Basically any road work that is not urgent or ortherwise an emergency has been pushed back a year due to the crazy flooding/destruction of so much infrastructure in the western part of the province. There just literally is not enough staff/equipment to fix everything.

Or you get crews like the one that just resurfaced my road and had to redo the sewers and curbs so many times from fuck ups.

Now instead of the water running to the sewer, just goes into my yard.

Considering this is probably 25 years overdue, what's one more year

I'm mostly concerned about leaving those big edges/drop offs going into winter.

They have started to slope them with gravel

Thanks. Kind of looked that way, but I wasn't certain what the plan was.

I wonder if they are going to backfill/grade all 8 passing lanes for the winter. There's a 1-3' drop off where they haven't put pavement down yet. Not sure why they just didn't complete 4 sections and then do the other 4 next year. I assume it was probably cheaper to pave them all at the same time.

I think there are a lot of projects that MIT planned for Fall 2026 that are being pushed back to 2027.

I had heard that it was because of all the emergency repairs that had to be done in the Parkland after the flooding, that left them short on contractors, or budget or just staff time to prepare the tender packages back in the summer. But I don’t have any first hand knowledge.

In the meantime, they can fix the massive dip on hwy 9, near Wpg Beach.

Been through there every day since they started. They need to be 24/7. More than Half the time they’re sitting around doing nothing. They need to be fined for not completing projects on time.
