No red flags, then hit u with a block

Hi i just want ur pov about those kind of people and what made them do that.

So, yesterday i find some1 in a dating app he looked cool so i sent him a message, and from the beginning of the conversation he talked allll sweet and gentle and kindly and i couldn't see any red flags, we matched in everything and we kept talking the whole day and found out that our interests are similar which is good and we planned to have plenty of dates, everything is good and i started liking him and wondering how some1 in one day can be that sweet with me and i was happy cuz we found each other, and we were talking normally he said sorry for not replying fast it's becuz he was preparing food, i said it's okey i should give him his time and i went watching a movie then when i came back i found out that after one hour or more he didn't reply to my messages and it was odd cuz he looked that kind of a persons who would inform u before dissappearing, then i sent another message and i found out that he blocked me.

Idk until i keep thinking about this situation, like what happened, did i do something wrong? Sino how people can be that cruel and what can make them do that?

I start having trust issues right now with this bunch of situations.

The life I'll never have, and the love I'll never share

I am pansexual. I have known since I was fifteen, though I could never name the moment I realized it. It was simply there, older than my words for it. How could I not love women? They are the most beautiful beings on this earth.

My family is religious, and homophobic in the way only devout love can be, my mother most of all. I wear the hijab. I am the pride of a house I love with my whole heart. So I carry a quiet grief for the life I will never live, and the love I will never share. I dream of it. I crave it under my skin: the tenderness, the freedom, the grace of being fully seen.

It isn't only women. I find men beautiful too. I am drawn to people of every kind, people I will never be allowed to touch. I am quite feminine myself, and I am moved by femininity wherever it lives, in girls and in boys who wear it openly. Once, on a dating app, there was a boy, lean and gorgeous, as if out of my dreams, and I knew what I wanted until it stood in front of me. Then I panicked and vanished. I hope he has forgiven me.

Now there is a man in my life, and he is only a boyfriend until he is ready to ask my father for my hand. I did not accept him out of love, not yet. I accepted him because he met my list: he is tall and kind, a nerd like me, devout without being extreme, and most of all, he is not fast to anger, I have never once seen him angry. He listens. He is a good man. My parents know of him. But most importantly, He knows.

My closest friends have always known, and when he joined our circle I did not stop the jokes about it, because that circle was the only place my queer heart could breathe. Since we began a different relationship, I have stopped speaking of it, but he still does joke about it often. I cannot tell whether he believes it is real, and I cannot bring myself to ask. He is religious. Shouldn't it matter to him?

And there is something I will never ask of him. I am drawn to those who yield, to softness that surrenders, submits, and that is not a thing one expects of a religious straight typical man. So I will keep it folded away, and I will never know the intimacy I crave most. When I picture the nights that wait for me after the wedding, I see myself stepping into a role I'm not sure I'll ever enjoy, and wondering what might have been.

Because I know one secret hour would become many. Because I am forbidding myself. Because what if nothing after it feels real. So I'll stick to wondering, reminiscing, pondering.

I love my family. I love how my father holds me and tells me he is proud, how my mother brags about me, how my uncles sing my praises, how my cousins look up to me. I have felt what it is to disappoint them, to lie and hide, and it was my own private hell. So for all that love, flawed and heavy as it is, I lay my true self down.

I am only another queer soul, building a life inside a closet they locked themselves in.

Is it a red flag that your boyfriend has over 500 gay followers on IG?

I wanna think that "ooh idc about his past" but being in a long distance relationship and seeing the amount of gays he’s following on social media is making me very hesitating to whether stay with him in the relationship or to break up. :/

He’s Moroccan and works in Emarate(he said he’ll move permanently here in like 6 months from now and tbh this feels pretty long)

All of my friends when they checked his following told me to stay away but he’s really kind and good looking and the vibe was there.

Ps: he has already come out to his sister and told her about me and how he plans ro bring me to his family’s house next year’s summer. So idk it’d really confusing with the red flags :(

Ps:He's very religious and believes that intimate relationships are sinful but still wants us to be in a relationship like WTF (we have never met yet btw walakin galiya fach ayrj3 we could live together lol)

What’s Rabat like for gay guys?

• Upvotes

Hey everyone! So I'm an American college student who will be spending about three months in Rabat this coming summer for an internship. I'm gay, and I've been really curious about what life is actually like for gay men in Morocco, especially in Rabat.
I know homosexuality is criminalized in Morocco, and I obviously want to be respectful of the culture and careful while I'm there. But I'm also curious about what the dating and social scene is like.
For those of you who live in Rabat or have spent time there, how cautious do I actually need to be?
Is using apps like Grindr something people generally do, or is it better to avoid them altogether? Is it relatively safe to meet up with other guys if you're discreet, or are there risks I should be particularly aware of?
I'm also curious whether there's much of a gay community in Rabat and how people typically meet each other. I'm not necessarily looking for anything serious. I just don't want to spend three months feeling like I have to completely hide that part of myself if I don't have to. At the same time, I definitely don't want to put myself or anyone else in an uncomfortable or dangerous situation.
Any insight y’all can provide would be so appreciated!
