Charlottetown Mayoral Candidate - Ticketed for passing school bus...
Word on the street is that Mitch Tweel has been ticketed for passing a school bus with its red lights flashing. The incident occurred last week... but haven't heard it officially reported yet.
Not a positive campaign move, to say the least!

It's funny, when a woman is driven, focused, accomplished, educated, and intelligent, she is labeled as arrogant. When a man is driven, focused, accomplished, educated, and intelligent, he is labeled as a success. The phrase people often use" that's what I heard" says alot about their character.

Ah, a whole new way he's a POS. Fuck that guy. I don't want Brown to win again but there are worse options too, like Tweel.

And there are better options like Amir. If she does not get elected, we really do deserve or Tweel or Brown until forever.
Democracy is when people get representatives they deserve.

And there are better options like Amir.
Absolutely.

I haven't met her, but what makes her a good candidate? I've only heard that she's quite arrogant.

I met her a few times. She is convinced that she can do better than other candidates. She has skills and education to back that up, so I do not see it as arrogance but as earned confidence. She also seems to really want to try and make some things better, and is not after the job just for the sake of job, unlike some other candidates.

Why don't you do some DD, she has a vision for Charlottetown, she is young, intelligent. That's alone is more than other mayoral candidate.

I've only heard that she's quite arrogant.
Where'd you hear that? I'll be honest, I don't know that much. But Brown is bad and the other candidates either don't seem that serious or are worse than Brown is.

probably the same place they heard Tweel passed a buss with its lights on!

This person is suss as all fuck. Making super dubious claims about mayoral candidates without any evidence whatsoever, and it’s their first post and the only post they’ve made any comments on.
Phillip, get off the fuck off reddit and do your fucking job for once, with what little time you hopefully have left to be mayor.
If you’re not Brown, your nose sure as fuck is. Couldn’t be any more obvious what this is.

I have heard this specifically around the UPEI circles. I don't know what she's been like door-to-door.

u/RullerFace 23h ago
Funny how you are making all of these dubious claims about mayoral candidates with absolutely no evidence, but nothing about Brown, of course.
It’s also funny how this is the only post you’ve made on a 3 year old account and your only comments are in here.
You’re a fucking looooooooooser bud 🤡🤡🤡

u/Unhappy-Carrot-8236 23h ago
Long time listener, first time caller.
I haven't made any "dubious" claims... I've actually said what I do and don't know? I don't have a horse in the race, other than I just don't want shitty people to win council seats - and there are lots of them.
I've also only commented on two candidates of seven.
You seem cool, though.

So out of allllllll the things you decided to “call about” after 3 years is to post an unsubstantiated rumour without any evidence whatsoever? Out of all the stuff that’s transpired in that time, this is what compelled you?
And if you think that making said claims, without any evidence at all, doesn’t make them dubious, I don’t know what the fuck you’re smoking.
You don’t seem cool. Get fuuuuuucked 🤡

Only thing I can say about her is that I had the chance to speak with her and she was already sounding like a normal politician. Lots of “I’m just like you, I understand” and not enough “this will be fixed because I will do XYZ.”
I’m voting for you to get things done not delay and avoid because we already have that.
It’s like a doctor telling me they can relate to my illness… I’m looking for you to fix it, not tell me you also experienced the same pain!
We’re doomed.

That was not my experience but I am guessing that she may be adjusting her game as she meets more people.
Based on my personal interactions with folks during this campaign, people want to be heard more than to hear what you have to say. That came as a surprise to me, as I am the same as you are - I want someone to point the issue and offer the solution for that issue, and I want to evaluate them based on the issue they chose and their solution for it.
I would say that 9 out of 10 interactions at the doorstep that go beyond pleasantries, end up being a person not much interested into conversation beyond a single one of their immediate concerns. Even when I am proposing a solution for that concern, there is no much interest to hear about it.
If you are not making a constant attempt to remain authentic and honest, it is so easy to get discouraged and fall into classical politicians' 'I hear you' mode.

Amir has a campaign promise to do less than what the province requires…
One of her issues is to require a “comprehensive update to the City Plan every ten years, and a review every five years,” but the province requires municipalities to update their plans every five years.
I think this is what happens when you use AI to slop together a quick campaign.

First person to put their hat in the race and you think she slopped together an AI campaign? Also, someone with an extensive background in science and grant writing before AI existed. Pretty funny.

Care to explain? Or were you just gonna leave a comment like that hanging with no context?

Hey 1970's City Taxi Hair Grease Greasy Doug, we all know it's you hiding in the bushes. Are you worried a woman will be the next Mayor of Charlottetown.

u/ComprehensiveLab3103 1d ago
lol I’d still choose Amir over the others. I’m just not a big fan of how she presents herself sometimes
2
u/Puzzleheaded-Gur4683 1d ago
Doug are you afraid of a strong intelligent woman? I bet you like the weaker insecure girls because that would suit your identity of having power over a female.

u/ComprehensiveLab3103 1d ago
I’m pretty sure i just said I’d prefer Amir. Imagine thinking I’m DC. You should be able to tell just by my spelling and grammar. god love yeh

It's ok Doug, you can come out, there is lots of help for people like you.

Interesting…I can’t recall police ever releasing the names of people fined for passing a bus.
If this is true, then I’m willing to bet another candidate for mayor received a tip from a police officer. That’s super sketchy. My guess would be Brown…he probably looked at the numbers and realized that Mitch is going to cost him the election (Cecil or Mitch will win, it’ll be very close).

u/Unhappy-Carrot-8236 1d ago
FWIW - There is video from the incident and the bus driver(s) shared the news, not police.

Great. If he had/will won I would have reminded him that he would bring the traffic police section back so the wild west of speeding and 150db mufflers would end

That better not fucking happen. They're both worse than Brown. Bloody fucking hell.

I tend to agree re Tweel, although I don't know much of Cecil aside from his affiliations.
Tweel may answer his phone, but he has never appeared prepared for a Committee/Council meeting in my memory. I'm not sure he's ever even read a meeting package. Can't forget when he boycotted planning committee for two years too... I just can't wrap my head around the loyalty for him from some people. He lacks fundamental intelligence, IMO.

That's enough for me. I don't need a head landlord in charge. Maybe he's a push with Brown, I don't know. Tweel is worst.

No surprises there, I often see Mayor Clown and his disciples Jay walking in the downtown core. Although could be worse, it could have been 1970's City Taxi Hair Grease Greasy Doug Currie walking the streets of Charlottetown inebriated. Charlottetown used to be clean and well maintained. What happened? Comments welcome.

Mitch Tweel haunts Charlottetown much like Pennywise haunts Derry.
