I think you like being the mopey guy. Because that was a totally unnecessary thing for you to say. You could have just been unhappy and moved on instead of letting everyone know about it and bringing the mood down. But misery loves company, I guess?

That reminds me of a joke. A mama vulture and 2 baby vultures are sitting down for dinner. She says "now, you kids remember that there are starving children in Africa! ..... so save room."

My moms favorite story of me as a kid: she used to use the 'starving poor kids guilt trip' on me whenever I would struggle to finish my plate. One time she was going on about how some kids were so hungry they'd eat from a trashcan if they had to. Apparently I got up and started putting my food into the trash. My mom started yelling asking what I was doing. I told her I wanted the kids to have a good meal if they went dumpster diving in our trash. 🤣
