Competition Fallout: The Gauntlet, 2024

https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/User_blog:Old_Man_Leon/Fallout:_The_Gauntlet,_2024

For anyone who happens to be interested, there is currently a writing competition being hosted on the Fallout wiki that's offering prizes to the winners.

It was only recently released, so applications are still being accepted for anyone who wants to join in:

We gotta stop posting these fan-made/fan-funded efforts, whether mods or contests, as if they are official Bethesda-sponsored endeavors.

It's incredibly confusing when you just post a title and year, especially now that they branched out into a TV show.

Doesn't come off as trying to 'look' official to me. I've read the post linked and nothing even hints at it being sponsored.

I'm talking about if you're scrolling past in the feed and you see just the title of the post. Sure, once you open the post* it becomes clear.

The one with a huge font saying "fallout wiki"? Yes I can. As for using the characters of the show, it's what a wiki is supposed to do...?

Didn’t some of the writers say they visit this site to see what people were thinking would happen? I guess some of us guessed right and probably some season 2 predictions were right

Not only that, but Nukapedia was used by Modiphius to create lore for Wasteland Warfare. It's definitely a point of pride for us that so many devs use Nukapedia and not just their own internal documentation.

This really seems like a way for someone to low-key steal fan ideas that they like so they can get their own pitch package together.

I think there is a rule where Hollywood can't knowingly plagiarize any fan made content, so every banger story legally can't be put into the show. Just saying.

I'm not understanding you. Where is that being suggested?
