Family reunification

Hi! I am a German citizen, my husband is a Mexican citizen, living in the US as a permanent resident. I am currently pregnant. We were debating for a long time on where to start our lives together and decided that Germany would be the better choice as a family. He came here visa free since Mexicans do not need a visa. Our baby will be born soon. Is there any way for him to stay here after the 3 months are over and not having to go back to the US? Of course take the German classes and everything else that is needed here? I already reached out to our Ausländerbehörde but they never answered and they wrote in an automatic reply that they don’t do Beratung, so I’m not even sure if they will answer. Crazy to me but yeah, that’s how I ended up being here. What forms do we have to submit? Can he travel back and forth during the process? What do they need from me? Thank you everyone and have a great start of the week!

Inside Germany Validity of the blue card extension application confirmation letter

Hi

I have applied for a blue card extension in Munich this month. My permit will.expire in the first week of February. The Munchen website says that the application confirmation can be a proof that my permit remains to be valid even after it expires. However, the letter says the letter is valid only for 6 months. What will happen after 6 months if I haven't received any decision or fiktionbeschneigung? Do I need to re-apply go get a new letter with a new validity?

Thanks

German Führungszeugnis from abroad – Anyone who applied in August 2026 and received it?

Hi everyone,
I applied for a German police certificate (Führungszeugnis) from abroad, and I’m wondering if anyone is in the same situation.
Here is my timeline:
August 25, 2026: My application was delivered to the Bundesamt für Justiz in Bonn.
Payment: €13 paid, and I have proof of payment.
Current status: Still waiting for the certificate.
Follow-up: I’ve called several times over the past 10 days and sent more than six emails, but I haven’t received any response.
I need the certificate for my Canadian permanent residence application, and IRCC has given me until December 15, 2026, to submit it.
My questions:
Has anyone whose application was received by the Bundesamt für Justiz in August 2026 received their Führungszeugnis yet?
How long did it take from delivery of the application to receiving the certificate?
Has anyone managed to contact the Bundesamt für Justiz recently or received a response to their emails?
If you applied from outside Germany, how long did you wait?
I’d really appreciate hearing about your recent experiences, especially from people who applied in August.
Thank you!

VISA process Moved from Heaven to Munich

Been living in a place where Ausländeramt Ebersberg had been available for me and contact had been relatively easy.

This easy contact had been super important for me because I am working while doing a recognition as a physio.

In the middle of a soon expiring Aufenthaltstitel I found an apartment in Munich and moved on it.

I am in a storm of details and I would like to talk to anyone somehow from the Servicestelle für Zuwanderung und Einbürgerung (SZE) to know what steps to take next.

Getting no replies on General Contacts and there are no appointments available for my topic.

How do people in Munich reach the SZE?

Does the Opportunity Card visa allow someone to switch to a work visa for a management or IT job, or for a restaurant team leader position with a salary of €2,000 per month?
