How to tell me you're straight trash without outright saying it?? Put three big F Trudeau stickers on the back window of your truck, like the one I saw outside North Hills Mall yesterday. Or fly a flag outside of your house on Westsyde Road that reads F Carney.
Don't like the Liberals?? Fine. But this utter lack of tact is completely unbecoming of our community and country. Grow up!!! How do we stop this??

Can we agree that we're all getting behind him??
'Cause there needs to be somebody that gets the bulk of the vote who FOR SURE(!!) isn't RHJ, but who also knows their way around City Hall. And while it can be argued that Mike's private and public interests might bump up against one-another, at least he knows that he better not step out of line because of how closely he'll be watched.
Not excited by this candidate? Fine. Don't be. We just need local politics to go back to some semblance of sanity and Mike is looking like the most-likely path to that. And yeah, maybe a vote for him is a compromise you don't want to make but that's life.

Of the mayoral candidates, who is the most likely to get elected. I just don't want another 4 years of mayhem and lawsuits etc. I don't care whose fault any of it is, but 4 years is enough dysfunction for me.

Was snorkeling the Shuswap River today and found this Phone in a sealed bag at the bottom of an eddy. It was right after a fairly notable rapid just before the Cooke Creek rec site. There was a bunch of stuff caught in the eddy so I assume someone dumped it. Phone works fine but it seem they own has already disconnected service. Lets see if we can get it back in the right hands!

Iām on my way to the polls today because I have to leave town in the next few days. I donāt have much time to get into it, but who should I NOT vote for? I have ideas of who to vote for, but I donāt have a full slate (which I realize is ok). TIA.

Hey guys, I came from a country that doesnāt have āwinterā. Our winters are usually rain and temp go as low as 8-10°c when itās worse. But thats about it.
I came here during the summer and it was going fine so far but these past week , it had gotten to get difficult. I know youād laugh at me if i said 7°c got me cold but thats the reality and Iām even struggling to sleep at night because my feet and hands get super cold.
We have AC in our apartment but it only seems to be bringing in cold air, tried changing the mode and increased the degree to 30, still cold. So I came to you guys for help.
I have bought blankets (comfort wast getting me any warmer) and it seems fine but still the room is super cold when i wake up and makes it hard to get out of bed.
So dear kamloopsians , give me all your winter tips. If there are things i need to buy and the hacks. Thank you.

Just wondering how they arrived at this

Mine is that the car wash down in valley view is a money laundering front. It took so long to build
r/Kamloops • u/MasterJcMoss • Aug 27 '26
The old car dealership on the North Shore (sorry, The Shore), across from Safeway.
I guess the last tenant was Spirit Halloween?? (But this year decided to shift its business to Valleyview.) This For Lease property is quickly becoming a ungodly eyesore. Who's going to move in, honestly?? Can I get some kind of agreement that this all needs to be torn down and the land redeveloped??

Why is it that every driver on the highway westbound between Columbia and Pacific exit feel the need to drive at 65 km/hr? The speed limit is 90km/hr. I understand if there is a large loaded truck going slowly, but it is mostly just regular cars and SUVs going far too slow. ļæ¼
It is so unsafe to deal with the vehicles trying to dive out of the slow lane and into the fast lanes because people are driving at these slow speeds⦠just follow the speed limit. Itās not that hard, and safer for everyone.

Not sure who to vote for...
Nelly - Non Profit and they tend to just spend without making a dime.
Mike O' - Part of the existing council. Not voting for him. Plus, very shady.
RHJ - Part of the existing council. Created choas, very incompetent leader.
Ivor? Ray? Kris?
Help me out people!

What do you think that this city is missing, that you might find elsewhere, that would make this city an even better place to live? And encourage people to come and visit! Iām just curious to hear peopleās suggestions as putting the idea out there can be the catalyst that makes something worthwhile become a reality.
A kind of park? School? Clinic? Rally? Festival? Parade? Gym? (Ninja gym! Indoor bike park!) Awards show? Water park? Resort? (Nudist resort!) Sporting event? Retail store? (Kelowna just welcomed Ikea.) Door-to-door service? Hit me!!

When I was growing up in Kamloops in the 80s and 90s, there's no way I'd have been casually walking around someone face down on the ground. Now? It's so common I don't even blink an eye. My son said something to me the other day, basically like "how do we know it's not a normal person who had a heart attack?" or something close to that. Made me sad that our city has become this walking/falling dead zone.

Iāve lived in Kamloops for 6yrs now and while I like many things about living here, Iāve had nothing but annoyance and wasted time when it comes to dating. Iām a financially well off male, 38, have a house, healthy and have no real glaring issues working against me. Iāve joined many different activities in town and stay active. The people in the groups are surface friendly but they all seem to be cliquey and old friends. The apps are just abysmal, I regularly get matches but the conversation fizzles out, no one will commit to meeting or itās avoidant type women who want online pen pals. Itās a complete desert.
Iāve lived in Europe, South America, Calgary, Vancouver, Van Island and travelled extensively. All of them had better dating markets. I really donāt want to make a drastic move and consider myself a resilient person, but facing being along forever in Kamloops is pretty depressing, especially in the winter.

This is gonna be the last thing I post on here for a while, I swear.
Is 'When Bad / Good Things Happen In Kamloops' the most toxic group page on Facebook??
Of course it isn't, but WOW-O-WOW does it want to be!! I'm not a member but the other day, my FB algorithm fed me a post where someone on it made mention about how a deer was struck by a vehicle when it attempted to cross Westsyde Rd. It mentioned how other deer had surrounded it, mourning understandably, and could drivers just be cautious of this family, still so close to the busy road?
And just how do you think this went over??
Some gross jokes from the kinds of chuds you would expect (and MY GOD, is Kamloops home to too many), but more disturbingly, miserable comments from aging women enraged that they shouldn't have to alter their driving habits for any reason, including wildlife that might wander onto our streets. The lack of empathy was utterly disgusting. Am I REALLY surrounded by this many sh*tty people?? WTF??
So yeah, good job Zuck and Meta!! You guys are CRUSHING IT, as they like to say. (And by crushing it, I mean aiding and abetting the tearing of the social fabric with the help of bad faith foreign actors, China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea to name a few.)
There are days when I just wish the gov't would step in and say, "Sorry kids (Canadian citizens), no more social media for you. You had the chance to use it wisely but, instead, decided to use it as a juvenile excuse to spit vitriol at online randos (ex: Don't you DARE make the suggestion that the oil and gas industry is in any way bad/suggest I get vaccinated/tax me/spend my tax dollars on ballet/make me eat my vegetables), join cuckoo-for-Cocoa Puffs far right wing causes and show off smiling pictures of your young kids that ANYONE (Yikes!!) can see.
This isn't going to happen, because that would show the kind of leadership that doesn't exist anymore for fear that the lawyers will come after them (which they would). And, of course, the chorus of "But muh freedumb!!!" So, I guess it's time for me to finally divorce myself from this miserable, digital dystopian nonsense for the good of my own mental health.
Who's with me??
Do I see one person?? TWO!! TWO PEOPLE?!?
Sure. Fine. Great. I'll take it.

I moved here a couple of months ago and I have been trying to find anything that pays until I find one in my career. For information, I am 22m and I have been working as an IT admin, Website and software developer for 4 years now and I had a bit of an experience with cybersecurity roles too. I also worked as a night manager for a 3 start hotel. So Id say im well rounded.
What I canāt seem to find is the simplest consistent job there is. I even heard TRU students struggling with to find minimum wage jobs.
So whatās your observation on this matter? Is there anyone who has faced the same issue? Or are they opening that we are not finding? Give me your thoughts. Thank you

Iāve been offered an opportunity by my company to transfer from Edmonton to Kamloops and Iām currently looking into what the cost of living increases would realistically be and what I should be watching for in terms of unexpected challenges Iād run in to if I did make the move. Iām mainly looking to see what people pay on average for rent, gas, insurance, utilities, and other expenses. Another thing would be how expensive used vehicles are as my current vehicle would not pass an out of province inspection.

I donated to Hope well Pregnancy Centre because I know that they help low income pregnant women, but my sister is telling me that theyāre one of those Christian pregnancy centres that steer women away from abortion? It doesnāt say that on their website and the clinic is run by RNs so I donāt know if I believe her?

So, who are we all rallying behind in the upcoming provincial election?? I think most of us can agree, that like RHJ, itās time for Peter and Ward to be shown the door. š Buh-bye!!

As the title suggest, I am in the US, and will be traveling to Kamloops to see my partner. This will be my first time visiting, heck, even my first time entering Canada. I know my travel dates aren't ideal, depending on weather as it'll be last week of March and some of April. I am looking for some activities to do, in or outdoors, a little of both would be amazing. My partner lives there and knows the area but I'd like to surprise him by finding things for us to do. That way he can be less of a host and just enjoy our time together. I've did research obviously and found the common touristy things to do and see but I'd also quite enjoy finding hidden gems, those often times only known to locals. I'm also open to any other suggestions or helpful tips while traveling there.
