Hi, guys. So I've been producing for a year now (October 2025). On my own. Just FL Studio and my laptop. In my untreated bedroom. I do the mixing, writing and singing all on my own.
I feel like my music is too experimental for it to occupy a space. I still haven't released a track I don't know when I'll be ready even though there are few people who want some of these tracks released on Bandcamp, but I'm scared. I've just had a breakthrough with sidechaining after a year and I want to believe that through the ears of the more experienced producers here, that they would notice that in some of these tunes, hopefully.
What I would love is for anyone who has extra time to give me some constructive feedback on my own songs. My friends don't care and I just let them be so I don't have any choice but to ask strangers. Do you hear a strength in these tracks. What are my best qualities so far as a producer/songwriter? What are my weaknesses. What needs more work? Please constructive only. I don't wanna deal with any hateful comments because I've already had enough of it from the FL Studio subreddit.
These are the tracks:
https://voca.ro/1hT0SSLL030W (this is the first track i ever finished. i worked on it for 6 months i think. without any knowledge on music production at all aside from being a music lover. i just really wanted to express my tiredness. still to this point, this remains untouched and i am now trying to give it a new face with this track now that i've gained some new knowledge after a year: https://voca.ro/198FyQ9fZuUe
https://voca.ro/1897UuR1zh7T (short clip i worked on whilst taking a break from the 1st song)
https://voca.ro/1i7C8PP6V3nD (sparse and all over the place. was not able to rearrange this because i've grown tired of it.)
https://voca.ro/13u4Rr3HJG5S (2nd full track i ever finished. just like the first 2 tracks, this hasn't been sidechained yet. so hopefully, i'll be able to work on it more. but i'm losing interest in coming back to it because some important files or samples within the song have mysteriously gone missing. something i can't remake again. personally, this is my favourite track of mine so far.
https://voca.ro/1jB5of1YfbRF (working on this at the moment)
https://voca.ro/1lSUWvzI62pe (trying to make a song in my mother tongue (tagalog)
(the lyrics mean, "i can't understand what i'm feeling. the gravity of losing you is still haunting me" something like that)
https://voca.ro/1bPp1j8An69u (potential sequel to song #1, sparse, an idea from last year)
https://voca.ro/1i7C8PP6V3nD (this is very recent like the new track under the first one)
I feel like an open wound in front of you, guys. But I just need to do this so I can gain new perspectives and move on. Ty for your time!!!!

new to music production. pretty proud of this track for where i am at right now but i think its definitely a little too repetitive and isn't mixed that well
i would also like a new DAW recommendation this one isn't that great tbh

So recently I see a lot more verbiage consistent with 'Processing' or 'Post Processing'.
I'm not familiar with what part of the mixing and master process 'processing' is considered. Maybe I refer to it differently. But this part of everything confuses me because sometimes people refer to different fx chains like eq, compression, clipping and limiting when talking about processing yet other times they are talking about distortion, reverb, convolving and delay.
I just get a bit confused with terminology because if processing is something unique to any of what I mentioned, I'm hella confused and it's hard to learn shit when people just say I did all this to the patch and then added processing.
They don't go through processing chains, etc. like since they are teaching you the patchwork they expect you to know, which is fine. But idk what they are talking about and some times I just stop watching because they use it so frequently that I'm just like 'this is above my head rn'.
Any input?

I've been without my car, and speakers, for some time. Like over a year.
I never relied on the car test as I always thought it was a crappy feedback system.
I have been producing for about 15 years. I have made about 26 new songs (reflips & originals) in the last 3 months and have really been on a creative drive.
However, I took a ride in my car after getting repairs and notice my system was working again.
All those years, all that time wasted, but my mixes sound like poo.
And it's crazy because my headphones, my mixes are pristine. I not only use consumer headphones, but also studio monitoring headphones. Additionally, my monitor speakers sound great. My home system sound phenomenal.
But in the car, it sounded garbage.
I feel like I've done so much damage that I wouldn't even know where to begin to re-learn anything
Does learning proper mixing really require another person in the room?
Or can this be done by yourself at first?
I'm having a rough day and have been on again off again about even continuing. It just feels like wasted energy for something that just makes me feel like I was being a narcissist all those years thinking my poo didn't stink.
Like is this why my shi ain't getting clicks? Lol

One of my friends hit me up with a good opportunity and it is that he wants me to compose music for a short film which is supposed to be released in December first week this year. And I really wanna commit on this project but the thing is that I've never done this before matter fact I never thought I would ever be composing music ever in my life. I have no clue how to start or do anything and if anyone can help me please do reply.

Hello everyone.. first post here. So.. I like singing and some months ago I bought a condenser microphone to try and record something at home. I'm using Cakewalk Sonar. Problem is.. I know literally nothing about mix and mastering. The recordings sounds embarassingly bad (especially when exported) and I was wondering if someone out there was willing to.. maybe check a song and help me fix it?

Hey everyone! I've been listening to this song, and since I'm just getting started with music production, I'm still learning about the different elements of a track. I'd really appreciate it if someone could help identify the sounds used in this song, especially these two:
What is that sound at the beginning of the song that sounds like a piano or a celeste? (I'm still not sure what a celeste actually is.)
What is that deep bass sound that comes in with the beat drop? I feel like it's a bass or sub-bass synth, but I'm not sure.
If possible, I'd also love to learn how to recreate these two sounds myself, especially the bass sound, using a synthesizer. Any tips on how to achieve them would be greatly appreciated!
These are my main questions, but I'd be really happy if someone could break down the other elements of the song as well!
The song is called "Pelo Ódio" by the artist Enygma.
Thanks in advance!

Hi all - in Logic I am unable to find a way to identify the pitch of my kick/snares in the Drum Kit Designer tool. Because when using this tool you don't see individual sample in the Quick Sampler (like you do if using Drum Machine Designer), I cannot identify the pitch in order to then tune the drums to match the song. Have tried many suggestions from google but its all very difficult and seemingly inaccurate. How do you guys tune drums from Drum Kit Designer function in Logic please?

I would appreciate some feedback on vocals, kinda limited on bandlab, but not bad with a free daw?

Hey everyone,
I am totally new and I love all types of genres EDM. My passion for music has driven me to want to begin learning how to produce it myself and eventually perform. I just recently installed Abelton Live 12 Suite and beginning to look at it from scratch is very intimidating. I’m currently looking for structured courses to learn the basics of the program and making tracks to later polishing skills through advanced courses when the time comes. What are your top recommendations for what I’m looking for? Paid courses, YouTube, anything is welcome. I am just looking for the best material that is not so difficult to follow as I can at times be a slow learner and tend to hit the rewind button a lot. Thanks in advance!
