Banned user stuck banned, can't be re-banned/unbanned

TheNZThrower was banned years ago, but the circumstances weren't that serious and there was an appeal, we've unbanned according to the modlog, and the image posted in this post:

shows an Error:500 when trying to reban on classic to just see if turning it off and on works. Regular reddit just gives a generic "and error has occurred" when trying to reban. We've gone back and forth for a while, he's not able to access the reddit still, and these errors tell me it's likely stuck in limbo.

I experienced this same bug not too long ago. Nothing we did was able to (un)ban the affected user, on sh.reddit we got a 500 error.

Admins should be able to successfully unban, best wait till one sees this thread or send this subreddit a modmail.
