Missed Tickets?
How on earth have so many people left it so late to try and get tickets? They've been on sale since May and now threads are flooded with people hawking sob stories about needing tickets but having left it to THE WEEK BEFORE CON they're now shocked they can't get them. That or apparantly having looked forward to various photo ops, meet and greets, panels etc since they were announced they somehow missed the posts and emails about needing a reservation and are DESPERATE to buy one now. People would do well to remember mcm tickets are not resellable, not transferable. MCM advertises the ticket availability regularly in the run up to con, it posts plenty of warning about reservations, including a date when they go live. I'm not talking about people who tried to get reservations on the day, but the ones offering to sell their soul for a panel or con ticket a week before that they didn't care enough about to research about beforehand. It's insanity this year, i've never seen it like it!!

Can't speak for anyone else, but I have two kids with special and medical needs and I'm in battles with the local authority, and I work so my days are very full. Add ADHD and there's your recipe for a parent who simply didn't allow the time or forgot when they did have the time. Everyone has their own circumstances, and you never know what is happening in other people's lives.

Yep i get that. I work fulltime, have 5 kids and an elderly father with cancer that I care for. Still managed to set reminders. I've been going for years and I've never seen so many people bleating about missing a 4 month ticket window.

More goes into it then you think, several years they dont even sell out.

Yep. But if you really wanted to go you wouldn't take the chance. It's only gonna potentially cost more or end up with you getting ripped off or refused entry as tickets aren't transferable.

I got mine in July/August time for October. I would get them as soon as they go live but I usually need to save a bit of money after MCM May.

MCM London is currently the only Comic Con I go to (I'm still building my confidence in travelling and London happens to be fairly easy for me to get to)

For the past few MCMs, tickets haven't fully sold out (i.e. maybe Saturday general sold out, but there were still tickets left for Saturday priority), so I guess people were relying on that and hoping they could buy at the last minute. There are reasons to wait before buying - if someone isn't completely sure they'll be able to attend, it's a lot of money to spend on a ticket you might not end up using. But obviously it's a big risk to wait this close to the con and I agree with what you've said - MCM were constantly posting about ticket availability, so they had plenty of warning.

I think people dont realise tickets aren't transferable/resellable at all. If they're ID checked and didn't purchase the ticket officially they'll be removed.

I understand your frustration seeing lots of posts asking for a ticket, especially when you're trying to browse information for the event but instead flooded with those.
I do hope that more understanding can be given to people though. There could be many legitimate reasons, such as inability to confirm whether they will be free at the event dates, due to reasons like work or family or other plans or whatever. Together with the fact that the tickets are not refundable, it's fair that people would hesitate purchasing early.
On the other hand there's obviously lots of people who really just did bad planning. Though I still don't think it's fair to blame people for incompetence - everyone grows from a kid to an adult and then to an elderly, and everyone made mistakes, from which they learn to become better in the future.
Anyways, I do hope that you'll have a good experience at MCM, regardless of your current frustration.

Do you pay their tickets or can look in their pockets?

Everyone knows how much the tickets are and when they go onsale. Its bad planning, pure and simple

It's really frustrating to see so many posts about it this year, but I hope it allows people to learn their lesson for next time
