Where do I go about learning sax after starting from free jazz ?

You see, for two years, I'm self learning the saxophone. The thing is, right off the get go, I learned by listening to John Coltrane, Peter Brotzmann, John Zorn and Kaoru Abe.

I guess you can kinda see where it went. I'm pretty competent at creating an interesting texture, cool free improv, but I feel this kinda blurred something within my mentality. Something about the way I would create a tradidtional harmony.

Maybe someone can have any thoughts that would clear up my mind, even for a bit ?

Without audio/video of where you're at and a clear explanation of your goals I'm not sure anyone can really comment... Maybe post some audio or video on r/saxophone along with details regarding the issues you're having developing the skills you're lacking.

Thanks for the suggestion. I had the idea with putting a clip, but I don't have anything recent, but I'll keep that in mind

I have some basic grasp about connecting chords, but no idea about bebop language

Do that first. You jumped to master degree levels stuff but skipped elementary school. Connect chord tones first.

Coltrane has plenty of bop tunes wheres hes playing through the changes. Check out his older stuff.

Just the tried and true standard answers man. Learn the heads. Learn how to play 8th note arpeggios through the forms. Learn phrases and solos you like.

Get a teacher as soon as possible. You would see that a lot of bad habits have made their way into your playing and you would need someone to watch and listen so he can tell you. Then learn some standard, transcribe and analize what you´re hearing tonally. You would need some theory.

Most important, never forget your "free" roots, they will come handy specially when you play with the right people. Also you could have a lot of ideas that do not obey the rules you´re going to be studying, don´t deny them, they´re as important as everything else.

learn about circular breathing and you can develop what you're doing without being burdened by structure

Long tones using a tuner and a metronome. 7th chord arpeggios ascending and descending in every key.
