About a year ago, I got four kegs for free. Each one was worth what I paid.

One leaked from the side - there was damage to the stainless steel. I attempted to fix it, but ultimately parted it out and disposed of the keg.

One of the gas dip tubes was obviously formerly a liquid dip tube... and whoever cut it didn't have a clue.

One has something going on with the flaring around the liquid dip tube and Idk how I ever got it to not leak.

One had posts so tight I couldn't remove them with my ratchet. I ended up getting my impact wrench from the garage to remove the posts.

All of them had old beer in them.

Late last year, a brewed a beer for a friend that was going to become a homebrewer and decided not to. The plan was that I would brew the kits he purchased and keg into one of his brand new kegs. I had to replace one of the posts because it was too large for a QD, but other than that... it's got me thinking I should buy some new kegs and sell off my old ones.

You can replace the dip tube and the posts on the non-damage ones. It's cheaper than buying a new keg, hopefully. It really depends on the market in your area.
