm in a much better place. Post phallo I've noticed that I care more about my overall body and tend to focus on other things that I'm not willing to try to surgically correct, but body image issues aren't solely a trans issue and it's something I have to remind myself of.

Help/support Help coming out to family

Hello! I only started on T a month ago and the one thing that had been on my mind, my family has an old fashioned mindset. My main concerns are my grandparents and my brother. My brother has made comments in the past about trans people and he has Asperger's which makes it harder for him to understand things. My grandparents are in their late 80s and are very old fashioned.

I'll be very heartbroken especially when it comes to my brother since he is the only sibling I have if he cuts me off completely. How can I explain it to them to help them understand that I'll be the same person but will just look and sound different?

Help/support How do you survive this kind of life

I’m 18, on T for ~1.5 years, and had top surgery this january. I pass, my life is going fine, I have plans for the future, but I feel so bad. Every day I feel so angry and frustrated. I feel like Ive been betrayed by my family, I feel like I’ve lost the person I was supposed to be, I feel like I’ve been raped nonstop for years until I started hrt. I don’t know how to move on with life. Theres not a time period I can try to go back to where I was happy and healthy, my entire life has just been dysphoria. It’s not enough to just transition, the trauma doesn’t go away when you start passing

Help/support Dysphoria Cured? Unsure about gender

I've always felt as if I didn't belong in my body, I initially thought it was simply body dysmorphia since I was young. During Middle school, I was more aware of the idea of being transgender and I felt more proud when being referred to as He/Him, I cut my hair and began to dress more masculine to feel comfortable.

In the beginning of this year, started Testosterone and began to be medicated for my mental disorder

After a while, I began to feel comfortable in expressing my femininity or generally wearing and doing whatever I wanted, and my dysphoria was almost non-existant. I wasn't bothered about my curves, my voice, hair or anything feminine I did.

I felt normal in however my body was, I didn't feel like I needed to fit into a box of strictly masculine or feminine, but I still prefer He/Him pronouns.

I don't care about my gender as much or how people see me as unless it's specifically female.

Am I simply Non-binary or am I just experiencing something else?

Vent/Rant Severe guilt over not starting T right now

My mom vaguely knows that I “want to be a man” and that I “hate my gender”, not that I will transition in the future. Her reaction was catastrophic. Im a uni student living alone in a different country now. I barely crawled out of that hellhole which is my home country. Im being funded completely by my parents.
If my mom notices my voice drop she will cut the money, stop paying for my school and rent and force me to go back to my home country and that would basically mean that my life is over. I know she’ll do that because of how she reacted when she just thought i was merely uncomfortable being a girl.
The school is way too expensive for non-EU students. The program is so hard and too much that I cannot possibly work at the same time. Thats why Im waiting to graduate and get a working permit so I can stay here, get into a proper job and afford my own rent and eventually be a citizen and never go back again. Logically I can’t risk my whole entire life and future just to start T a few years earlier. Im already a grown adult and puberty already did its thing. I was so patient, I went through so much pain and loneliness in my teenage years and kept quiet just so I could escape and have peace in the future. This was my plan all along.
But the more time passes the more I hate myself for waiting. Despite knowing what the outcome would be I always think “I should start now, maybe my parents will suck it up and let me stay in school”. I keep telling myself Im putting it off and delaying it on purpose and that Im a big coward who will never transition. I overthink the day I will start T, whether I will tell my parents or let them figure it out on their own from my voice or facial hair, what their reaction will be, what they will say, if they will harass me daily to stop, If i will lose my friends, how lonely I’ll be, how I will have to recover from surgeries all alone, how T won’t actually fix my depression etc.
Im so lucky to be in a safe country and so far away from my parents but having anxiety this daily is ruining me. My life is a ticking time bomb and I cant even get a moment of peace lately. When Im home alone with my thoughts i just start crying I cant even distract myself with substance abuse or hobbies anymore, and when im out with friends im hyperaware of my own existence and I just can’t wait to get home so I can start crying and drinking. The only thing Im doing to cope right now is to study non stop. Im living like a shark, if i stop i die.. 🦈 (I really needed to write this out.)

Help/support Working Out / Building Muscle

I’m Pre-T and a youngin’ (18) don’t know where else to ask since everytime I ask cis-dudes they say I just need to work out but it never helps with my dysphoria since I don’t know what I’m doing, I have some guides but I’m honestly clueless.

If any are you are gymrats or just lean, what do I have to change in my routines or diet to actually gain muscle that can help me look masculine while getting lean? I know it’s different for me since I still havent started T so my body will like take different amounts of nutrients or something to get the look I want.

I’m fat and have no muscle so it really gets my dysphoria going, I’m just trying to look for advice that isn’t “eat more protein” because I swear I just look more fem and just getting skinny will make me look like a twink which is not what I’m aiming for.

I try my best, cardio and I’m in a caloric deficit but I have no idea where to start with muscles to get the masculine look I want. And everytime I ask a cis dude he either calls me a chud or gives me some bs advice, and then theres the notorious “dont work out you’ll look like a man” comments from my family so I just need advice on what to do or where to start 😢 pls

Dysphoria Related Content Im constantly envious of others, and i feel guilty for that

Ok im pre everything, im technically out to my parents but they literally just ignored it. Whatever.

These past few days I have been pretty hormonal because you know. So everytime I see a trans guy getting what I wish I had I just cry.

Oh you got top surgery? Im happy for you. Im crying my soul out.

You celebrating 5 years on testosterone? Congratulations! Im genuinely about to fly off my balcony.

You got on puberty blockers b4 female puberty started? Yess love that! I will relapse.

Bottom surgery results that look absolutely beautiful? Good for you man, watch me perform the surgery myself.

Supportive parents? Im so glad. I want to die.

I feel so bad for feeling like this, because were all trans you know. We all struggle.

And also like everytime I cry about not having something, I cry about crying because I feel so dysphoric everytime I show weak emotions.

I went to therapy for like a year, I came out to the therapist to talk about this specifically. She started asking me if it wasn't just a phase, and stuff like that, then she proceeded to call my mother and tell her EVERYTHING I told her.

Genuinely just kill me already so I get reincarnated into a cis guy or something like shit man.

How does one even stop feeling like this bro. I just feel like life is not worth living everytime I see somebody living the dream.

Packing/STP Axolom Packer moveable skin/testicles

I bought my first packer with moveable skin—the Pico by Axolom. After a month, the skin tore. I’m not exactly sure what caused it to break. I should mention that my girlfriend sometimes sits on me and basically rubs against the bulge while I’m wearing pants. That’s the only way we can be intimate. Anything else triggers my dysphoria. I think the packer couldn’t handle that.
But it didn't break at that exact moment. What happened was, that one day I noticed there was a kind of dark spot under the skin.
I thought it was some kind of air bubble under the skin. So I gently pulled the skin in that exact spot with my fingers because I thought the "air bubble" would go away. I really didn’t pull very hard, but the skin tore right away. I ordered a new packer right away—the same one, but this time with movable testicles and skin. I get scared as soon as I put it on because I just don’t know exactly what I did wrong with the other one. I'm too scared of breaking it right away after just one week. I told my girlfriend it would be better to use a different packer for intimate moments. But I don't even dare to touch the packer anymore. But that’s exactly why you get a “special” packer like this one with movable skin and testicles—to touch it, play with it a little, and feel that euphoria thanks to how realistic it is. Has anyone had a similar experience with a packer like this from Axolom?

I'm from Germany, and I had the text translated; I hope people can still understand me well.

Vent/Rant I'm genuinely unlovable

I know I sound like a doomer but honestly, who would want THAT?

I'm 22, almost on T, pre surgery. I'm gay and I am not interested in T4T relationship just because I know I'll be jealous that the other guy is more advanced than me in his transition and it'll be dysphoria olympics. I'm bipolar, anorexic and have CPTSD and due to my trauma I can't even imagine a day I'll be comfortable with someone seeing my body (including doctors, so that's fun especially since I want both top and bottom surgery). So there isn't even a world where I'm able to have casual hookups. My face or body doesn't make up for the rest either, my physique doesn't makes the investment worth it. And on top of that I live in the middle of nowhere, no huge queer community and the only gays around here are either Frankie Grande's clones (no shade) or 65 yo dudes.

I'm genuinely cooked

Vent/Rant I'd kill to be able to get keyhole

Little to no visible scarring from the surgery, that's the dream. I could go shirtless without a worry, and without having to get a huge tattoo all over it to cover it. My chest would feel and look natural and like a cis man's. I wish I lucked out genetically but I didn't. Not even with other traits, I don't really have any masculine features at all. That makes me think I don't actually "deserve" to be a man.

But yeah. I don't know if it's possible that I could just work out a lot to get keyhole? I guess I'll just accept I'll never be able to walk around shirtless, go swimming and use public showers.

Jawline dermal filler was worth it

As as disclaimer, I don't suggest you get this unless you've been on hrt over 3 years at least (so that you've given your facial structure actual time to change + time to figure out if you'd rather just have decent facial hair) or have no intention of going on hrt. I went to a very experienced aesthetician after a lot of research, and I'm incredibly impressed with the results. Pros- immediate results after swelling has calmed, not too painful, very customizable, lasts around 2 years and can go much longer with mild yearly touchups. Cons- expensive upfront (definitely budget $900-1200), you're awake for the procedure, and it does need to be touched up.

In general, I just don't see guys talking about this as an option. I'm for all intents and purposes "post" transition (coming up on 6 years of t, post top, post medical sterilization) and had always told myself that if my face was still reading as overly androgynous after 5 years, then I'd look into masculinization options. It looks great- friends couldn't clock it, only said that something definitely looked different in a good way. My partner was hesitant because they love my face, but even they agree it looks greats. Sometimes testosterone doesn't do everything! Our sisters are open about the many options medicine has given them, and we should be too. There's a lot of stigma around men having work done, but I think we're a particular case that deserves to have our needs met, not out of insecurity but out of successful transition options beyond hormones alone. If anyone else has had any masculinizing procedures that aren't commonly discussed, feel free to mention them cause I'm curious about what else we're often unaware of!

Vent/Rant How do you deal with loneliness?

All my life I have been alone, being the youngest child and having 7 siblings ahead of me not to mention I was pretty weird growing up. No one to play with and to talk to and I find someone they retreat bcz I have weirded them out. I only had one relationship in middle school and safe to say it did not end well even tho we still talk.

The thing is now I know that I have friends who are trans and people I care about deeply I just can’t shake the feeling that they don’t feel the same way about me and that they are just tolerating me and somehow I get that I might be insufferable but am I that horrible to be with? I can’t tell and this makes me feel lonely. I feel like I can’t rely on anyone that I can’t take a breather that nobody is ever gonna take care of me. I’m afraid that I’ll be alone the rest of my life.

I am talking to this girl at uni and I do have a crush on her and i think she does too the thing is she’s a lesbian and I didnt come out to her yet so she doesn’t know, I feel like I am deceiving her and once I tell her about who I really am she won’t like me anymore because she did tell me she will never date men ever. I feel like a lot of my loneliness comes from being trans, I am afraid to date cis men because they won’t look at me as a man and the girls I meet are into other girls and the trans men are always straight I feel like I can’t win. I don’t pass and bi girls don’t like that it really hurts being a trans man forgotten by both sides of society. everyday I wake up I wish that I’m a normal girl then I can date cis men and women no problem I can even date trans men.

I don’t know this is just a rant and I’m not sure if anyone is gonna relate

Vent/Rant Dating problems

I mostly just need to vent about this because I’m not sure there’s a practical solution, but long story short, I’m sick and tired of having dating problems as a trans guy. I’m gay and have had decent experiences with the community, but dating has been pretty much impossible because of this one bizarre trend.

Every guy who isn’t wish-washy about whether he’s attracted to trans men seems to become unhealthily obsessed with me to the point of conflict. For example, I’ll go on one date with a guy and he’ll already want me to commit to exclusivity. I have casual sex with another guy and all the sudden he’s texting me every day trying to get me to be his boyfriend. Things like that. The crazy thing is that I never have much in common with these guys, but they’ll talk about feeling a connection with me after just one or two mediocre dates. It’s like they’re projecting some idea of who I am based on their attraction to me.

They often won’t take no for an answer either. I went on a date with this guy who, halfway through, revealed to me that he’s engaged to a woman and isn’t out to his family as bisexual. At that point, I was no longer interested, and when I told him that, he just kept pushing and wouldn’t let it go.

Part of the reason it’s so distressing is that their attitudes seem to be the exact opposite of the experiences that cis men complain about. All my cis gay male friends complain about it how no one wants to commit, everyone wants an open relationship, etc. But when it comes to me, people become obsessed, angry, and possessive so quickly in a way I haven’t seen anyone else describe. I already dated one horrible chaser and I’m not going back to that no matter what, so I’ve just decide to be single. This sucks.
