Social benefits aren't easily changeable if they are codified... Which could have been done but Dems choose not to. Instead they left them vulnerable so they could pivot if needed or use the threat of losing those rights to the other side as a way to gain support/power. Democrats consistently and seemingly deliberately don't do enough to protect the progress they sometimes make.

If Democrat leaders had spines then Republicans wouldn't be able to get away with blatantly disregarding laws, regulations and our constitution. Dems concede so much its embarrassing... I blame them for all of this because over the years their message has gotten so tone def. There are too few of them who ACTUALLY fight for and care about the people.

Its like watching someone get abused and not doing anything about it and then saying, "Well I wasn't the one doing the abusing so I'm not at fault." Sure, I guess but it doesn't make you a good person and I still blame you for allowing it to continue. Same with Democrats...

We could have possibly avoided this Trump nonsense if they had not disillusioned voters (especially young ones) during the primary when Bearnie won the vote and the Democratic leaders vetoed in favor of Hillary.

The magical legislation you are looking for is called election reform because our process is a joke. We should have at least implemented ranked voting ages ago but that would threaten the eternal struggle for power we currently have and neither side wants that, lest they actually have to be held accountable or listen to their constituents to continue being relevant. However, I fear it may be too late for us depending on how the near future plays out...

Lmao of course you are a “democrats sabotaged Bernie person”. He lost, you sound just as bad as MAGA 2020 election deniers.

And again, Hillary losing led to THREE conservative supreme court justices being appointed. How can you secure any of our rights with a Supreme Court that can just nullify everything? With a president that can just blatantly disregard all laws. Which is legal now too by the way by that same Supreme Court that gave him absolute criminal immunity while he’s president

I’ve seen the stats of how many Bernie supporters voted for Trump. Maybe you didn’t but it’s people like you for why this country is in this mess

Thank you for challenging me and making me look it all up. Back then I was just starting to pay attention to politics more but I was clearly mislead to a degree. He was somewhat sabotaged (the email scandal proves that) but it definitely did not go down as I remembered.

I did vote for Hillary because I'm not a complete idiot, I was just young and fairly new to it all. As for what is happening now after a decade of absolute BS, I do my best to look into things but it has definitely gotten harder with all this AI, bot and misinformation nonsense.

I am constantly infuriated by the absolute insanity that is happening. Why is no one doing anything about each of these breaches? How did we let it happen? Why is it even allowed for the president choose biased judges? As in, it shouldn't even be their job to appoint them, that seems like it is just asking for abuse of the system at some point. Mitch McConnel should be in prison for holding up Obama's right to appoint a Judge when there was a vacancy during his term.

How do we not have emergency protocols as citizens to overthrow a president who is blatantly breaking multiple laws and disregarding our Constitution? I'm talking above and beyond impeachment because clearly that method is a joke. All of these corrupt individuals should never see the light of day for the amount of pain, suffering and overall damage they have caused.

EDIT: It was bad enough when Trump was president the first time but I can't quite believe it happened in a kosher way the second time... especially when they all but outright admitted it. Why was that not the very first thing to end it all?

Hey totally sympathize with that and I apologize for being a bit rude. Lord knows I've been wrong many times on the internet lol. I just get more and more frustrated the way the entire media acts as if democrats are the only ones that are treated with any agency. They literally get blamed for everything from both sides.

Its why Republicans win. They might have their own infighting, but when it comes to election day they know who to vote for. Re: Bernie voters, its estimated that some 12% of people that voted for Bernie voted for Trump. That election was razor thin, it absolutely was a deciding factor along with all the narratives going on during the time about how both of them were equally bad. I will never forgive South Park for their Turd sandwich episode even if they realized they were so so wrong now.

As for Trump running and winning a second time, I dont know what to say. Its an indictment of the character of our country honestly. The one thing I will blame the dems/Biden for is choosing Merrick Garland as his AG. He dragged his feet for 4 years on prosecuting Trump. Jan 6th was so heinous in ways I dont think most americans even realize, the worst stuff happened well before that actual day with the scheme Trump and his lawyers cooked up that it is insane that no one got prosecuted for it.

That said, it doesn't excuse the American public from voting him in a second time. And yes I consider not showing up to vote to Kamala/voting third party just as bad as voting for Trump who so obviously needed to be defeated. At some point we have to take some responsibility over who we vote for and who we dont show up for.
