Just as Clark once took away a perfectly replicated chair, if someone were to take and sell a perfect replica—and it were subsequently discovered to be the very same product as the original stolen item—the police would be thrown into confusion. Furthermore, a complex, urban-legend-like narrative would likely spread throughout society.

I know, people say it’d be “boring” but just imagine some of the parts where realistically, it’s dead silent. Take Pirate Clark chasing Mary, there’s an ominous soundtrack in the foreground, but for Mary, it’s dead silent, except she can hear big P yelling.

What if the Backrooms remembers someone from far away?
Small still lifes running around somewhere?
That's a strange thought.

Anyone who watch the series would know that the interrogation scene 100% happened outside of the Backrooms/Complex given that we literally saw Async employees taking Mary to the Threshold and wouldn't make sense for them to just suddenly have the interrogation to be in the Backrooms.
But then Phil said this line which cause many people who didn't watch the series to think they are still in the Backrooms which they aren't.
I know in hindsight, it isn't that deep and probably isn't that important to the lore but I'm still curious on why he said it like that.
My 2 main ideas are that either Mark duplass misspoke and the mistake was overlooked
or
that Phil didn't meant it as in that they are still in the backrooms but in a "Can you explain on what you did that cause you to be in this facility?" way.

What I’m saying is, they didn’t seem to report it despite it being literally shown it’s moving and seems like a living thing. This is their first exposure to life in the Complex, yet in Pitfalls and Report this seems like they saw life for the first time when encountering Marvin’s Friend?

hear me out: after it has been established that async is an MRI company and "don't move stay still" might be a refference to the distorted image you get on an MRI when the patient moves inside of it during the scan, now think about this: the MRI like machiene async uses to open the threshold is called LOW PROXIMITY magnetic distorrtion system, indicating that it operates like on very small distances. what would happen if an earthquake "moves reality" in the very moment they operate the LPMDS?
