I've always played Halo with my brother from another mother but recently we've drifted apart and not in each other's lives.

So that leaves me needing new people to game with, I'm looking for a few friends to game with semi-regularly no specific game modes but generally enjoy playing campaign missions, mini games like Jenga and Slayer/infection.

I have one other friend he's been playing for about a year and has gotten good, I've been playing since the golden Halo 3 days. But I took a long time off as gaming wasn't important to me for a time period in my life. I'm not as good as I once was but I'm pretty decent when I try haha, I just love the game

I'm looking for people who just like to have fun. I'll add my GT below.

So I thought I would be post this here as I made this project specifically to play Halo MCC with my partner who didn't have Xbox growing up. Since halo doesn't support local co-op on pc and we really wanted to do couch co-op (plus I wanted an excuse for a project to practice with) so instead of using something like Nucleus Co-Op, I instead wanted something that I could use for any other multiplayer games into the future which is the now released project created with Claude and a few other AI models: Eclipse/Umbra, couch co-op re-engineered.

Built as a fork of Aurora and Apollo, themselves forks of Moonlight (via Moonlight TV) and Sunshine, it is available to download for free, or to be taken and combined into your own fork or folded into current Moonlight and Sunshine forks.

Unlike wonderful community projects like Nucleus Co-Op, which need to support each game individually and deal with the hardware constraints of devs building games to run per PC, you can just open a stream on your client (currently supporting webOS, Windows and Linux and soon to be Nvidia shield) with two PCs acting as hosts instead of one, like with regular Moonlight and Sunshine streaming, choose if you want a vertical or horizontal split, assign your controllers and start. It is as if you have two half-resolution monitors that you can use for anything on your client device/display. Of course, in turn, it comes with the downside of needing two gaming PCs (and a copy of the game for each), and you will want your networking infrastructure to be streamlined to reduce latency as much as possible (all Ethernet and avoiding bottlenecks like routing everything through one 100 Mbps port, etc.), but with two PCs and a clear connection, the experience is hard to beat.

Due to the limits of the hardware I own (two primary NVIDIA gaming PCs and one cobbled-together AMD computer from older hardware), I could not do the level of testing that I personally prefer. I expect that some combinations of hardware or software versions are going to cause issues, so please report any issues on the Eclipse or Umbra GitHub issues with the logs attached (Settings → About → Keep diagnostic logs, then Share logs) so I can refine out the edge cases that I couldn't anticipate or test. Or of course you are welcome to directly contribute to the GitHub repos as well.

I keep toggling this because it’s crouch button (left stick).. obviously not okay to play like this but can’t for the life of me find the setting to turn this off.

I won’t ever use it anyway, is there a way to turn chat off or at least undbind? Trying to play from rog ally x with default gamepad / bumper jumper. I’m sure I’d have the same issue using my Series controller too.

Has anyone seen the difference in COOP on halo mcc vs Project Reclaimer?

It’s wild how 16 player coop has run better than the 4 player coop. Typically when playing coop, the game would like stutter/freeze but on Project Reclaimer, there is very minimal. Anyone having the same experience?

A friend of mine randomly disconnects during missions for combat evolved and it’s unfortunate. He gets a UE4 error, has anyone found a solution to this?

First multiplayer game back after nearly a decade and I was so excited to get back into the game. Went 0kills 3assists 11deaths, after the match was kicked from the lobby and handed a 30min ban. Look I admit I was out of my element, it was a small map and the other team was all over the spawns while I’m still getting my barring. It’s only 30 mins but feels a bit toxic to me. Is this common? Should I temper my expectations for picking this game up again?

My game always runs perfectly fine at 240 FPS but the other day I was just playing through Reach when I realized my frames started to stutter every 10 seconds or so and now I can’t stand playing halo because no matter what I play on it I experience these stutters and it bothers me so much. I didn’t change any setting in video settings or anything and I have recent updates for everything, I also deleted shader cache files to see if that would do anything though it didn’t.

Anyways, is this just me or has anyone else been experiencing this issue recently and does anyone know how to fix this issue.

Hello, I am wondering how lively the MP scene is for Halo MCC.

I picked up Infinite on PC a few years ago and have been enjoying it. I hadn’t really played Halo since 2009 on a friend’s xbox 360.

Infinite has been fun and I keep playing it, especially in the last six months. I’ve learned in the last few years all about 343 vs Bungie, and the gripes and critiques. And I think I get it. It doesn’t bother me so much cuz I never owned and xbox or 360; I never played the campaigns, just mp w friends and always loved it. A buddy in high school played Halo 2 MLG tourneys and was good. He would win/place.

Anyways. Halo Infinite’s release in 2021 I understand was really fumbled.. 6 figure player count mp scene at release and now hardly more than a cpl thousand.
Real sad.

Does MCC have a multiplayer scene at least as large as infinite? (Even if it’s just a cpl thousand concurrent ppl playing)

Well, if it's not the game kicking randomly n banning for the connection issues, it's stuff like this

From the second the match started, this player was punching and shooting teammates just to bait a reaction.

Once our teammates got mad at him and shot back, the game's automated system instantly kicked one of them,which is exactly what the j3rk wanted. since the start of the match he was also following me around, being annoying, lowering my shields, and at last intentionally throwing himself directly into my line of fire.
He died from getting on my line of fire "on purpose i bet just to trigger the kick on me" LOL

For context, i used to have gamepass before they raised the prices last year but since I'm in Egypt where there isn't an official region on console i used turkey because it was the most similar in it's currency value, then they closed that too when, so i couldn't subscribe again when they lowered the prices, anyway all that just means i wasn't able to play mcc for the last year, so give me suggestions on what i could do, I've played the trilogy and reach multiple times but didn't finish halo 4 or odst, I'm not insanely skilled tho, so maybe suggest some challenges i could do?
