Idek why I'm surprised at how negative the reactions are to Caleb's coming out post (from Beartooth). It's not one or two clowns in the comments, it's the majority of comments on most Instagram posts.
It makes obvious what I already knew as a gay man who grew up on this music: we are unwelcome. I'll take my boyfriend with me to shows and I feel like I have to pretend that we are fuckin homies bc if I do anything to indicate that we're dating (lean on him, flirt, whatever) I get dirty looks from people in the crowd. Dudes will be screaming their heavy songs ala "fuck religion" or "we're all brainwashed" but have no issue calling me a f*ggot in the next breath.
It's perhaps even more frustrating that in gay spaces, I almost never run into others into this genre. Gays are into pop/EDM/indie because those songs and fanbases don't shit on them constantly. I'm sure some women have a similar experience too....metal dudes worship masculinity more than gays do I stg.
Also, fuck everyone saying "how could he lie to his wife for so long he's terrible". Bitch. You try coming to terms with being gay. It's not a cake walk.

Spotify is now advertising for ICE.
That means:
Less chuds to crowdkill at shows(they'll be out bootlicking for a 50k bonus).
Less friends to mosh with because they are being displaced and detained illegally.
I went with Tidal, moved all my playlists over and pretty much exact same library as Spotify for metal, 1$ less a month.
End of my psa thank you

I loved watching them cry like babies last night 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Let’s normalize being intolerant of the intolerant again, please?
Nazi punks fuck off.
Edit1: everyone knows there’s a Conservative and Nazi problem in Punk as a whole. It doesn’t mean you fucking belong.
Edit2: link to last night’s STYG post
Edit3: To the idiots calling me “Red Fash” or “Left Nazi” pick up a book. Fascism is exclusively a far right wing ideology.

On March 6th we released our 7th album, "silence outlives the earth", produced, mixed, and mastered by Dan Braunstein and released through UNFD. We are currently on tour with Currents, Caskets, and Aviana. Happy to be back doing an AMA, ask us anything you'd like.

My little brother died this morning whilst me and my brother were with him, he was only 25
I took him to his first gig in June, we saw currents and aviana at the key club in Leeds, they're my two favorite bands. He was initially really nervous about it and we stood off to the side, but by the time currents came on he wanted to get in amongst it all, and he had such a good time I got us matching Aviana t shirts and we were so hyped to start gigging together
We were going to go see Currents in November and Imminence in December, and I was so hyped to share the new currents EP with him on our playlist tomorrow and to talk about it together, I don't have that many people, and zero that enjoy mine and my brothers music
If you're able please keep Aiden in mind or pour one out for him whilst you're listening to the new EP tomorrow
Edit:
I made this post last night when the silence was deafening because I couldn't cope, I expected maybe a few people to see it. I am utterly blown away by the unreal amount of support and the number of people that have shared their support and to those that have shared their stories of loss of sibling friends and parents, favorite songs, those have lit candles, smoked up or had a drink for him or prayed is repeatedly bringing me to tears, the world deserved so much more of my brother and it is consoling to me so many people know his name, he was truly the best of us. The EP rips and I cried the whole time through, you're all incredible thank you so much, I am going to slowly work through every comment and I apologise if it takes time, but I can't overstate how much it means to me, I love you all, and you'll see me and Aiden with me in the pit again soon 💛

Tonight in Baltimore, Thrown played one verse of Backfire, walked off stage when the backing tracks failed, stayed gone for 10 minutes, then came back and played a partial setlist without acknowledging anything.
Dayseeker has publicly said they can't play anything before Sleeptalk because they lost the backing tracks for the songs.
No one cares about using backing tracks for walkout music or secondary instruments like strings or pianos, but if you literally can't play your music without a laptop helping you, don't have the audacity to charge fans ever-increasing sums for the "live" music experience when they could just crank your studio work on a good system.
Name and shame metalcore's worst offenders. Name and praise the real ones like Killswitch Engage who have publicly denounced backing tracks. Let's demand that live music actually be live music.at least for the core instruments and vocals being presented on the stage.

His recent Instagram post on his page talks about how much his mental health has suffered over the last few months (likely due to people attacking him online over live performance vocals)
He revealed the self doubt that had begun to set in, the performance anxiety he's developed.
A very important reminder that our favorite artists are humans too and don't deserve the vitriol and hate they receive.
Love Sam/Architects, Devastated to read how much the dickheads hurt him.
Edit: People who are coming here to pile on the Sam hate, read the room, there's enough hate in the world already. Be Kinder. Be Better.

First let me say this, they don’t owe me anything. In all honestly they are more popular now than ever. Animals is their number one streamed song. People must like the direction they’ve gone in with the streams they are hitting on their new material.
Ive been a fan since LF//LT. They were my favorite band. They were the first band I traveled go see on their NA Holy Hell tour. I thought, this band is unstoppable. A 4 album run that was just incredible in my eyes. Then Animals came out and the first thing I thought was “it’s over“. FTTWTE had a few songs I liked but mostly it was just an Industrial pop album. No more raw screams. Way more singing. Just mid. After they dropped symptoms. That album is terrible. Then seeing red came out. A song talking shit about their fans ended up being the best song they released in years. The Sky the earth and all between is a decent record. had some hits and some misses. I will say Elegy is one of my favorite architects songs. It’s great.
I thought there was a glimmer of hope but now we get machine…. Even If you like the new direction, it’s hard not to admit that it’s a boring song with no dynamics and an elevator music type tone.
It’s hard to accept when your favorite band does a complete 180 and just becomes a band you no longer like at all. I drove from Florida to Myrtle beach to see them a few years back. I did this to see 4 songs - Nihilist, Gravedigger, Royal Beggers and these colors don’t run. Well they cut out Nihilist and Gravedigger from that tours set. Nihilist is top 5 songs from them for me so to say I was disappointed was an understatement. To add insult to injury they were selling AOGHAU merch on that tour…. I’m sorry but that’s just a fuck you to your older fans. You don’t have to make music for me anymore but at the same time you don’t have to abandon all of your old material. That’s just my two cents.
TLDR: Band doesn’t respect the old fans. My disappointment is immersible and my day is ruined

Perhaps I'm not the target audience anymore but I really don't wanna be a near 30 something year old man wearing a t shirt with 'I'm a fucking animal' on the back etc. Alot of merch is very cringe and I wouldn't wanna be seen dead in it IRL. Just give me a minimal band logo tee without loud graphics and colours on it etc :( I really wanna support some of you bands but your merch makes me want to die inside lol

Not just your nostalgic favorite, but an album you think is actually perfect front to back.
Production, songwriting, vocals, riffs, breakdowns, pacing, everything.
What’s the one metalcore record you’d defend as a true 10/10?

So basically
First date. Tall pretty girl with blonde hair. I pick her up and we are on our way to the restaurant, and then I ask her what kind of music she likes. She says Taylor Swift and that kinda stuff. (I'm sorry my fellow metalheads, I know) so I let her control the aux for a lil bit. Then she wanted me to play the kind of stuff I'm into. Being into metalcore and all, I was super reluctant. So all I said was, you're probably not gonna like it. And she said "of course I will." What cap. I choose Meltdown by Motionless in White, and as soon as I click play, I turn to look at her, kind of side-eyeing her, and she's just smiling at me. Then... BLEGHH and she makes a disgusted face and looks panicked, so I hit pause. Long story short, she went on to be very quiet for most of the night while we were out eating then I walked her up to her door like a gentleman and she looks at me and says "your music sucks" and turns and goes inside and I'm just holding my arms out ready for a hug like 😃👐
Edit: Am I overreacted by typing all of this or did she overreact? At any rate I doubt we'll be seeing each other any time soon. If you're here then thank you for reading all the way down lol

Probably this post will be deleted soon. So, I came with this question in mind because I remembered 2 tracks that actually made it to this opinion of mine: the recently released 156/Silence's From A Distance featuring Alex from MTS and Open Water from blessthefall featuring Lights. What about you people?
