Media Why can't we even mount unicorn
I'm not a harry potter fan, is there any reason by the lore of the wizarding world for why Unicorn aren't mount-able?

Please bear with me, it's a little bit scuffed as I had to make one fast since the old server owner got his account hacked and kicked everyone, it's still a work in-progress but here is the link! https://discord.gg/eKC5kKBBzB

Is this what it feels like to get your Hogwarts acceptance letter?!
Hi everyone! I'm Cody, but you can call me Vaknar. I’m honoured to share that I recently joined Avalanche Software as the new Community Manager. TL; DR: I'm here to be the bridge between Avalanche and you, the Hogwarts Legacy community.
First things first, who is this guy? Well, I’m a midwestern boy but I've been living in Southern California for a few years. Enjoying frequent beach days and catching the occasional wave whenever possible. I’ve been a community manager in gaming for several years, and, of course, I’m a Harry Potter fan! I grew up reading the books, waiting outside the theaters for each movie release, and now I’m ecstatic to be a part of the Hogwarts Legacy team!
I'll be honest, Hogwarts Legacy really pulled me into the wizarding world, and the further in I got, the harder it was to put down. I won’t pretend that I’m an expert quite yet, but I think I'm well on my way! Between the game, the lore rabbit holes, and this community… I reckon it won't be long before I can rattle off obscure trivia tidbits without thinking twice.
I’ve only just started, and while I'm still finding my footing, my goal is straightforward: to make this a space easily worth showing up to. That means celebrating the amazing things you're creating, making sure your voices and feedback reach the right people, and keeping things welcoming and inclusive for everyone.
When I'm not kicking back in the Hufflepuff common room, you'll find me lurking in conversations, listening, interacting with the community and probably asking a lot of questions — I’m very interested in hearing what players think about the game. I promise I'm friendlier than a Chinese Chomping Cabbage, so don't be a stranger and feel free to say hi!
– Cody (Vaknar)

Hey everyone! At the end of September I released Wandrealm, a multiplayer mod for Hogwarts Legacy, so you can finally explore the castle and the Highlands together. It's had updates almost every day since.
What you can do today:
- 🧙 Play in the same world as your friends. See them walk, fly and ride around you in real time.
- 🗺️ Go on quests and story missions together: play them side by side with your friends. Each player's progress is still their own for now.
- 🚪 Shared doors and world progress in the places you visit together.
- ✨ Spells on shared objects: Wingardium Leviosa, Accio and more, seen by everyone.
- 👥 Parties: invite friends, party chat, and see each other on the world map.
- ⚔️ Co-op combat (in testing): fight the same poachers, dark wizards, trolls and beasts together.
- 🪄 Duels (in testing): non-lethal 1v1 wand duels with your friends.
- 🎙️ Proximity voice chat (in testing): hear players near you.
Coming next (planned):
- 📜 Synced quest and story progress: your party's quest steps and story progress will advance for everyone at once.
- 🏰 Player-owned servers: host your own realm for your friends or your community, wi
- 🧹 Quidditch and other activities, built on a scripting system so realms can create their own game modes.
- 🐉 Two riders on one mount: take a friend along on your graphorn or hippogriff.
- 👑 Bosses and bigger fights, with smarter enemies that react to the whole group.
- 💾 Multiple character slots.
It installs through a simple launcher: sign in, pick your character, and play. It works with both the Steam and Epic versions of the game. Testers on our sandbox help decide what comes next, and if you hit a bug, the launcher can send logs with one click.

But this in Isidora’s manor’s cellar is clearly a mirror with a frame and not just the wall. Why say it’s a stone wall?

I don’t know about you guys, but at least I played hogwarts mystery for a pretty good time, and I always enjoyed the story. The biggest issue with the game was the energy system, which honestly sucks. If they could replicate the story, with the side quests (becoming a prefect, turning into an animagus…) included, I think itd be an even better game than the first one

I play in story mode and walked into a camp in the forbidden forest waaay over my head 😱 I drank all the wiggenweld potions I had. Not sure how many I even had. It wasn’t enough but I still did not die. So I guess you can’t die during a fight? Maybe I should keep wiggenweld then? I can continue the main story now because I had to roll away like 5 times and set enemies on fire too.

First and foremost, I want to get one thing out of the way: I'm not a Harry Potter fan. I haven't even watched the movies, and it's been a long time since I read any of J.K. Rowling's novels. However, when I watched the trailer for Hogwarts Legacy, I was captivated by what I saw. I decided to give Avalanche Software's game a chance with a fresh pair of eyes, and I'm glad I did. Set in the 1800s, the game puts you in the role of a fifth-year student at Hogwarts, where sinister events are unfolding. The story is pretty good, and Professor Fig serves as an important ally throughout the journey.
One of the game's biggest strengths is its world design. Avalanche Software has done a phenomenal job recreating Hogwarts Castle, Hogsmeade, and the surrounding Scottish Highlands. From talking portraits and wandering poltergeists to students practicing magic and magical creatures roaming the countryside, there's always something happening around you. Attending classes such as Potions, Charms, and Defense Against the Dark Arts also helps bring the experience to life. There's a tremendous amount of content, including side quests, challenges, magical beasts, puzzles, and activities to discover. The customization options are pretty good, too, although the limited voice choices are disappointing. It's unfortunate that Quidditch isn't included, considering how important it is to the Wizarding World.
Combat is another major highlight. Having played some of the older Harry Potter games on PS2 and the original Xbox, I found the combat in Hogwarts Legacy much more satisfying. There are numerous spells to learn, and combining them with combat plants, potions, and different abilities makes encounters enjoyable. The talent system and equipment upgrades give you additional ways to improve your character, while broomstick flying makes exploring the world a lot of fun. The game also looks gorgeous, with detailed character models, impressive lighting, magical effects, and vibrant environments. The voice acting is solid, and the soundtrack is absolutely beautiful. The main campaign takes around 40 hours, with plenty of additional content if you want to spend more time exploring.
Unfortunately, Hogwarts Legacy isn't without its problems. I encountered some strange animations, occasionally got stuck in objects, and had one instance where I couldn't access the menu and had to restart the game. Loading indicators when opening certain doors also became noticeable later on. My biggest frustration, however, was inventory management. Early in the game, inventory space is limited, forcing you to sell or destroy unwanted equipment. Completing Merlin Trials eventually helps expand your capacity, but I would have preferred a storage system for gear. I also found the mission boundaries frustrating on occasion, since leaving an area for too long can cause you to fail the mission. These issues are irritating, but they never overshadowed the overall experience.
Ultimately, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Hogwarts Legacy. The story is good, the world is beautifully crafted, the combat is fun, and there's a satisfying amount of content without everything feeling unnecessarily padded. The ability to attend classes, learn spells, explore Hogwarts, and discover the surrounding countryside makes this feel like a genuine Wizarding World adventure. Despite its flaws, I think Avalanche Software has created an outstanding Harry Potter game that deserves recognition. I'd recommend it to both fans of the franchise and people like me who aren't particularly interested in Harry Potter.

I have a wishlist for what I want to see in Hogwarts Legacy 2. What does everyone else want to see?
1.) More in depth school system. There should be a time and calendar system. Think how Bully worked. Those classes should influence your level and how good you are at certain things like spells and potions. Skip class? Risk detention. We should start as a first year and work our way up.
2.) More character classes and stats to represent them. In 1, classes weren't existent. Why do I NEED to be a duelist? Why can't I focus on herbology or potions? Why does my spell set need to include damaging spells, why can't I instead focus on spells that manipulate the environment? Why can't I be like Newt and use beasts? I think that actual level progression with a stat / attribute point and perk system would be incredible.
3.) More in depth spells. This one is self explanatory. GIVE US PATRONUS CHARM!
4.) Some type of multiplayer. An MMO would be cool, but may be too ambitious. But some type of "play with friends" should be available and include pvp.
5.) A reputation system and a house point system. The actions you take and the way you go about combat should 100% influence the world around you and the way people react with you. Gameplay would change significantly for the better. Morale, friendships, etc.
6.) More in depth rpg dialogue elements. Think Bethesda style. The way you talk and interact with people should influence the direction your quests take.
7.) QUIDDITCH.
I know there's probably a lot that I'm missing that I can't really think of right now, but this pretty much sums it up.

I’ve had the game for years and played it fine, but in the last few months I’ve been able to actually get into the game. It loads and stays in my taskbar where I’m unable to click on it. Putting “-fullscreen” in the options box worked once and then didn’t work again.
I deleted the entire game, including all saves, and yet it’s still not working. Has anyone else had this problem? I’m really sad I can’t play, and I’ve been through all the online forums trying to find an answer

They killed her parents and cursed her before the start of the game, then made you go with her brother to do dark arts with no way of talking him down, then made her watch her brother kill her uncle, after which she sent him to Azkaban. Why didn't they give us a way to help at any point?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

But I still have so much to do! I was kind of shocked when I defeated Ranrok on my second try (oh my gosh it was exhausting) then was told I'm done with the main game. I'm at level 30. I basically didn't do any Merlin trials until a week ago after about 6 months of playing off and on. I haven't yet earned AK but it's the last spell I need to have them all. So will I still enjoy the game if I just have side quests and exploration to do? I kinda can't believe I managed the main quests first. Has anyone else done it this way, and did you still enjoy the rest of the game? 🧙🏼♀️

I have 4 collection chests left in Hogwarts castle. I'm just wondering if there's any easy way to go about trying to find the last ones. I know I could just walk around the castle till I inevitably find it 5 hours later but that sounds horrible

I'm trying to complete everything that can possibly be completed before the final main quest, and one of those things is Literally Every in game Gear Appearance. I NEED to have all 450 different appearance choices before I move onto the next stage of my plan, and I have a problem. I have yet to find an actual list of every possible gear item.
I was wondering if anyone knew of a spreadsheet, or excel file, or website that actually has all of this info, many that I have found either have only the quest appearances or has massive gaps in the school themed outfits/robes section, so I still don't know the names for half of the stuff I need to get.

I have hogwarts legacy on pc and ps5 and both have very quiet audio while walking and running, I tried all the sound mixes still nothing, anyone else have this problem?

I don't want to be the only one at Hogwarts with the flyest garb, it makes the game feel unrealistic. I know they're NPCs but sheesh.

Hey everyone! 👋
I really want to play the original Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (2001) PC game, but I’m not sure how to get it running on a modern PC.
I’m looking for advice on where I can obtain the game safely and how to install and run it on Windows 11. If anyone has played it on a similar PC, I’d really appreciate your help!
My PC specifications:
- Processor: Intel Core i3-10100 @ 3.60 GHz
- CPU: 4 cores, 8 threads
- RAM: 8 GB
- Graphics: Intel UHD Graphics 630
- Operating System: Windows 11, 64-bit
- DirectX: Version 12
A few questions:
Will this PC be able to run the original 2001 game?
Where can I obtain ?
Are any compatibility fixes or patches needed for Windows 11?
Is there a beginner-friendly guide for installing and running it?
I’m not very experienced, so any step-by-step advice would be appreciated.
Thanks! 🪄

This MC must think theyre so special and rules dont apply to them. Like imagine you have permission to leave the school, skip lessons, and break into peoples homes and take their stuff. Plus they get special magic, are allowed to fight random people in the woods, and are never in trouble for using unforgivables. Honestly would be kinda fun to live as the main character

She is more annoying than Zenobia, and no one talks about her.
"I'll give you the book if you humor me by answering some questions"
"You can give me the book or I can tell prof. Weasley I didn't complete her task because you didn't give me the book."
Or
"You can give me the book now or the crosswands champion can take it from you."
Don't bug me, annoying girl.
