Could I get constuctive feedback, please? My genre leans on experimental, etc.

Hi, guys. So I've been producing for a year now (October 2025). On my own. Just FL Studio and my laptop. In my untreated bedroom. I do the mixing, writing and singing all on my own.

I feel like my music is too experimental for it to occupy a space. I still haven't released a track I don't know when I'll be ready even though there are few people who want some of these tracks released on Bandcamp, but I'm scared. I've just had a breakthrough with sidechaining after a year and I want to believe that through the ears of the more experienced producers here, that they would notice that in some of these tunes, hopefully.

What I would love is for anyone who has extra time to give me some constructive feedback on my own songs. My friends don't care and I just let them be so I don't have any choice but to ask strangers. Do you hear a strength in these tracks. What are my best qualities so far as a producer/songwriter? What are my weaknesses. What needs more work? Please constructive only. If you don't have anything helpful to say, just scroll up. Please, I don't wanna deal with any hateful comments because I've already had enough of it from the FL Studio beginner subreddit.

These are the tracks:

  1. https://voca.ro/1hT0SSLL030W (this is the first track i ever finished. i worked on it for 6 months i think. without any knowledge on music production at all aside from being a music lover. i just really wanted to express my tiredness. still to this point, this remains untouched and i am now trying to give it a new face with this track now that i've gained some new knowledge after a year: https://voca.ro/198FyQ9fZuUe

  2. https://voca.ro/1897UuR1zh7T (short clip i worked on whilst taking a break from the 1st song)

  3. https://voca.ro/1i7C8PP6V3nD (sparse and all over the place. was not able to rearrange this because i've grown tired of it.)

  4. https://voca.ro/13u4Rr3HJG5S (2nd full track i ever finished. just like the first 2 tracks, this hasn't been sidechained yet. so hopefully, i'll be able to work on it more. but i'm losing interest in coming back to it because some important files or samples within the song have mysteriously gone missing. something i can't remake again. personally, this is my favourite track of mine so far.

  5. https://voca.ro/1jB5of1YfbRF (working on this at the moment)

  6. https://voca.ro/1lSUWvzI62pe (trying to make a song in my mother tongue (tagalog)

(the lyrics mean, "i can't understand what i'm feeling. the gravity of losing you is still haunting me" something like that)

  1. https://voca.ro/1i7C8PP6V3nD (this is very recent like the new track under the first one)

I feel like an open wound in front of you, guys. But I just need to do this so I can gain new perspectives and move on. Ty for your time!!!!

Somewhat defeated.

I've been without my car, and speakers, for some time. Like over a year.

I never relied on the car test as I always thought it was a crappy feedback system.

I have been producing for about 15 years. I have made about 26 new songs (reflips & originals) in the last 3 months and have really been on a creative drive.

However, I took a ride in my car after getting repairs and notice my system was working again.

All those years, all that time wasted, but my mixes sound like poo.

And it's crazy because my headphones, my mixes are pristine. I not only use consumer headphones, but also studio monitoring headphones. Additionally, my monitor speakers sound great. My home system sound phenomenal.

But in the car, it sounded garbage.

I feel like I've done so much damage that I wouldn't even know where to begin to re-learn anything

Does learning proper mixing really require another person in the room?

Or can this be done by yourself at first?

I'm having a rough day and have been on again off again about even continuing. It just feels like wasted energy for something that just makes me feel like I was being a narcissist all those years thinking my poo didn't stink.

Like is this why my shi ain't getting clicks? Lol

I like singing, need help with Mix/Mastering

Hello everyone.. first post here. So.. I like singing and some months ago I bought a condenser microphone to try and record something at home. I'm using Cakewalk Sonar. Problem is.. I know literally nothing about mix and mastering. The recordings sounds embarassingly bad (especially when exported) and I was wondering if someone out there was willing to.. maybe check a song and help me fix it?

Begginer Question

Hey everyone! I've been listening to this song, and since I'm just getting started with music production, I'm still learning about the different elements of a track. I'd really appreciate it if someone could help identify the sounds used in this song, especially these two:

  1. What is that sound at the beginning of the song that sounds like a piano or a celeste? (I'm still not sure what a celeste actually is.)

  2. What is that deep bass sound that comes in with the beat drop? I feel like it's a bass or sub-bass synth, but I'm not sure.

If possible, I'd also love to learn how to recreate these two sounds myself, especially the bass sound, using a synthesizer. Any tips on how to achieve them would be greatly appreciated!

These are my main questions, but I'd be really happy if someone could break down the other elements of the song as well!

The song is called "Pelo Ódio" by the artist Enygma.

Thanks in advance!

Drum Tuning!

Hi all - in Logic I am unable to find a way to identify the pitch of my kick/snares in the Drum Kit Designer tool. Because when using this tool you don't see individual sample in the Quick Sampler (like you do if using Drum Machine Designer), I cannot identify the pitch in order to then tune the drums to match the song. Have tried many suggestions from google but its all very difficult and seemingly inaccurate. How do you guys tune drums from Drum Kit Designer function in Logic please?

Learning to produce EDM in Abelton Live 12 Suite

Hey everyone,

I am totally new and I love all types of genres EDM. My passion for music has driven me to want to begin learning how to produce it myself and eventually perform. I just recently installed Abelton Live 12 Suite and beginning to look at it from scratch is very intimidating. I’m currently looking for structured courses to learn the basics of the program and making tracks to later polishing skills through advanced courses when the time comes. What are your top recommendations for what I’m looking for? Paid courses, YouTube, anything is welcome. I am just looking for the best material that is not so difficult to follow as I can at times be a slow learner and tend to hit the rewind button a lot. Thanks in advance!

How long can I record for

I’m not a good musician. I know nothing about music production recording or anything, but I enjoy a jam. Me and my boys are feeling stupid and came up with something I can 3 days of pain. I wanna make a song that’s 3-4 days long just jamming and nothing else. I don’t know how to record and the only experience I have is doing sound for my church growing up. I have 2 questions

1: how would I go about keeping a recording going that long.

2: I have an idea how I’d like it to sound the set up and all that but again am a bit dense and lacking in knowlage.

Any help would be much appreciated. Ideas and thoughts are also welcome even if they are mean that’s fine.

I need help on coming up beats in general, or at least SOMETHING

Okay, I need help.... I've decided to really invest myself in music (my main goal is to hopefully make New Jack Swing-type music (hell, who knows, I might actually make an EP lol), but so far this is what I come up with USING FL Studio Trial (It's fucking stupid; they don't allow you to use FL Studio Cloud). THING IS....I'M LOST.

Fine, I've been following a tutorial on FL Studio, and I discovered the bare basics via this tutorial: https://youtu.be/3oKVpTHC-0M?si=buNWVvu3LYVMAUL5 But in terms of my monkey brain working out, it's just painfully obvious I need a telescope on making actual beats; any ideas on what I SHOULD do?

I have no idea what to do at this point. Please help me. Im struggling

Hello,

I am looking to understand how to make music as someone who is also studying acting and musical theatre. I am a singer-songwriter, I want to be able to make my own music

I thought that waiting and hoping to start a journey of learning music production at community college would be ideal and better for me.

Everything about it makes it feel like a chore, if something is slightly off. All of a sudden im not passing the class.

Its very frustrating but I thought maybe thats just how it goes.

Im now at a breaking point where I still want to learn music production and be able to make music like my favorite artists. All of them learned on their own.

I have a keyboard piano at home but havent practiced it in a long time. I know that it helps when making music.

I was hoping to see what advice anyone can give me and if i should just focus on acting and musical theatre in college and be self taught in music production.

I have a student trial for cubase through vintage king but I also have garageband.

Please help me out? I already messaged my professor. I am going through a lot mentally and I do come from low income. Which a lot of people cant seem to realize can have its own issues but I try my best to internalize instead of project emotions outwards towards others when other people arent even a part of whats happening to me at home.

Prolific songwriter trying production

So I'm a musician, I use a boss rc600 and acoustic guitar along with mic and i make full loop performances , they always go down well when playing for people and the songs are decent ive always used a producer but £££ .

I tried using suno and go some great results but it's not me so I thought id start learning and I'm really happy with where I've got to but I need some advice on where to go.

Heres the start of my current project.

Hit me with it. Be brutal i can take it

I have the full song written, I need to redo the vocals with a stronger take so focus on production rather than what needs re recording if that makes sense
