Are they finally gonna support the Visual Voicemail tab on Google Dialer?

Yeah same... Would have been a cool feature if it actually worked but since it never worked anyways? Don't care...

I just got off support chat with Fizz and they confirmed that support for Android's native visual voicemail feature will go live on November 13.

That's not what they did for Videotron though: https://www.videotron.com/en/support/mobile/calls-and-voicemail/android-visual-voicemail

That's good insight, thanks for sharing. Based on Videotron's info, only Samsung and Pixel devices will have an alternative available.
The native visual voicemail feature of the phone app would probably be preferred for device compatibility sake, but I have not had experience with it myself. I have a Pixel 8 Pro so it doesn't effect me as much as someone with a Motorola or TCL device.
Let's hope Fizz provides clearer information before November 13!

Pixel 6, même chose, impossible d'activer l'option.

Hmm, that's weird; I have voicemail settings in my phone app on my Galaxy S23+, but no visual voicemail option inside it.

Same for me :(

I've always used a 3rd party VoIP number for this. Such as YouMail or VoIP.ms.
Needs call-forwarding on your plan though, and possibly Canada-Wide calling if your VoIP VM provider uses a number from another province.

Yeah, Fizz supports conditional call forwarding, so I've never had a problem with my Youmail, fortunately.

I looked that up in excitement only to see you need to use a separate app just like fizz's initial solution..Eww, nope.

Using an app is a better experience in my view, than having voicemails emailed to you as mp3/wav files, or the worst possible version, having to call-in to a number.
After a while you got a bunch of VMs polluting your internal storage/music player for temporary download from playing them, not a disaster but less ideal .
For a long time I actually had to download a 3rd party app just to play .wav files because android had no builtin support for weird VM wav's.

I filed a complaint with support in hopes that they will take back their decision. My hopes are low but it's free to try.

Wow. I went through a long chat session with the ai help at first. It wend sideways 2 times before getting me to the actual service. It did not go well. Lost 2 hours of my time repeating the same information as my Line 1, written as clear as possible. The only option left is the regular voicemail mechanism (call to listen) after November 13. Wow.

> Rest assured, your voicemail service will remain active. No action is required on your part. You will be able to use your Android phone’s built-in visual voicemail feature, if your device supports this functionality.
