Chaos.

I like it.

This subreddit should have some sort of age verification, lots of kids shitposting useless replies.

Anyway, I don't know if there is an exact word to define this mix of datamoshing and kinetic typography with real footage popular in Japan (I guess it's influenced by their love for information overload in UIs, web layouts and generally how comments are shown on Nikoniko - their YouTube), but it reminds me of this guy's work: https://www.youtube.com/@kkmfd/videos

I think its more that all these posts about what kind of style is this are just used to prompt AIs, so people here are trying to poison the prompts a bit so AI can’t make slop of our work as easy.

It’s simple but honest work

Weird, poppy and glitchy

I think this is a nice description of this short media piece.

Glitch art can be combined with so many things.

It looks really cool idk why comments are being negative lol. Also fuck your prompts.

needed something to complain about

Quite simply, it's just Maximalism. An aesthetic using excess and abundance.

This art style is called Mixed Media

try asking the OC???

Don't know if you randomly found the video somewhere or if you actually know who did it, just in case, here is OC account : https://www.instagram.com/teemeeki_/

He seem to also be working on a plugin to make the kind of trail/music notes following a curve

I can't imagine a name for that style, but it's a look of combined elements like tracking, sky keying to put plain colors animated with mask, particles, shapes ...

If you're trying to recreate something like this I think I would recommend focusing on one element after the other. It's quite "simple" stuff, but everything combined together bring that dynamic (chaotic) edit together

didn't even need to have any text to know it was japanese. funny how sometimes cultural influence can be identified miles away.

With zero disrespect, i'd describe this as 'collage vomit'. It just a LOT of stuff thrown on in a pleasing, frenetic way.

I feel that people try super hard to name everything, a movement, an art style and everything else.
But usually we only notice these things after they become something.

For example:

The minimalism that took over the 2010s were not a direct response to anything specific, it was a sum of a lot of styles and trends. The minimalist architecture was called "International Style" before.

Just copy it and try to get your twist. What do YOU like about it? And HOW would YOU use it?

Don't these just fall under the term "motion graphics"?

-1

u/SmallPrinter Apr 23 '26

A lot of things fall under motion graphics like a lot of things fall under drawing, there are still "styles"

-5

u/Stinky_Fartface Apr 23 '26

Motion graphics.

u/SmallPrinter Apr 23 '26

Will comment here as well. A lot of things fall under motion graphics like a lot of things fall under drawing, there are still "styles"

u/Stinky_Fartface Apr 23 '26

Ok fair enough. I think don’t think this is a predefined “style.” However it does appear to use a lot of techniques. Lots of roto and particle generators, among dozens of other techniques.

This IS motion graphics in my opinion. Can't get more old school then this.

Reminds me of "hyper-reality" similar to http://hyper-reality.co/

Other than that, I don't think it has a name per se, unlike some of the other comments trying to give it one. I am pretty sure the look is just the artists/projects style

I'm inventing the name nadare-moji, because it gushes emojis.

annoying, garish and obnoxious

u/gcwcflyier Apr 23 '26

doing a quick check on ur history and see you make stuff with AI. Icing on the cake!

3

u/totallykoolkiwi Apr 23 '26

Honestly half of the time I see posts like this I assume people just want the right descriptions for their prompts (or it's bots aiming to train whatever AI in the first place)

u/SmallPrinter Apr 23 '26

Doodly? The image is like a sketch of scribbles and doodles.

Looks like an intro, a non serious/funny Japanese game show or series would have.
