I swear I haven’t noticed Mickey Mouse ever having a tail until today.

5

u/456puff 11d ago

I often forget Curious George doesn't have a tail, either. I know in Curious George's case, it was for ease of animation back then. I'm assuming it's the same for Mickey. When I Googled pictures of Mickey, there's a mix of both tail and no tail coming up.

Sort of along those same lines, fun fact! Did you know the reason a lot of old cartoon and video game characters wear gloves is because back when they were created, it was much harder to animate hand? The big chunky gloves meant less detail and made it easier. That's why Mickey and friends, along with older Mario characters, have them.

2

u/silentsurge 11d ago

Part of the aesthetic in early cartoons is directly related to Minstrel Shows, which the gloves are an important part of the look. Same with the dances and eyes.

It was more keeping with those tropes than the ease of animation (though it did help)

3

u/456puff 11d ago

Oh shoot, I didn’t know that. Thanks for telling me.

3

u/silentsurge 10d ago

I find that bit of history really interesting because of how much influence minstrel shows still have in American culture. It's an interesting and enlightening deep dive to dig into Minstrel Shows and Blackface and see how recent it really is.

Plus, it's considered the first truly American vaudeville act/play art. Which is certainly a legacy...

2

u/WhimsicalKoala 7d ago

Definitely one of those topics where it's fascinating to learn the history of.... And you have to be very careful who you share those "fun facts" because being interested in something like that can easily be taken out of context.

2

u/silentsurge 7d ago

Look bro, if I can't casually reference Shirley Temple wearing blackface in an everyday conversation, are we really living in a free society anymore? Lol

(for legal purposes this is a joke)

2

u/WonheeL 12d ago

Lots of his plushie dolls don't; good call.

3

u/Conscious_Bag_443 12d ago

Is it just me or did good blood pressure use to be 130/80. I really feel like in school I use to be told that

5

u/ChiliBeans4Lunch 11d ago

As more research is done, new guidelines are issued. It used to be 140/90. Then 130/80, and now it's 120/80.

1

u/WonheeL 12d ago

Interesting. Considering it is "under 120/80" now I wonder how we were supposed to remember that....

3

u/Plastic_Effort_9403 12d ago

i remember an episode of milo murphy's law ending with a unique 'windowless van' end credits song instead of the usual 'it's my world and we're all living in it' but i am not able to find it online. i did find a song called windowless van but it doesn't add up because that video only has a couple hundred views and today is my first ever time listening to it [assuming we don't count this memory i claim to have of hearing it in the end credits of a milo murphy episode]

2

u/456puff 11d ago

Milo mention!! I love that show! Windoowless vannnnn. I don't remember what you're talking about, but I also have only watched it within the last handful of years on "totally legal" websites. Can you link the video you're talking about?

Also, I just have to brag. I saw Weird Al in concert earlier this year and he did the show's theme as a surprise song. I was literally screaming, it was awesome! 😄

3

u/HotChildhood1274 12d ago

Bend it like beckham

Wasnt the movie largely about lesbians? I vividly remember the movie revolving around the two chracters dating and their families accepting it and the cross-cultural marriage and so. I even remember referencing it in conversation with others and its just baffling to learn its not about that, there are no explicit gay scenes or lines, and the pakistani girl is straight and marries a guy? Theres just no way but everything I search online affirms this. Am I crazy?

also did niche become pronounced nitch around ~2018 or is that also just me being dumb

3

u/Practical-Vanilla-41 11d ago

There is a gay character, but it's a guy.

2

u/HotChildhood1274 10d ago

hm maybe where i got it from i just so strongly remember it being a film about lesbians that I was actually shocked to find otherwise. maybe it was jsut the gay dude coupled with the themes of interracial dating stigma put together but I could have sworn.

2

u/Icanfallupstairs 10d ago

The film certainly came out in an era where many women that took sport seriously were thought to be gay. Even today women's sport has a lot of lesbians in it, it's almost a cliche.

It wouldn't surprise me if just due to stereotypes of the time people inferred gay undertones.

1

u/HotChildhood1274 10d ago

thanks for le heckin gold kind stranger

2

u/WryAnthology 8d ago

You might be remembering that Jules's mum is convinced her and Jess are in a relationship and spends time panicking about that. Some of the girls on the team are lesbians, and Jules says it's no big deal if they were (but they're not). There was also something to do with a misunderstanding over someone seeing them hugging and thinking they were making out?? Can't quite remember but gay panic was definitely a theme.

2

u/MrPlaney 11d ago

also did niche become pronounced nitch around ~2018 or is that also just me being dumb

Apparently “neesh” is the British English pronunciation, and “nihtch”, is the American English pronunciation. I’ve only ever heard it as “neesh”.

6

u/joshyzaz9 11d ago

Brits got it right then 😂

2

u/Floccus 9d ago

Mr Banks in Mary Poppins pronounces it nitch which always felt off to me as neesh is the more common BrE pronunciation. Both pronunciations have been used alongside each other for, at the very least, decades.

1

u/456puff 11d ago

I've heard niche said both ways in the last handful of years.

1

u/WhimsicalKoala 7d ago

I feel like niche is like data, in which there are multiple pronunciations and they are correct.

For me, it's contextual. A physical niche (like where you'd put a statue) is nitch but the more abstract version is neash

u/Fabulous-Pause4154 8d ago

The recent death of Apollo Software Engineer Margaret Hamilton led to a discussion about actress Margaret Hamilton in the movie 'The Wizard of Oz'.

The skywriting sequence.

I thought that the message was written in cursive. No... Block letters.

u/nyancatzforlife 9d ago

Fred flinstone having blue tunic spots or something.. like this.

2

u/Bearded_Dragon-9612 7d ago

It's an animal skin he's wearing.

What animal is orange with blue spots?  🙃

-1

u/nyancatzforlife 9d ago

I one time think I saw like the flintstones when I was a child, and I could've sworn he had blue tunic spots like that, it feels so odd that he doesn't have it.

-1

u/nyancatzforlife 9d ago

Probably specifically when I was downstairs in our living room, and I swear to god I kinda remember him having blue tunic spots, i cant remember when but he did have them

2

u/EnthusiasmOdd4261 13d ago

I'm watching the movie dogma today, Oct 4 2026. 25th anniversary version of the movie. I believe it has a mandela effect. There is a scene at a strip bar, they make the joke that someone sold their soul to make E.T. famous. Earlier in the movie they mention E.T so the joke would be funny. In the this version the scene is changed to say someone sold there soul for Home Alone to get famous.

8

u/Glaurung86 13d ago

It was Salma Hayek's character, Serendipity, talking about her past life as a Muse.

  • Serendipity: I'm responsible for nineteen of the twenty top-grossing films of all time.
  • Bethany: Nineteen?
  • Serendipity: Yeah, the one about the kid, by himself in his house, burglars trying to get in and he fights them off? I had nothing to do with that one. Somebody sold their soul to Satan to get the grosses up on that piece of shit.

And it was shade that Kevin Smith, the writer/director of Dogma, threw at John Hughes, who wrote Home Alone, after Smith thought that Hughes had abandoned doing teenage coming-of-age films like Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink and The Breakfast Club in the 1980s, for kid films like Home Alone and Baby's Day Out. There's even an earlier scene where Jay and Silent Bob are talking about John Hughes and those films Kevin Smith(Silent Bob) loved. Kevin has talked at length about this over the years and that he regretted saying those things about John Hughes.

It was always about Home Alone and it's funny because the film was not named in that scene.

There was this one Roblox game called Broken Bones IV where if you were to get what called a Ligmatization, there would be a long oof with an echo. BUT I have found out that the long oof does have the echo, but its actually more distorted, if any of you remember this, please let me know.

"Heart of the beast" trailer with morgan freeman?

I saw the trailer for "heart of the beast" back in june and it got me so excited to watch it, id watch it like once a month until the movie was released. I remember a black actor, pretty sure morgan freeman, was the pilot of the plane who suffered a medical emergency causing the crash with brad pitt and the dog being passengers. They crash and I think brad trys to pull him out to shore but morgan dies. Does anybody else remember this?

3

u/Glaurung86 10d ago

I saw the trailer about 2 weeks ago and it was Brad Pitt who was flying the plane and the dog saved his life by pulling him out of the water. There was no other person on the plane.

2

u/Practical-Vanilla-41 10d ago edited 10d ago

I agree. OPs description makes me think of the awful Kate Winslet/Idris Elba "The Mountains between Us". He likely jumbled up Elba (black passenger) with Beau Bridges (white pilot), and there is a dog...

1

u/fartedcupofawater 10d ago edited 10d ago

no I didnt confuse it with "the mountains between us" it was definitely a cesna type plane and only 2 people and a dog, brad pit and a older black man flying who faces a heart attack, and they crash into water in a forest setting. This is the only movie i've waited to see in the last 6 months. I watched the movie and aware it only shows brad and the dog. in the original trailer im recalling, brad hitched a ride. he sat on the right side and tries to secure the dog before crashing. in the movie, he has a heart attack so he isn't able to.

1

u/beemo143 10d ago

i saw it it was all there

2

u/fartedcupofawater 9d ago

im sorry I didn't understand, do you mean you saw the part with brad pitt being a passenger?

2

u/beemo143 9d ago

yes, he was the passenger in the plane

1

u/beemo143 10d ago

is it not available at your theatre?

4

u/Loose_Television958 11d ago

10/5/26– I saw that Jim Bakker just passed way, but I thought he did many years ago. I knew Tammy Faye did but my first thought was to come here to see if anyone else remembered that??

4

u/Rare-Independent5750 10d ago

I thought he died way before she did, too

2

u/ByteInferno 8d ago

In this version of Earth, you can rotate the globe such that it shows only water with a few tiny islands (including Hawaii). In the version I came from, that wasn't possible, and you always saw chunks of at least one continent.

2

u/WhimsicalKoala 7d ago

What other changes did you notice? Because a difference like that on landmasses would cause huge changes in climate, currents, and the entire history of life on this planet

0

u/ByteInferno 7d ago

You can read them here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Retconned/comments/1wl3kxw/my_geographybased_mandela_effects_latest_version/

To me, these are not really changes, they are differences between the former and current version of Earth that I lived on.

1

u/Former-Yak9240 13d ago

So I grew up with "Krystal's" (similar white castle) and today I noticed that the S on the end was dropped. Now it's just Krystal... wtf.. does anyone else remember "Krystal's" like I do?

2

u/axnsworth 11d ago

always been Krystal… i want some junkyard fries now 💔

4

u/kkkktttt00 13d ago

This is a case of people adding S to stores that don't actually have it. It happens often.

Aldi's, Krystal's, Kroger's, Nordstrom's, etc.

1

u/Glaurung86 12d ago

Lots of times without the apostrophe, as well. My dad called it Kmarts forever.

An Australian version of that is the mid range / upscale department store Myer, everyone used to say they're going to "Myer's".

2

u/kkkktttt00 12d ago

I left them out simply because Penney's was always more of a nickname than anything else, but yes, same concept.

2

u/ten_year_rebound 13d ago

A lot of people add “ ‘s ” to places for no reason. Can you it was not Krystal’s because this is one of my major pet peeves lmao

1

u/LadyProto 12d ago

There’s a song that refers to it as “the Krystal”

1

u/United_Reply_2558 8d ago

Krystal burgers arent as good as White Castles.

1

u/Glaurung86 13d ago

It's always been just Krystal. I remember the first time I went to one in western Kentucky in the early 90s. I was a fan of White Castle, but there weren't any in that part of the country at the time, so I was happy to have something similar and not too far away.

1

u/OvationUltraFan 13d ago

I thought Green Book was released before 2018, like 2012.

3

u/Practical-Vanilla-41 12d ago

Nope. It was Mahershala Ali's second Oscar for Best Supporting Actor (After Moonlight (2016)

1

u/456puff 11d ago

I'm really tired and out of it, so my brain autofilled it as "Muhammad Ali's second Oscar" and man, was I confused.

1

u/MiddleDark3 12d ago

I discovered this a few years ago and in surprised me. I always thought there was a maximum overdrive 2. Because I remember back in the day, one of the trucks was helping the humans. But at the end, it understood that it had to be destroyed and it willfulling accepted it. I watched in 1992 but I was young so maybe It was a different movie.

3

u/xXxero_ 10d ago

There was another movie called "trucks" based off the same book

2

u/MiddleDark3 10d ago

Yeah, a friend told me that yesterday but it was 1997.

1

u/456puff 11d ago

When I first saw Sabrina Carpenter's album cover for Man's Best Friend, I immediately thought she was replicating/paying homage to a previous album cover, probably from around the 2010s. The entire thing looked so familiar but I just couldn't place the original artist who did it. I figured I would hear people talking about it soon but nothing. This has been in the back of my head since the first time I saw it. Does this resonate with anyone else?

2

u/bonkava 11d ago

It brings to mind Smell the Glove from Spinal Tap.

1

u/456puff 11d ago

I Googled what you're talking about and there's literally an article talking about that. I'll link it if you want to check it out. But that also doesn't look familiar to me, tbh. Maybe I'm just going crazy, idk.

https://www.slashfilm.com/1968533/sabrina-carpenter-controversy-like-80s-comedy-spinal-tap/

1

u/bonkava 11d ago

I mean, the gag from the movie is that the record label didn't let them use their photo concept, so the album came out with a pitch black cover. So I doubt you'd have seen the image beforehand and in fact the one you can find Googling does not really resemble the Sabrina Carpenter cover, but the concept has been around.

1

u/Glaurung86 11d ago

What's the ME here?

1

u/456puff 11d ago

That I swear another artist did this exact same album cover first, but it doesn't seem to exist. But it instantly looked so familiar. Is that not a ME? Genuinely asking.

1

u/Glaurung86 11d ago

I don't think so because I've seen album covers before that looked familiar but weren't actual tributes or homages to something that came before.

1

u/456puff 11d ago

See, I swear I've seen that exact album cover before, or something very, very close to it. Like, the second I saw it I thought "Huh, who is she copying?" Because I could swear someone else had done that exact same thing. I just couldn't place the face of the "original" person. I was thinking it was someone Miley Cyrus-like, like the same vibe but not her. Possibly someone from after Miley's Bangerz era trying to copy that edgy style. Like I said, I couldn't place it and not really being a fan of Sabrina, I didn't bother to look it up. I figured I would hear people talking about it and comparing them soon, but that never happened. I'm like, convinced the "original" album exists/existed. I just can't find any proof.

3

u/Glaurung86 11d ago

You can try the r/tipofmytongue sub. They are very good at finding out stuff.

u/Deafender 11d ago

Does anyone else remember playing Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on the original fat Nintendo DS? I could have sworn I did, because I remember getting to the upside down levels, but when I look it up, I can't find a port of it to DS. This would have been around the 2006-2008 years.

2

u/Icanfallupstairs 10d ago

There were three GBA games, and three DS games, so there would have been at least 6 2D Castlevania titles playable on the system. All of them obviously share a lot of DNA with Symphony, so it is very possible that you've blended the experiences together.

Symphony did make it onto the PSP, so you may have encountered it there.

1

u/Deafender 9d ago

I had to look a little deeper, I might have been playing Symphony of the Night on my PS2 at the time and then playing a different one where you unlock Alucard on the old fat DS at the same time. I don't have any of these games anymore and kind of want to collect them again, but I was so confused. I just know Alucard is on both.

There was some kind of lawsuit from a celebrity years ago that a Pokémon character was modeled after their likeness

So they scaled back that character for nearly 20 years to avoids more litigation and recently realized the character with slight changes.

Hey everyone its me again back at it with another Mandela Affect moment! Anyone else remember Trinitron monitors used to say "Trinitron" on them in silver letters? I recently was looking at them on google images and actually most only say "Sony" very few include the word "Trinitron" on them! Please upvote and ill upvote yours too just comment here so i know to go upvote it so they approve me and i can post this on the mandela effect subreddit here main feed post.

Paul Williams performed “Southern Nights”. Now, while written by Allan Toussant, is most popularly known as performed by Glen Campbell.
I specifically remember seeing a video of Paul Williams wailing on the piano, singing, and playing the song.

1

u/Glaurung86 11d ago

When would Paul have been performing this?

1

u/Then_Flamingo_3759 11d ago

I watched it in YouTube era media.

I assume mid to late 70s. What stands out to me in my recollection was that Paul Williams was wearing distinctive tinted glasses.

The following was a description that I tried posting on the sub before. I didn’t realize “personal” Mandela Effects were separate?

——I clearly remember a video of Paul Williams belting out Southern Nights. A bunch of cheesy different angles, with the multi colored stage lighting and a bit of a sepia tone to the whole video. Only to look it up to see that it is credited to two different artists,
Both of whom I admire and listen to. Written by Allen Toussaint and popularized by Glen Campbell.——

2

u/Glaurung86 10d ago

The song was first recorded in 1977 by Toussant and then in 1978 by Campbell. I would assume that if Paul performed the song, it would have been after these two. It might just be a matter of there not being a recording of it easily found on the Internet. You might want to try asking about it in one of the music subs. They are really good at helping people figure stuff out.

SPOILER (Lights Out)

I just recently re-watched 'Lights Out' and I vividly remember Rebecca on the floor holding the black light and Bret crashing his car though the window of the house with his full beams on and that's what kills Diana and they all live including Sophie. Anyone else remember this?

1

u/thegoodstranger415 6d ago

I remember Matt Leblanc from Friends dying a few years ago but now he has a new sitcom and Matthew Perry is the one who passed away ?? I just remember so clearly the other way and I wonder if anyone else remembers it too

2

u/Icky8irD 11d ago

Soooo, 20 minutes ago i learned that John goodman is still alive and kickin it... Good for him but the thing is i remember him dying in 2023 from a heart attack, i also remember watching the cloverfield movie with him in it that same day to kind of honor the man and his awesom role in that movie, am i the only one?

5

u/Glaurung86 10d ago

Every few weeks sometimes posts here about Goodman having died years ago.

Have you watched the Righteous Gemstones? That's a great show that he's on and it just finished last year.

3

u/xXxero_ 10d ago

His character died in the final season of Rosanne. But he has been alive and working the whole time. Not a mandella effect.

3

u/Individual_Yard846 7d ago

Thats probably what I am remembering..

2

u/WhimsicalKoala 7d ago

That's why I find this one interesting. Most of the time the celeb that died in the past is someone that has been out of the spotlight for a while. But with John Goodman he's both working and dead.

One of my theories is that he looks so different after his weight loss (and just aging) and since articles often include pictures, people don't really read the names and just see this guy they don't recognize and don't connect him with the actor they do know

3

u/Bearded_Dragon-9612 11d ago

Well, you're not the only one.  Another user said the same thing in the past couple of weeks.

2

u/Icky8irD 10d ago

2

6

u/Glaurung86 12d ago

Scully had a daughter in the series that died. Her name was Emily, but Mulder was not the father. It happened when she was abducted in Season 2.

0

u/Dave_Mnss 12d ago

1

u/Glaurung86 11d ago

I think you're confusing Emily with William because William is a big part of the series continuation - Seasons 10 and 11.

Anyone noticed the way Moon and Mars looks? They look completely unfamiliar to me, but I think I'm on a different version of Earth anyway, so to me, it's not surprising.

3

u/456puff 11d ago

If this is a serious comment, I genuinely want to know more. What should it look like or whatever?

1

u/ByteInferno 11d ago

Of course, it's a serious comment.

"Man in the moon" or "mouse in the moon" were no-brainers, since it was easy to spot. At least for the latter, I remember there were two circular darker-looking regions relatively close together, and at 45° angle from an imagined center point, thus looking like Mickey Mouse ears.

In this world, the moon has too many dark-looking regions.

Mars looks weird as well. In the world where I came from, Mars had many darker regions and visible ridges from space, dubbed "Mars channels" (in our history they did actually look the part), from vast mountain ranges. Also, there were two large polar ice caps on Mars.

In this world, Mars looks comparatively flat-surfaced, and Google Mars actually does a bad job of displaying the planet surface.

"Worse" than Mars and Moon however, is the size of the Milky Way galaxy. It's tiny compared to ours (where I came from), it had many more spiral arms, and they were much longer. And the center of the galaxy was round. The Earth was located in the outermost region of one of those spiral arms.

Of course, after I had seen all that, I also looked at the asterisms, to see if they were any similar. Some are similar, but the shapes are often different, and I don't recognize many of the star names.

Is it possible the mouse in the moon comes from the moon being made of cheese joke? Since the two are often associated? Also, there's pictures of the back of the moon with far more dark spots then the front (what we usually see).

Different cultures have seen different things, and the moon changes depending on what latitude you are on, so for example it's inverted in the Southern Hemisphere.

I know some cultures saw a rabbit on the moon, so it wouldn't surprise me if one saw a mouse.

does anyone remember a mickey and the roadster racers episode where they returned to the old mickey mouse clubhouse
this has been driving me insane
ive had a memory for YEARS of watching an episode of mickey and the roadster racers on disney junior where mickey and the gang went back to the old clubhouse from mickey mouse clubhouse
i remember watching it on tv when i was younger and im pretty sure i even recorded it on our dvr i remember talking to a friend afterward because we were excited that the clubhouse had appeared again
a few days ago i randomly decided i wanted to watch that episode again
i couldnt find it anywhere
ive searched episode lists disneynow disney material youtube old discussions etc as far as i can tell the normal roadster racers episode catalog doesnt contain an episode where they return to the clubhouse
heres where it gets weird
i asked my mom if she remembered that roadster racers episode where mickey goes back to the clubhouse i deliberately didnt tell her the plot she said she remembered it and independently mentioned one specific thing happening in the episode that matches something ive remembered for years
im intentionally NOT saying what that detail was yet
so before i describe everything i remember
does anybody else remember seeing mickey and the gang return to the old clubhouse in roadster racers
if you do PLEASE describe what you remember happening without reading other replies first even tiny details why they went there what happened beforehand who they encountered what the clubhouse looked like etc
im trying to determine whether this was
an actual episode
a disney junior short promo or interstitial
something that aired only rarely
another piece of mickey media im confusing with roadster racers
or an extremely convincing shared false memory
please dont just say yeah i remember that after reading someone elses description im specifically looking for independent details that can be compared with what i remember
if someone describes the same specific details ive deliberately left out im going to lose my fucking mind

i just found this sub, this is something i always wanted to share:

for years, i was convinced that the video game "Cyberpunk 2077" was a sequel to a game just called "Cyberpunk". I even remember youtubers talking about why everyone was excited for 2077 because the first one was such a beloved game. So when i finished playing 2077 and having liked it, i wanted to go back and play the original, only to discover, there never was an original!

Cyberpunk was a pen and paper game, not a video game

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyberpunk_(role-playing_game)

For Cyberpunk 2077 the main "previous games" were The Witcher series, so nothing in the same continuity. It was Witcher fans who were hyped, because CD Projekt Red were making this new game.

As for why CD Projekt Red picked up this relatively obscure RPG to base a video game on, that's probably because the creator of Cyberpunk had made a pen and paper RPG version of The Witcher a few years earlier (2018), so they were already working with the guy while he was working on a new edition of his (paper) Cyberpunk game.

Yeah ive since learned about the tabletop game, mainly because i spent hours looking for a previous video game. But you might be right, perhaps the game the YouTubers i remember talked about was Witcher. Back then i knew nothing about that series

It's not reallt a sequel. It takes place in a later time peiod of an already established TTRPG setting. The most popular version being Cyberpunk 2020.

There are a decent number of Cyberpunk style games that you may have mixed in with that, like the Deus Ex series.

Never heard of Cyberpunk. I own Cyberpunk 2077.

I was 100% sure that Arnold schwarzenegger played robocop

2

u/Practical-Vanilla-41 7d ago

He couldn't have. The part required an actor slender enough to fit the suit. Enter Peter Weller...

1

u/Practical-Vanilla-41 7d ago

Also, Paul Verhoeven was the director of Total Recall (1990) because Arnold liked RoboCop (1987).

Jonathan Taylor Thomas is not only not unalived, he was arrested for DUI a couple of weeks ago

I’ve still never understood why some people think “he” was in Shazaam. He was a massive star around the time “The Lion King” came out, and Disney would never let one of their stars act in a competing studio, making a competing film against Kazaam. If it happened after Kazaam, well then he would’ve just been to old for the part.

1

u/Draper-Wood-758 12d ago

Exactly. I had the same realization and thought, too. The Lion King was released in 1994, the same year as people claim was when Shazaam was released in April 1st and July 17th (same released date as Kazaam in 1996).

Plus Sinbad starred in Houseguest in 1995, and First Kid in 1996, and he would've not starred at all in those two movies from a timeline where Shazaam existed to be allegedly have starred in, whereas other people recall Shazaam and First Kid, which isn't logically right to me, either.

Shazaam on April 1st, 1994, and Aliens for Breakfast on April 2nd, 1994, also doesn't make sense, eithe, depending if Sinbad would've had the time to star in two movies the following recurrent.

1

u/MrPlaney 12d ago

Exactly. I’ve also heard claims that Shazaam came out after Kazaam too, where JTT would’ve been 16 in 1996, a little to old to be the kid character in a Genie movie.

2

u/WhimsicalKoala 7d ago

But all the details are identical 🙄

1

u/folkbum 12d ago

He’s still trying to live down being in that huge flop of a movie Shazam, with Sinbad.

Does anyone else remember Germany and Poland being the opposite way round IE: Germany to the east of Poland?

7

u/silentsurge 12d ago

Poland to the West of Germany would have made WW2 and the post war era extremely odd once the Iron Curtain fell. Not to mention the issues with languages and nationalities in those various areas.

It would be exceptionally difficult to resolve WW1 era history and battlefields with that as well.

2

u/Practical-Vanilla-41 12d ago

Are you thinking of East Prussia?

-2

u/ByteInferno 13d ago

In that world of yours that you remember, what languages were spoken in Germany and Poland? Did Poland speak German and Germany speak Polish? B/c the proximity of your version of Germany to Ukraine and Russia would mean they would speak a Slavic language. And likewise, your version of Poland would be where Germany now is and their language would sound more like German.

Might just be me, but I remember Dustin's hat from the earlier seasons of Stranger Things having the Atari logo on it.

Something Like This!

1

u/Glaurung86 11d ago

That color scheme hat that Dustin wore had no logo on it.
