Discussion 💭 I think those of us living outside K should keep posting on this sub so that it doesn’t die out completely.

As for those who get off of our oppression and our voices being muzzled, know that this does not change anything for Kashmir or its resistance. We will resist as long as we exist. This isn't new to us, you've banned newspapers and organisations with larger reach before, martyred our leaders and people who meant much more to us than this sub, and we've risen only to resist again, and we'll keep resisting.
Long live Kashmir. Lassin Mouj Kasheer.

I’ll be visiting India and had a few free days in my itinerary. Wanted to ask Kashmiris for their perspective on visiting the area? I’m supportive of Kashmiri people and against the active colonization and denial of their rights.
I want to listen to Kashmiris, support their businesses and learn. Travel is not the only way and I want to humbly ask do you recommend avoiding traveling to this area for now? If not, how can I best visit and support the area and its people? Forgive me for any ignorance.

Salam! As an ethically Kashmiri who was born and raised in the states I noticed the difference between how Pakistanis treat Kashmiris vs how the indians treat us. Pakistanis the second they realize I am Kashmiri they go all out, they give the utmost respect. They have even told me they believe in an independent Kashmir including their part😭they’re so nice and humble vs the indians, they treat me like an outsider and have a weird guard up once they find out I am Kashmiri, a lot of them just start talking politics but I keep away from that, I was wonder why are we so hostile towards Pakistanis? I don’t live in an area where I get to see a lot of Kashmiris so the second closest that feels like home are with the Pakistanis. I feel as if we have a bad perception towards them when our energy should be towards the other group. Just a Kashmiri who has experience with both sides.

India was known as the Golden Bird till the British looted it. Indians were oppressed and enslaved and whatnot. Some people were supporting the noble cause. And fighting against injustice and oppression. There was blood. There were tears. There was suffering and torment.
Simon Commission 1927 Official name: Indian Statutory Commission
Some of us already know about this; for those who don't, for them — This commission was established to decide India's political future. In total, there were seven members. And the fascinating part was that none of them were Indian. A foreign group deciding someone else's future. Indian leaders were outraged. And the famous slogan: "Simon, go back" came into existence
After a long walk to freedom, India was free! Now what was the point of telling all that? You will see.
Friedrich Nietzsche famously said — "He who fights with monsters should be careful lest he thereby become a monster. And if thou gaze long into an abyss, the abyss will also gaze into thee"
George Orwell in Animal Farm — Moral of the story The animals were fighting oppression. They were demanding freedom and were fighting for a noble cause. But in the end, we saw how they became the oppressors.
India is not much different from it. They represent what Nietzsche and George Orwell were trying to convey. The oppressed are now oppressors. The colonized are now colonizers. (Same goes for Israel) The more you fight oppression, Injustice, the more desensitized you get. Intentionally or unintentionally, you start participating in it.
Kashmir — oppression and occupation for years and years, and it is going to hit a century now. We are being oppressed, enslaved and subjected to systematic humiliation and torment. - Media oppression. - Transnational repression. - Most militarized zone. - Longest internet shutdown in the whole history. - Abduction of innocent people. - People used as human shields. - Mass rape. - Half-widow. - Massacres. - And the human rights violations
We have to prove loyalty, whatever that means Loyalty on our own land. Fascinating! Isn't it?
No freedom of speech, and if you are outside and you speak, your family members get targeted.
A mother is still roaming here and there, trying to find one whom none has heard.
Half widow: A term specially dedicated to us.
Sexual violence, used as oppression.
Many more
Kashmiris living under oppression, and suddenly the internet shuts down. A valley full of people gets isolated, aloof and alienated from the outside world. What are their oppressors thinking? What are they plotting? Are they going to kill more? Now, in the parliament, one of the biggest decisions for Kashmir is going to take place: its future. A parliament meeting dedicated to us, and none of us are allowed to be present there. A foreign group is deciding our future! And then Article 370 gets removed. If you don't understand how important it was, it gave us the right to have our own flag, the right to own this land, and many more things. (Basically the Simon Commission but on another level)
And not to forget the promise they made at the beginning! The promise that is inherited and that we still live by. The promise that should not be a promise. The Plebiscite Right to self-determination! A birthright that we have been stripped of. How they were fighting the oppressors, and now they are doing the same atrocities.
And the most heartbreaking part about it is that Indians now They abuse us. They call us terrorists. Invade land, oppress their people, and when the people resist, label them as terrorists! Classic oppressor move.
Hope!

salaam saarni. i’m working on a project to aggregate all the historical literature into a single source. i’m searching for all the possible literature (books, photos, any sort of media).
if anyone has a collection that would be great or direct links to the content.

To everyone concerned about the subreddit being geoblocked:
There's no need to start creating new subreddits and splitting the community up. Until the geoblock is lifted, you can continue using the usual r/kashmir or r/Yarbal to stay connected and keep discussions going.
Creating multiple new subs will only scatter the community across different places and make it harder for everyone to stay connected.
For now, let's stick together, keep the discussions alive, and avoid unnecessary fragmentation. Hopefully, this gets resolved soon.
Stay connected, everyone.
Hehermulkas thokke.

I'm wondering whether they will harm users of this subreddit who used to post and comment, especially the mods. I'm worried about it because there have been mass protests going on in Delhi and other states as they want some ministers to resign again and there have been some internet restrictions in Delhi. I'm wondering if they will frame us like some big terror group that they have busted, and then we will be their premium scapegoats

Hi, I'm autistic and I have a very repetitive diet, with Chicken Fried Rice being my go-to meal. I've ordered from quite a few restaurants on Zomato and Swiggy, so here's my ranking based on taste, chicken quality, portion size, consistency, and value for money.
Prices are approximate totals from my order history, so discounts, combos, and extra items can affect them.
My ranking, best to worst:
Current champion. Great flavour, excellent chicken, huge portion, and they actually follow cooking instructions. The rice plus dessert deal makes it even better.
Probably the closest to the Chinese-style Chicken Fried Rice I like, with green onions and no overpowering flavour. Great mint sauce, but they kept ignoring my cooking instructions, so I stopped ordering.
Fantastic portions for the price and genuinely tasty food. Unfortunately, the sauce was bad, and the rice sometimes arrived soggy, almost like it had been cooked the previous day.
Tasty rice, but the chicken was tough and bland. Worth considering when there is a good discount.
Cheap and reasonably sized portions, but the taste is inconsistent and often bland. You get what you pay for.
Good value, especially the combos with a chicken burger and fries. The taste itself is pretty average.
Used to be a reliable cheap option with good portions, but prices went up and the chicken started becoming mushy. It fell quite a bit in my ranking.
Decent, but there are better options.
Also decent, but nothing that makes me choose it over the better places.
The portion-to-price ratio was terrible in my experience. I haven't ordered in a long time, so I can't comment on its current quality.
Mediocre and not worth the money. Honestly, one of the more disappointing options.
Alright, but not good enough for me to order again.
Bland. Never felt like reordering.
Bland and a small portion.
Way too expensive for the portion size, overly salty, and they ignored my cooking instructions even after I called them.
The portion size was straight-up robbery. Absolutely terrible value for money.
Might genuinely be the worst-tasting Chicken Fried Rice I've tried. I haven't ordered in a long time, so maybe things have changed.
All style, no substance. My order was refunded.
That's my list based on my own orders, not a claim that these restaurants are objectively good or bad. I'm curious whether anyone else from Srinagar has tried these places, especially Black Bear Brew, and what your experience has been.
While putting this post together, I realised I've ordered from over 97 restaurants on Zomato and Swiggy. Covering all of them would be a massive hassle, so here's my top 18 Chicken Fried Rice restaurants in Srinagar, ranked from best to worst, along with why I stopped ordering from each one and how much I paid.
Note: I used Ai to rephrase the Post to make it more comprehensive

The issue isn't their competence. The issue is that they don't give patients enough time, not even 3 minutes. So far, I've been to 3 psychiatrists (all private). I have anxiety and a neurodevelopmental condition, and I'm leaving all three for the same reason. The moment I walk in, they barely listen, ask one or two questions, and just write prescriptions.
And some of these medications are dependence-forming. I can't afford to screw up my life just because they don't have 5 minutes to listen, even after I'm paying them.
I've now completely given up on them, but I'm thinking of trying the one at Paras Hospital (Dr. Sabreena Qadri, I believe) . a little more expensive, but if she actually gives me time, I'm fine with that
