TW: Success - 4th IUI

I wanted to follow up from my post a couple days ago. I am now 14 dpiui and finally had my beta this morning. My hcg was at 108.2. 🄲 I’m sharing to give hope, because other success stories in the later rounds helped me keep going. I was actually the least optimistic about this round because we were both sick the week of IUI, my follicles were slow growing, and the post wash was at the lowest it’s been 8 million (around 30 million prior rounds). The only notable things I changed was I added NAC to my supplements a couple months before, and I went to my IUI with a full bladder after reading some other posts about that. There’s obviously no way of knowing if this helped, but just sharing. My other stats are below because I always liked reading these. I’m anxious and not feeling out of the woods just yet! Still in shock.

Age 33
PCOS/PMOS
ttc 3 years

-5 mg letrozole CD 3-7
-Triggered ovidrel on CD 14 with a 17 and 14 follicle, 8.9 lining
-IUI was exactly 24 hours later on CD 15
-unable to BD after IUI bc hubby had to travel for work

Supplements: Ovasitol, prenatal, CoQ10, NAC

TW: Success - 11DPIUI

Hi everyone! I had my IUI on October 9. I was on 2.5mg of letrozole from CD 3-7. My clinic didn’t do any monitoring so I don’t know any of those stats and I did not have a trigger shot.

I took two Easy at Home strip tests yesterday at 10DPIUI and got very faint lines but definitely there. This morning I took a digital early detection first response test and it’s positive!

I’m scheduled to get bloodwork done on Friday so the waiting game continues. I’m still in complete shock… having gone through this whole journey, it’s weird to finally ā€œcomplete the taskā€.

I’m finding myself holding back from fully being excited because what if it’s too early and it’s not real? This is all so bizarre and I’d love to hear some advice on what to do now… šŸ˜…

IUI day twins - 10/20

Anyone IUI twins who had an IUI today? Or scheduled for one within the next couple of days? I just had my 3rd IUI today after having a 25mm follicle at my ultrasound yesterday on CD11. It was oddly a little more painful during the catheter insertion during this IUI compared to my first 2 but grateful for it to be done. 3rd IUI can have a lot of pressure behind it due to most clinics discussing IVF if unsuccessful but I view it as one more thing crossed off my list and will continue moving forward if need be until it’s our turn.

I always love the support everyone gives one another on these types of threads. This journey is hard and no matter if you’re on your 1st IUI or 9th IUI, it can be scary and disheartening so some extra positivity and support can’t hurt.

Sending so many positive thoughts and hugs to you all!!

Low Beta HCG

Hi ladies! First of all, so sorry for anyone in this group navigating this journey. I’m so sorry.

My first IUI was a success and I am currently 12 DPO. I got my blood drawn and my HCG came back at 10 mIU/mL…. I know most people get their first beta at 14 DPO so I’m not sure why my clinic did it this way.

I’m pretty nervous. I had one other pregnancy from a medicated cycle that started similarly so my hopes are low. Any success stories or reassurance? I know I’m pregnant right now so I’m just trying to take it one day at a time and accept the small wins.

I did test out my trigger shot and got my first positive yesterday on a Wondfo early result test and an early clear blue digital.

Anyone tried several IUI’s for not being able to afford IVF

Hi everyone! I was just curious if anyone here kept having IUI’s for not being able to move on to IVF. We can’t afford IVF right now so I chose to keep having IUI’s. Just had my 6th last week.

I had 3 IUIs last year, but then found out endo, had excision surgery this February and conceived my 3rd cycle after surgery (1st IUI post surgery) but unfortunately it was a blighted ovum. 2nd IUI post surgery didn’t work, now in my TWW FROM MY 3rd. My idea is keep trying IUIs if this one doesn’t work 🫤

Ultrasound during IUI cycle

How many ultra sounds are you doing per IUI cycle?

This is my 4th IUI and since the first 3 were unsuccessful, just seeing if there is anything else I can do for this 4th one. I'm 39, DOR & Adenomyosis.

Here is how my previous cycles have gone:

Cycle day 3 Ultrasound + Bloodwork

Follistim 150units day 3-7

Cycle day 7 Ultrasound + Bloodwork

Cycle day 8 Trigger (Pregnyl)

Cycle day 10 IUI

Progesterone 100mg once day cycle day 12-22

My cycle is very short, only ~22 days.

Curious if anyone is getting ultrasound/blood work after your trigger but before your IUI? I feel like this would be helpful knowledge to know if my follicles are actually reaching maturity and if my lining is actually getting thicker. Maybe I'm overthinking it. It's so hard to keep getting negative results.

Unmedicated for 1st try??

Hello everyone! I just want to know if unmedicated has a chance for first timers.

Quick profile about my iui

  1. I am doing it outside of our home country so we have to travel and take leave.

  2. We are using a sperm donor.

  3. 29 yrs old no known fertility issues aside from my 1 fibroid that doesnt bother me at all.

  4. Regular monthly cycle of 29 to 31 days.

  5. Unmedicated but clinic will provide trigger shot

I am doing an online consultation next week. But I would love to hear your thoughts. Should i do medicated or non medicated? Thank youuu

Need some suggestions

I am on my second new IUI and I’m not quite sure if it is going to work or not but at the same time I had a curious question like my IUI was done on sperm post wash of 3.94 million and a single mature follicle of size 24 MM and the size of the lining was almost 14. Can anyone talk about their experiences for something similar?

Down with a cold :(

I’m in my TWW (7dpiui) and I came down with a terrible cold. It started Sunday and I’ve had mild fevers (up to 99.3) on and off. I’m so worried this would affect my chances this cycle but can’t do anything about it. Just praying that my stupid cold won’t interfere with anything.

Please send good thoughts ✨

Drop in estradiol during monitoring

I am on my 3rd IUI and I am on day 13 of my cycle. I started 100mg clomid on day 4/5. On my day 11 monitoring appointment I had a 17.4mm follicle and 14mm follicle with a estradiol of 362, 15LH and less than 1 progesterone. Today is day 13 and my follicles on the left are 18.7 and 17.6 but my estradiol dropped to 260, LH and progesterone are still low. Why would the estradiol value decrease?

The nurse wants me to trigger tomorrrow (Wednesday) and have the IUI Friday. They don’t do repeat bloodwork or ultrasounds the day of the IUI.

I’m curious as to if anyone else has had this experience.

2nd IUI cancelled

This is our second cancelled IUI cycle, and I swear every time we’re ready to move forward with IUI, something happens!

We’ve moved from Letrozole to just Gonal-F 37.5 . Last cycle, I had a huge 23 mm follicle and surged too early, so we converted to timed intercourse.

This cycle, my follicles were developing so slowly. I eventually had one mature follicle, but because I only had one and was already surging, they converted us to TI again.

Has anyone had success with Gonal-F alone without Letrozole? Should I discuss increasing my dose to 50 IU next cycle so I can finally get on with IUI? Is that even the right move? We are in our 15th medicated cycle.

Iui timing after trigger

I have had multiple iui’s and all have been at the 24 hour mark. The last 3 were with an ovidrel trigger. I’m wondering if I should try to go in sooner than 24 hours or push for 36 hours after trigger. Anyone advice is welcome and if you have had success what was your timing like? My doctor has agreed to do an ultrasound the same day as my upcoming iui as well. She is in agreement for whatever timing I would like to do next.

I had my first ultrasound last week and baby's heart rate was 117bpm at about 6W4D. They also did find a subchorionic hematoma but said it was only 1cm. I haven't had any bleeding. Doctor said I can continue to walk and don't weight lift with more than 20lbs. Can't help but be nervous. Anyone else get this diagnosis? What restrictions were you given?

Second medicated cycle nerves

Triggered on 18th Oct and now entering TWW for second ovulation induction. We are doing timed intercourse as we asked too late for IUI and the paperwork wasn't ready! (Asked the day my period started) If this fails will do IUI next month.

Lining was 11.4mm, two follicules 22mm and 23mm on CD11 when we triggered.

Currently unexplained infertility, all tests so far have come back normal. I have a very short luteal phase of 7 days hence the ovulation induction so fingers crossed this one sticks!!!!

Good luck to everyone else out there!

Trying for a Baby for 2 Years, Wife Has PCOD — Should We Try IUI?

Hi everyone,

My wife and I have been trying for a baby for the last 2 years, but we haven't had any success yet.

My wife has PCOD, and my sperm report is normal. Today is the first day of her period, and I'm thinking about trying IUI.

I would really appreciate some advice from people who have been through a similar situation.

  • Is IUI a good option for couples like us?
  • What basic things should we keep in mind before starting IUI?
  • Are there any tips that helped you improve your chances of getting pregnant?
  • Should we consider any tests before starting?

Please share your experiences and suggestions. It would really help us.

Thank you!

Recommendations for a good OB-GYN or IUI clinic that accepts new patients- Cigna in the South Bay?

Hi everyone!

I’m looking for recommendations for a good OB-GYN or fertility clinic for IUI in the South Bay, preferably in Sunnyvale, Mountain View, Santa Clara, san jose or Los Gatos.

I have Cigna insurance and would love to hear about your experiences with doctors or clinics that accept Cigna and offer fertility evaluations and IUI treatment.
