QUESTION Fret Edge Question

I recently bought a second hand electomatic gretsch and the fret edges are bothering me. It's like they are too angular and pointy at the edge of the fretboard. Can this be fixed with by filing it down and is it a normal thing for a tech to fix?

I'm more used to the vintage smaller frets of my other guitars so when I play this one it bothers me. I need to take it for a set up anyway as I have some tuning issues

It's a super normal job for a tech to do; they'll just roll off the edges with a file. It can happen with guitars that don't get a lot of QC.

Take it to a tech, they'll roll the fret ends and knock those sharp edges down in like 20 minutes.

Fret sprout. Usually happens if the fingerboard gets dry. Any tech should be able to file the fret ends for you. Quick and easy job for them.

Yeah, it obviously got to dry over the summer and the binding has a bunch of cracks. It did have a bit of fret sprout but a month or so in normal/higher humidity has nearly fixed it all.

Yes, file them down. Just be careful. Just take your strings off first.
