bot comment.. This has nothing to do with the guy ON the train playing along.

I think is reflection of where our reading comprehension stands. At least in the US. It has got dramatically worse over the years, and first hand evidence what teachers have been warning us since covid.

I have a handkerchief in every bag just in case I get to do the
"Au revoir, Pee Wee!! Au revoir!!"

u/dodgrile 11d ago
You can see the brief second of trying to work out what's happening before going all in. Amazing bit of work from mr 'two hands on the window' there

extra fun fact: the person sitting on the window later found this viral post on instagram and commented: “Bro that's literally me 🤣 I gave it my all”

I believe him. The both hands to the window was critical to the success!

Honestly, I'm glad they saw the post, because they were probably wondering about it all day. "Did I accidentally take his bag? Do I know that guy from school? Was there something wrong with the train and he was trying to warn me?"

u/Horskr 11d ago
Was there something wrong with the train and he was trying to warn me?
Oh god, that would have been me. "I think he may have been saying.. 'THERE'S NO ONE DRIVING THE TRAIN!!'"
10 minutes later. "Sorry hon I just need to check on it.."
"Excuse me, yes can I talk to the engineer?... Oh nothing really I just kind of need to make sure he exists and is here is all."

Bringing back those old 90s feels. Nowadays you'll just get a text, if you are lucky.
17
u/dontmentiontrousers 11d ago
True. I haven't waved to anyone in twenty years. At this point, why even have arms?

Some of my most romantic and memorable moments were dramatic goodbyes. Beautiful girls waving to me from the airport concourse windows.

Make a YouTube channel and do things like this to bring YouTube back to how it use to be with harmless things like this, love it. I'll be there.

Best part of all, this is in Belgium. You need explicit permission to post someone's face online. Post someone's face online without their permission and you'll have a lot of paperwork to handle

Hahaha wow I love this, more of these wholesome pranks and less of the other kind please

u/SammyPoppy1 11d ago
My favorite hate-read is to look at posts like this and see how far i have to scroll to see "oh wowie gee. Look at this good ol wholesome fun. What a great prank, both sides end up laughing and everyone had fun. No one got hurt. What a great prank!"

Sometimes I get so angry at the waste of human potential and then I see this. This godsdamn masterpiece.
21
u/0xsergy 11d ago
It is still technically a waste but it's a waste that gives positive energy so good on ya lad and thanks to the OP for sharing.
39
u/Neatojuancheeto 11d ago
So not a waste. Making others happy, smile, laugh etc is one of the most important thing people can do.
14
u/somethingofwhim 11d ago
Making someone happy isn't a waste - that should be the whole goddamn point

u/09Trollhunter09 11d ago
I’m gonna do this
197
u/Jisan_Inc 11d ago
Im not, but i want you to.
67
u/torturekiller2025 11d ago
Imagine how the person on the train felt after that. Confused, yet happy, I bet.
13
u/pipsqueakpanda4 11d ago
I want to, but I am the type of person who would fall and really hurt myself in the process, so I also will not
3
u/DConstructed 11d ago
I want them to do it to you and I want to watch. Please respond with enthusiasm.

Men will literally commit to an unscripted 1940s wartime melodrama with a total stranger and never speak again.

I don't know, I don't see how delayed it is, so no way to tell :(
(I'm joking, NMBS improved so much with less and less resources)
5
u/synalgo_12 11d ago
I never thought I'd be grateful for NMBS punctuality after spending time in Germany because somehow it's worse there.
4
u/Dahlia_and_chickens 11d ago
Yeah, was also my first thought. But I don't recognize the train station.
5
u/Stokstaartjeh 11d ago
It seems to be Ath. You can see the reflection of the station sign on the train.

6
u/Particular-Brain8363 11d ago
I guess so, seems like the m4 Belgium train model
3
u/CoffeeInParadise 10d ago
It's clearly a Desiro. It's a self-propelled train . M4 are carriages and need a locomotive to have motive power.

u/ImAClosetNerd 11d ago
100%, those red doors and piss-yellow tinted windows were a staple in my daily commute

If you can, definitely listen to the album it's from, "Hurry Up, We're Dreaming". Front to back, full of fantastic songs.

This is why we have free will. To bathe in the sheer joy of the human experience which flows from these little acts of kindness.

regular people are generally boring, but it's because they don't have any ideas. bring a fun idea to them, and we can usually all have fun together
I also hate life
2
u/AncientEldritch 11d ago
Find a local haunted house to work at. Not kidding, the number of people that will 100% commit to a bit will surprise. It's a ton of fun.

She was not a fan.

My grandma does this. It's very cute.
Also, it doesn't quite hit the same in Western Europe these days, with these fast-accelerating EMUs.

I live in NYC (kinda known for "not friendly" though they're wrong). I walk under the Manhattan to Roosevelt Island tram every evening to go home. Everyone waves at that thing, it's weird. Makes me smile though 🤷♀️

u/Fearless_Throat_1368 11d ago
All fun until you trip and that flailing arm is cut in half on the rail track.... don't run near the rails🏃♀️

Oh, I thought he was running because he realized he was supposed to get on this train

Only needs to add the part of falling onto the knees while staring with tears rolling down as the train disappears in the distance

This reminded me of a video i saw where a japanese guys job was he would hire himself out as a friend for some mundane moments like greeting/ saying goodbye to someone at a train station. It wasnt this dramatic, but was sweet for ppl who didnt have anyone in their life to do that for them.

Person with train dude could go one of two ways. Who is he? I have no idea. They both laugh End You must know who he is. Are you sleeping with him?
1
u/StarkTheGnnr 10d ago
I would gesture what 90 times before thinking this guy missed the train and feel sad about it the rest of the week.
