Iron supplements that won't feed gut dysbiosis?
Hello, I have methane SIBO and gut dusbiosis, can you recommend my an Iron supplement that will bypass that please?

There's no oral supplement that can totally bypass it, but a good liposomal iron will encapsulate most of the iron into lipid bubbles - these mean they don't come into contact with your gut / microbiome and they also absorb much more effectively than regular iron tablets (meaning you can take a lower dose).
It's not perfect because they can't guarantee every bit of iron is encased, but it's better than traditional iron tablets by a long way.
The other options for totally bypassing the gut are infusions (IV) or sprays you absorb inside your cheek, but the latter can only provide a maintenance dose - it's not enough to fix a deficiency.

The liposomal doesn't feed the iron?

I'm assuming you meant to ask if the liposomal iron feeds gut dysbiosis - the answer is theoretically, not much, not if a high proportion of it is fully encapsulated.
As I said though, not all of it will be. The only way to guarantee iron does not reach the colon is by using non-oral methods of administration.

I was also advised by my doctor to not take iron durin a viral illness, but that liposomal was the least risky of them all (all infections feed on iron, including viral).

Lactoferrin maybe? I'm pretty sure it's exactly what you need

Wouldn't you still have higher levels of hepcidin no matter what type of iron you take?

Liposomal Bisglycinate is lower risk

Do you have anymore information on this? I see products with Liposomal Magnesium Glycinate also.

I haven't found any clinical trials etc, but i have only picked this up from AI which discusses the theoretical reasons it maybe better for dysbiosis However there is this The Takeaway: Liposomal technology is genuinely "gut-friendly", but the science is based on pyrophosphate, not bisglycinate. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9458173/

Natural stuff I took rather than chemical muck the Dr was going to give me

Made a huge difference for me ...

Just be aware that large amounts of unabsorbed heme iron, including from food sources (and blood), can also feed pathogens and affect the microbiome.

Half can of clams every night paired with golden kiwi or yellow pepper for vit C. Blood sausage also.

I struggle with iron absorption. Healing gut will help with absorption from food sources. What helps
Is cutting out dairy sugar wheat and oats. And adding vitamin C supplementation. Iron from food sources cannot absorb without it. Supplementation for iron always caused me problems and was a bandaid fix that didn’t last. I used to crave ice clay dirt etc etc so bad I couldn’t leave the house without a glass of ice to chomp on. Do with this info what you will! Just sharing my experience.

Take lactoferrin. It also feeds certain good bacteria. May cause die off effects.
