Journal entry My Dad died last year. I’m a 35 year old guy. It’s ok to talk about mental health and having a good cry.

made a pop-out museum (inspired by Alfred Frueh) for my wife’s journal as a surprise. The miniature paintings depict pivotal points we have experienced together in life, in a renaissance art style.

After more than 20 years since my last journal, I've got this notebook to put on paper my daily thoughts and ideas. The challenge is consistency to fill all the pages.

Journal entry I wrote this at 22 right after graduating college. I'm 25 now, pursuing a useless masters degree, still unemployed, fully financially dependent on family, clueless and don't know what to do.

Its crazy how I haven't changed at all. How I'm wasting all my prime years, broke, sitting at home, being this empty non-person. Tried therapy and that didn't work either. Lowkey just exhausted, I don't want to do anything anymore.

Discussion/Question Saving a journal I won't probably read ever again

Do you guys keep journals filled with stuff that probably will make you cry or cringe or do you just toss or burn those ones? My very first journal is filled with stuff I find hard just to think about what I wrote there and I'm not sure if just keping next to my current journals, which I re-read and consult constantly, even if I probably won't even open it again or just get rid of it.

Discussion/Question Do you name your journal? And how often should people journal?

My friend who also journals recently told me that when they write in their journal, they call it “J”. In my journal, I’ve always wrote in it like I was sending a letter to a friend but my friend’s perspective on it gave me a second thought. Is this something that other people do? (If so, what do you call it?) And what should I name my journal?

For my second question, how often are you guys journaling? For me, I usually try to journal every day when I can but I take a break on weekends. Typically I just write what happens on Monday. On occasion, there are times where I won’t write for days because I didn’t think anything that day was inspiring or important enough to write down until I think about what actually happened. I believe that people’s lives are more interesting than we make them out to be. Writing in my journal has made me realize how individual every person is and their ways of life.

Let me know what you think about my queries!

Much love - I

I wrote in that journal i thought it was too pretty to write in ...... And i would quote a line

" I don't need the page to be perfect as it is holding a bunch of thoughts that are not so perfect"💗

Discussion/Question Do you all procrastinate Journaling after big events?

Maybe this is just a me issue but I have but I've been journaling daily for a little over a year now. I love having a little log of my daily activities and thoughts.

But whenever there is an eventful day I have recently been putting them off until the next day... and then the day after. And then before I know it I have a whole week unjournaled because I'm a perfectionist and need to have all my days in order! And then now I can't remember what I did in each of those days when I finally get around to catching up eheh...

I know its not really a big issue and I could just leave a section empty for that day or journal my days out of order but I was just wondering if there's anyone else out there with this silly issue ( ;´–ω–`)

Discussion/Question Journaling Ideas w/ Cookbooks? Textbooks?

Post image
27 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I was just looking for two journal ideas. I'm just getting into journaling and I have a preference for maybe writing in a very neat format, like the photo above, or in some way to make my journal feel valuable to me. So, not a junk journal. I have been thinking about ways to use my old cookbooks and textbooks in my journals, like somehow writing about the cookbook or textbook? But I am not sure what to write. Just wondering if there may be ideas.

Discussion/Question Gaming journals: do you review games, or use the journal as part of the adventure?

Thumbnail

I want to start a gaming journal and I've noticed two very different styles. One is reviewing: logging each game with ratings, favorite moments, and thoughts. The other is using the journal as an exploring canvas, like hand-drawn maps, sketches of places, character pages, and entries written as if you were in the world.

The second one fascinates me, but I don't know where to begin. If you've tried either: Which style do you use, and why? How do you decide what to put on the page while you play? Any layouts or examples you'd recommend?

PS. Example images from other talented people for reference only

Walk in the autumn forest, and wondering a lot about Robert Frost's poem The Road Not Taken. It's a good metaphor.

Featuring my little baby turtle. The little critter is coming every where with me now.
