Movies/TV/Music What if the Mandela Effect is the systemic anomaly in the Matrix ?

Hear me out before you dismiss the post. We all have things that are not explained, that is why you are a member of this group. We have a memory or dozens and hundreds where our reality doesn’t line up with the one we are experiencing now. Everyone has a few, but in order for that to be possible I see three possible theories.

A) Time travel or different dimensions created the edits (Hallidon Collider, UFO tech or which ever theory is plausible to you).

B) We all have false “Hallucinatory” memories of how things are/were. And we are now all technically insane.

C) Or we live in an editable world, ie some kind of Matrix like the movie. We are either in different newer “versions” or “updates” hence our different memories and ME experiencee. This could be better explained with the Neural Network theory (see youtube : The Matrix Explained [link at bottom] for more details) but the general idea is we maintain the Matrix (Illusion) thru neural network of everyone plugged into the Matrix. But as we doubt the “reality/simulation” we are in we perpetuate the anomalies (Mandela Effects) thru out the system with in our Neural Network. We know it’s fake and see the errors and when the Matrix edits or changes something our internal network knows the difference and fights back. Thus growing our “anomalies”. This systemic “miscalculation grows” and eventually kills the system as we ourselves reject the BS of this simulation.

This theory explains a lot of things in the world, like why there are very different classes. How our politicians and leaders are so out of touch with everyday life. Why they do such odd shit to “torture” us more (Matrix last movie with the Analyst touches on this). Why so many people do insane and dumb shit and do not care about the world or lives or environment. It even gives a plausible case as to how the ME is perpetuated or even exisits. The way the world tries to confuse us or keep us distracted. But the main point is it would give plausible ideas on how come we experience Mandela Effects in our memories and experiences.

The Martix Explained on Youtube

Check out this channel and pay attention to the Neural Network and how the anomaly will grow till a “Neo” is given “birth”. I’m not saying we expect a messiah or anything but it can lend weight to many “irregularities” we experience.

I’m sensing some bias with option:

B) We all have false “Hallucinatory” memories of how things are/were. And we are now all technically insane.

Getting a detail wrong in something that has no bearing on our lives, does not mean somebody is going “insane”. I would be more certain to call the person who claims they never made a mistake “insane”, rather than one that could admit they make mistakes.

1

u/CanadianCampingBear 14d ago

True.

I was using “hallucinatory” to say we remember it one way even tho it is no longer seen that way, thus in a sense a hallucination, sometimes a shared one at that. Need to brush up on my thesaurus terms to be more accurate or on topic I guess.

6

u/MrPlaney 14d ago

Well, the going insane part was a gross misrepresentation too.

3

u/theg00dfight 13d ago

“Being wrong” is not a hallucination

1

u/CanadianCampingBear 12d ago

Nor is having something you can or cannot prove. Just because I am asking a theory does not make it "wrong". What causes the ME ?

Time travel ? Heinlen dealt with this. So did "Back To The Future" & "Loki" both explore options to it. Neither are wrong because you cannot prove either ! Hence they are both plausible.

I am not wrong, I just said I have theories. Prove me wrong with humanities limited scope of reality. We can not even prove DARK MATTER but we know it is there. Universal exspansion.

If one person experiencing something it is hallucinatory. And multiple people experiece stuff is delusional. But a majority seeing things is just accepted as reality ? Nothing is real, and it is all subjective until you understand everything. If a majority of us were imagining things, would we look at the rest as just not seeing things that must exists, and call them delusional. it's subjective till you know the whole truth. Humans have a very narrow scope of reality.

u/grizzlor_ 9d ago

These are works of fiction. They aren't wrong because they aren't attempting to be right. Art can't be wrong.

Factual statements about the world can be wrong however. In fact, a hypothesis must be falsifiable to be scientific.

Prove me wrong

You're asserting an unfalsifiable hypothesis. Yes, the universe could be a simulation. There's no way to prove that it isn't. A hypothesis can’t be right unless it can be proven wrong.

u/Soggy-Mistake8910 17d ago

What if it's not though?

1

u/mr_orlo 17d ago

Not which one, they offered three?

6

u/Soggy-Mistake8910 17d ago

OP also used the word plausible several times but obviously don't know what it means

-1

u/CanadianCampingBear 17d ago

plausible means there are a combo series or likely outcomes or two or more possible outcomes.

I also used theory. Do you know what that means ?

10

u/Soggy-Mistake8910 16d ago edited 16d ago

Plausible means seeming reasonable, probable, or believable based on the available information or common sense. Example: "Her explanation for being late was entirely plausible given the bad weather and heavy traffic." Synonyms: Credible, believable, likely, conceivable, reasonable. Antonyms: Implausible, unlikely, unbelievable, far-fetched. In some contexts (especially when describing a person or argument), it can also carry a slight nuance of being superficially convincing or persuasive, even if it might lack proof or end up being untrue upon closer inspection. Theory has more than one meaning. Which are you using

0

u/CanadianCampingBear 14d ago

Plausible meaning it has a believable base.

Our world has patterns shared thru out it such as Fibonacci sequence. Or quantum observance. Things we cannot currently explain but possible observe and try to understand. We are currently grappling with artificial inteligence and teaching it. Thus simulating a reality for that intelligence so we know a simple simulation is possible. Heck if I wanted to imprison a mind I would put it in a simulation with some things that don’t line up or are unexplainable just to keep it confused. Thus pulling the line “living in a land of confusion” to keep a mind searching for a unified theory, think it was the 3 Bodied problem that touched on this.

So Elon Musk and others have put forward that we could live in a simulation. They think it’s possible. Or that if you have a high enough understanding, maybe our worlds and universe merely become quantifiable things to control and manipulate like values in a computer program. Genetics is clearly a program. Organic matter is a machine. Organic chemistry is merely math and circuits.

Thus I’d say it is plausible that we could live in some sort of simulation.

5

u/Soggy-Mistake8910 14d ago

You might believe it but that doesn't make it plausible.

0

u/CanadianCampingBear 14d ago

Ummm others think it possible so that makes it plausible. Maybe unlikely in your world but that means nothing to the definition of the word.

4

u/Soggy-Mistake8910 14d ago

The degree of plausible is directly related to likely. Just because something is possible doesn't mean it will ever happen. Something possible, that is extremely unlikely is not very plausible and vice versa.

1

u/CanadianCampingBear 12d ago

If you eliminate all other possibilities the one left no matter how unplausible it may seem must be the truth or our current running theory. - Sherlock Holmes (i think)

Quantum Theory is more quotable on this. We can observe it so does that make it so even tho we do not think it is plausible that photons and electrons can be in multiple places or do not organize until observed. Double Slit Experiment.

8

u/transsolar 16d ago

You might want to look up "plausible"

15

u/chipz-n-gravy 17d ago

D) We're human, our brains are not perfect, and sometimes our memories can be unreliable

0

u/mr_orlo 17d ago

That's "B"

10

u/Glaurung86 17d ago

It is not.

There is a D) False memories and we are all just fine.

10

u/Practical-Vanilla-41 17d ago

It's not that things are unexplained. People are just refusing to accept the explanation..

11

u/Glaurung86 17d ago

Exactly.

1

u/CanadianCampingBear 12d ago

Cool so you think we know all we are, and will be ? We in essence know everything ? Or is refusing the explanation just still question ng things, sort of like questioning the Covid Vax and if it was necessary ? or Dark Matter ? Or Quantum Physics ?

-2

u/mr_orlo 17d ago

B literally mentions false memories

6

u/MrPlaney 16d ago

B presupposes that the person is “insane” or has hallucinatory memories, when that simply isn’t true.

The fallibility and malleability of memory is well understood, and is the way memory normally works.

5

u/silentsurge 16d ago

It mentions false memories and then says that having false memories means we're all insane.

The main explanation of memory is that it's a combination of factors around how human memory works from a biological perspective and how it can be affected, altered, and recalled with inaccurate information, especially over time.

B does not cover that.

1

u/CanadianCampingBear 14d ago

Sane vs insane is merely what a majority except vs what is outside that majority. It does not imply who is correct, just what the group accepts as normal.

5

u/chipz-n-gravy 16d ago

It also literally says we're all technically insane

1

u/CanadianCampingBear 12d ago

And insane is simply accepting or believing what a majority does not except. Mental illness is often deemed insane yes ? Now imagine a world where we eventually discover the reason why you or someone else hears voices ? Are they still insane ? No because a majority now excepts the reason why something happens, thus it is widely excepted and no longer considered insane.

Technically you are insane believing you are right. You can have theories that you are right. Ideas, or working hypothesis but you can not claim to be correct yet. Not until human understanding and science expands.

5

u/chipz-n-gravy 17d ago

It really isn't

10

u/Glaurung86 17d ago

We're all fine and false memories are a feature of our Memory, not a bug.

7

u/i2aminspired 16d ago

As I get older, I indeed realize my memory ain't nearly as good as I had previously boasted.

11

u/aproposeverything 17d ago

The way the world tries to confuse us or keep us distracted.

Very few people are "distracted" by Mandela Effects, the vast majority of people are capable of admitting they were mistaken about something and move on with their lives.

3

u/theg00dfight 13d ago

Your option B gives away your whole game.

How about Option D: you didn’t pay attention to inane details bc most of us don’t, and when you saw something that you were wrong about, you concocted a whole theory of the universe instead of admitting you misspelled Froot Loops

0

u/CanadianCampingBear 12d ago

So most of us do not see the inane details ? Are you one of the "most" or one of the "few" ? Yes it is whole heartedly a theory ! 100%. Because it is based on my subjective experiences and collection of memories. Do I know the 100% complete truth ? while I could hope so I KNOW I do not as there are things that still escape my theories and tests. Hence why I have Theories.

Did I concoct a whole universe ? No 100% not otherwise my life would be simpler and easier. I did not ask or want to know what I see and understand. Merely observe things and try to understand why it is happening.

Froot Loops have nothing to do with the Arguement (argh-you-meant) unless you think you I hooped the froot loop there Two-Can-Sam. The world is a play on words in the English language. Thats why you can spell so many words in different ways. Color vs Colour !

*fruit loop - A "fruit loop" is informal slang for a silly, eccentric, or crazy person

2

u/forcemonkey 14d ago

I feel like it’s a bit of all of them.

2

u/AcrobaticShirt8 12d ago

I'm more inclined to go with A, although I wouldn't call different dimensions edits. I also think that the reason some people share memories of things that didn't happen is because we've unknowingly jumped timelines or figured out how to view events in different timelines without realizing it (awhile ago I found out that I'd had the same dream as a bunch of people who had witnessed an outcome of an event contrary to what happened in this timeline and have been upset about it all ever since and refuse to dig deeper into it because I'm so irritated by being stuck in this timeline 😭). I kind of feel like we visit or even exist in these dimensions when we sleep...which makes cats the ultimate time travellers 🌚

As for B...the problem is that we're all collectively having some of the same "false" memories which isn't supposed to be a thing that happens, so it's more likely imo that we are collectively being gaslit by the elites so as to cause us to not trust ourselves and make us easier to control. As I've seen some evidence of things being changed after the fact I'm more inclined to believe that over collective shared insanity.

As for C...I don't really understand what you're saying and don't really want to watch a video about it either, but reality absolutely is a simulation and this one kind of sucks, lol! I've always felt that I experience reality differently to others, an experience that is only heightened when I go on a "trip", and while I've only done limited travelling, I've heard that certain "vehicles" can produce similar outcomes and encounters with similar beings...which I find incredibly distressing and will probably avoid trying those specific vehicles on account of kind of sort of completely hating this reality to begin with, and have heard that people who use this specific vehicle and encounter these beings have trouble readjusting to this reality once back because it feels like a cartoon...and I for some odd reason understand what they mean by this already, so can't imagine how much worse it'll be if I use that vehicle. It might just break my brain...or my heart.

So D...all of the above to some extent I guess, lol!

u/ComradeKits24 17d ago

It is genuinely hilarious that you think this more plausible than human memory being falliable.

-1

u/CanadianCampingBear 17d ago

I think it’s funny human kind thinks they know so much. So many things are still being discovered every month in science yet you think our current understanding is 100% ? Where was science 100 years ago? Where do you think it will be in another 100 years.

Laser with DMT is rather interesting, people report seeing code in a diffused laser. Now I’m not sure how scientifically controlled many of these videos are but they are things science cannot explain.

Lets take voices in your head via Schizophrenia and Schizo effective disorder. People hear voices all the time, so much so that it is a defence in cases in Law. Yet no science can explain it nor can MRI or science show where these voices come from. We know computers and organic computers (brains) can have errors. But if there are too many errors occurring one must start looking for a cause.

You will not find that cause by assuming our knowledge is complete or absolute. There are tons of things that happen that are not yet explained yet you are gonna follow what someone else told you despite having possibly experienced evidence that contradicts it ? Doesn’t sound like you are taking a scientific approach to this, more a religious or closed minded take on it.

The “collective false memory phenomenon” is well understood. This isn’t something that was just discovered 10 years ago, or even 30 years ago. There is ample research on false memories, and collective memories.

Laser with DMT is rather interesting, people report seeing code in a diffused laser. Now I’m not sure how scientifically controlled many of these videos are but they are things science cannot explain.

People on hallucinogenics, seeing hallucinations isn’t something groundbreaking.

Hearing voices is not a defence in case law, unless you are talking about pleading insanity, and even then there is more to it than just claiming you hear voices. Science understands why schizophrenic people hear voices, but we aren’t talking about schizophrenia. Normal people do not hear voices all the time. A disability is not required to experience the Mandela Effect.

Throwing sci-fi words at a phenomenon is not science. What you are claiming is akin to saying, “what if gravity is caused by quantum static electricity, keeping us on the ground?” There are some things that are well understood by science, and a claim for something new would have to first be possible, replicable, and fit the cause better than the current explanation. Accepting scientific facts, is not close minded.

Actually they understand that Schizophrenic people hear voices but can not prove where they come from. They can only reason that due to increased dopamine, causing the hypothalamus to over fire as to why the subject believes they are real. Still the understanding of where the voices come from is still not understood.

So Christopher Columbus found America by believing he will fall off the edge of the earth ? We understood virology because we accepted that the reason you were sick was someone cursed you ? or human kind understood how birds fly before we understood aerodynamics ? Atomic power was our imagination ? Einstien predicted it before we could use it. It is all real phenomena established on real experiments from even tho it is something you can not see. "If you can not see ultra violet light, you can see the detector fire off to say it (UV) is there, even tho you can not see it with your own eyes, yet it leads to a quantifiable reality in a measured device or subject and most people can see or agree what that is." - Tyson Degrassi on Does Ultra Violet Light exist ?

So gravity is bending of space-time to the best of our knowledge. But you can not see it yet you believe in it and see it's effects. yet we do not understand what the gravity particle is but can simply see it's effect. So you are here on the ME page ? Do you know how ME works or are you simply seeing it's effects ?

They do understand it though. It’s a brain glitch, involving a person’s inner voice, to not be recognized as their own. The voices don’t come from anywhere else … they aren’t real voices, just misattributed internal monologues.

So Christopher Columbus found America by believing he will fall off the edge of the earth?

No, that’s a myth. Christopher Columbus was not under any impression the Earth was flat.

We understood virology because we accepted that the reason you were sick was someone cursed you?

We understand virology, because we can see viruses.

Tyson Degrassi on Does Ultra Violet Light exist ?

You mean Neil deGrasse Tyson?

Most of us know why the ME works. It’s memory.

Similar to how our dreams are coherent and consistent, but tend to have a plasticity to them, there's a plasticity to our reality.

10

u/MrPlaney 17d ago

Our reality seems pretty consistent to me. I’ve magically flown in dreams, but I’ve never heard of somebody magically flying, or dead people returning, or monsters appearing, etc.

u/CanadianCampingBear 14d ago

Never done drugs then have you ? Now drugs are a difficult topic but if you dwell into Acid and MDMA and even DMT. Many documented cases of hallucinations that are too much the same to be imagined hallucinations. From CIA cases and studies to daily life experiences from people to the downright weird an unexplained.

Where I grew up many people reported seeing the “acid elf” and multiple people would describe him the same.

The laser DMT experience is also as such. Along with many of the 1950-70s CIA experiments with drugs and substances. Many declassified files about the paranormal, unexplained and pseudo science. Heck we now have confirmed existence of ufos.

I myself have had many shared experiences that others talked about and described to this day. Does it make me wrong or insane ? No. It means my reality is just bigger than what is traditionally accepted, sort of like understanding science but the church is trying to prosecute you for wizardry in the dark ages. Or just observing something that does not fit the current definitions of what we know and searching for the answer. You know like a thing called scientific exploration or debating.

No they aren’t? They are just hallucinations, usually created by your state of mind at the time of ingesting. They are nothing more than hallucinations, even with Salvia. There is nothing about them being anything more than just that.

The laser DMT experience is also as such. Along with many of the 1950-70s CIA experiments with drugs and substances. Many declassified files about the paranormal, unexplained and pseudo science. Heck we now have confirmed existence of ufos.

The laser DMT is nothing more than a hallucination. It’s not mind boggling that people are going to see patterns, after taking a strong hallucinogenic. Nothing declassified about paranormal or extra terrestrial has ever been confirmed as true. We’ve always known about UFO’s. The big debate was whether they were extra terrestrial, or man made. They are not extra terrestrial.

I myself have had many shared experiences that others talked about and described to this day. Does it make me wrong or insane ? No. It means my reality is just bigger than what is traditionally accepted, sort of like understanding science but the church is trying to prosecute you for wizardry in the dark ages. Scientific exploration does not begin by making outrageous claims that have no evidence or actual science.

Please don't bring drugs into the Mandela Effect subject.

2

u/MrPlaney 12d ago edited 12d ago

I didn’t?

Edit: Check the post I replied too. Though, I still think they had valid reasons for bringing it up, in the context of what they believe the ME is caused by.

1

u/Aggravating_Cup8839 12d ago

This is a conversation about drugs. It would just make the Mandela Effect subject more confusing.

2

u/MrPlaney 12d ago

Which is why I shut it down as nothing more than hallucinations. I didn’t bring up the topic though, I replied to it.

1

u/Aggravating_Cup8839 12d ago

Please don't bring drugs into the Mandela Effect subject.

1

u/mr_orlo 17d ago

Things are consistent for me when I'm not paying attention or distracted. Start observing

10

u/MrPlaney 17d ago

Things are consistent even when paying attention. The world doesn’t suddenly change because people are paying attention to certain things.

3

u/mr_orlo 17d ago

Many people have the opposite experience as you, that's why we're here

6

u/Glaurung86 17d ago

They may believe they have had that experience, but there's no evidence they did nor is there any evidence anything changed.

1

u/mr_orlo 17d ago

So you pick option b?

6

u/Glaurung86 17d ago

Absolutely not. People are not insane. They are fine. It's how Memory works.

1

u/mr_orlo 17d ago

Kidney punch and kidney belt are evidence

7

u/Glaurung86 17d ago

Kidney punch is evidence that the kidney is in the lower back area and has always been there. There's even a medical test to detect the health of the kidneys called CVA Tenderness Exam, aka the kidney punch test, aka Murphy's kidney punch.

The kidney belt was detailed to protect internal organs, not just the kidneys.

2

u/MrPlaney 17d ago

Those many people may “think” something impossible or improbable has happened, but those many people would be incorrect. That’s why we’re here.

-1

u/mr_orlo 17d ago

There's a story of someone from like the 1400 floating in front of the whole town

5

u/MrPlaney 17d ago

There are lots of stories from the middle ages of things happening, which didn’t really happen. The only difference is, now we understand why some things are possible, and some aren’t, and we have the tools and technology to record and verify amazing feats.

It’s 100% impossible for somebody to float, or levitate above the ground, and even if the story is true, (which I doubt), it was likely either made up from an observer exaggerating, or completely fabricating what he saw, and over time the story became more and more fanciful. If the story was true.

6

u/Glaurung86 17d ago

There's no evidence for this. There's plenty of evidence that people misremember things all the time.

1

u/mr_orlo 17d ago

There's evidence every night billions of us dream

8

u/Glaurung86 17d ago

Dreaming is not reality.

1

u/CanadianCampingBear 12d ago

so dreaming and something all of us do, ok most of us do, is not reality ? I think you mean dreams do not often seem governed by what human kind tries to define reality as.

3

u/Glaurung86 12d ago

No, I mean that what you dream has nothing to do with reality. They are two separate things. Dreams are a reflection of your personality and experiences, but they are not reality.

2

u/my23secrets 16d ago

What you’re referring to as “plasticity” is how a person can tell the difference between dreaming and waking states.

You’re saying you are unable to discern the difference between dreaming and waking states?

0

u/mr_orlo 16d ago

Placebo seem like a dream effect, beginners luck, terminal lucidity. Correct, when I'm dreaming it seems like I'm awake and when I'm awake it can seem like a dream

3

u/my23secrets 15d ago

You’re literally saying you don’t know what’s real and what isn’t.

2

u/mr_orlo 15d ago

Don't pretend you do, anything is possible

3

u/my23secrets 15d ago

When I’m awake I can tell I’m not dreaming.

1

u/CanadianCampingBear 14d ago

Ever had night terrors ? Most can not distinguish the “awake” vs “sleeping” when experiencing a night terror or sleep paralysis.

1

u/my23secrets 14d ago

Where exactly are you getting the data that supposedly substantiates “most can not distinguish”?

1

u/CanadianCampingBear 12d ago

experience and readings. Why do you wake up from night terrors with elevated heart rate or breathing ? Yet a nightmare you may not ? Or do ? Because the mind has a hard time distinguishing real from the dream in a night terror, many or most or some think it is real until they awaken from the dream. It took me a long time to gain control of night terrors and stop them.

Simply put they feel real

3

u/my23secrets 12d ago

None of that has anything to do with your claim.

Your claim can easily be dismissed as bullshit when have no data to substantiate it.

1

u/mr_orlo 15d ago

How do you determine that you aren't dreaming? What's the "tell"? Have you never experienced an anomalous event? Ask the loved ones in your life about the experiences they have had.

0

u/my23secrets 15d ago

I’ve already answered the first two questions.

What exactly do you mean by “an anomalous event”?

1

u/mr_orlo 15d ago

Where did you answer? An event that makes you think reality has plasticity, like obe, telepathy, precognition, remote viewing, etc

1

u/my23secrets 15d ago

I answered in my first reply to you.

So-called “anomalous events” turn out to have unexceptional explanations.

u/Draper-Wood-758 4d ago

There's a large difference between dreams and reality.

Dreams can often project something that looks like happens in the current moment of sleep when the reality is, the person is still sleeping.

1

u/mr_orlo 4d ago

Can you explain the differences?

0

u/Draper-Wood-758 4d ago

When a person dreams, the person is still sleeping, and how the rooms in dreams may be different from the room appearances in reality, like AI where appearances are added or subtracted that don't or do necessarily need to exist in a dream, depending on the story of the dream.

A real out-of-body experience would be the opposite of what is perceived in dreams, like seeing beyond the sky of the physical realm whether outer space or solid dome above Planet Earth.

1

Rooms are different? How do you explain when they are the same? If I dream of a room exactly the same as the reality room, then it's real because it's the same? If I leave a room and you alter the room, and I come back and it's different, now I'm dreaming? I think we could come up with better criteria to determine if an experience is real or dream

The proof that dreams are just dreams is because in reality when waking up during a dream, is in the same room on the same bed, proving that the dream doesn't currently happen, although or "even though" the dream appears like it's currently happening for real.

  • Ironically, the dream may hear the words "same bed" repeatedly and said-faster to be interpreted as a codeword for Sinbad because that's often how reconstructive dreams are.

However, without the dream reflecting Shazaam because it takes enough force for the dream to reveal Shazaam how the person wants Shazaam to be revealed in a dream. 😅

Purpose: "same bed" as interpreted and misheard as Sinbad as an example to proof how dreams can be reconstructive or reflective to reality.

How do you know you haven't just woken up from this dream yet?

I meant it as an example of "same bed" heard repeatedly and said-faster as to be interpreted as Sinbad as a codeword, but dreams can often be very confusing to decode, especially how symbolic they can be.

The Placebo Effect is where positive feelings occur during a fake treatment like a pill, and is very unrelated to dreams being connected to reality, in which, dreams may be a reflection, but not as if a person wakes up without physical sight, and happens to go into all such places and events that occur in dreams that never occur in reality, but almost looks like it occurs in reality, but for a moment until the person physically wakes up, and is still in the same room the person slept on the same bed.

There can be very real side effects that sugar doesn't create.
