Kids thrift shops --

We barely have thrift shops as is - but for kids is almost non existent.

I just saw that the location for Little Loves is up for rent and its empty - didnt someone else buy the business out from the original owners? Did they close already?

Can we just get a Once Upon A Child here finally 😅

Furnace oil delivery options

Is 400.00 now the minimum you need to spend now for home delivery??? Or is there a company that will deliver for less. It's going to be a tough year for so many if so, especially if going to fill up cans on your own is not an option.

Most people are very aware of the heating program, but like so many it's once per year that you received the help last. For those that received help in January or February 2026, they will have to wait until January and February 2027 to receive help again.

Charlottetown Mayoral Candidate - Ticketed for passing school bus...

Word on the street is that Mitch Tweel has been ticketed for passing a school bus with its red lights flashing. The incident occurred last week... but haven't heard it officially reported yet.

Not a positive campaign move, to say the least!

Seagull Bakery - other new gems?

Someone posted about this spot a while ago, and today we made the trip out. WOW! Worth the trip. I'm so grateful for small businesses on the Island that offer new, creative ideas and a quality product. The Seagull menu is small (and can we not call a sandwich a "sandy") but the food quality was solid.

Tell me more NEW (or newish) spots that I should try!

Exterior carpenter recommendations

Hoping to have a few things done around the house before winter sets in. Can you suggest who'd be available to build a set of wooden porch steps, install a storm door, and replace some vinyl siding trim pieces? Thanks in advance!

It’s created by the people who published the PEI Cooks at Home cookbook, the PEIgoodeats FB group and the home cooking columnist for the Graphics newspapers (me lol).

Need android and iphone users. No charge to be listed or to use it. We’ll get sponsors to help pay the bills.

We’ve been working on this for 10 mos. Doing it to help visitors, Islanders, producers, hospitality industry and home cooks.

Selfpost 2017 scotties still looking for volunteers

Apparently the 2027 scotties are still looking for people. Where as the canada games had plenty of volunteers. Why do you think they are still looking?

My 2 cents is 2 main things.

  1. You need to pay $100 just to apply for a volunteer rewards fee which I'm sorry thats not a reward. And do you even get that money back if your not selected? Enough islanders are living pay check to paycheck and cant afford an extra hundred just to apply. Look at the canada games. They didn't have a fee and those volunteers got lots of stuff.

  2. There's not a big interest in curling (i mean there is) but if the charlottetown curling club couldn't afford a new refrigeration plant id assume their numbers wernt the greatest. And you would need to either really like curling or like volunteering just to do it.

But id love to hear your thoughts

Time Share in PEI?

Posting on behalf of my elderly parents who want to spend 3-4 months a year in PEI. Only in the fall/winter. They want to be home during the summer months. Both are retired and want to be close to their grandkids in PEI. They are looking at renting a condo for an entire year.

They've stayed in airBnB's but like having their own space and airbnb is pricey when you stay for 4-5 weeks at a time.

Does PEI have anything like a timeshare in the Charlottetown/Stratford area?

I'm also curious if anyone goes away for the winter and would be interested in something like this.

Anyone know why Tyson’s murderer is in court tomorrow. I know he is supposed to be released in November but they don’t typically bring someone in unless there are new charges.

PSB Help

How do you get a response from PSB?

I’ve been trying to get answers from PSB, but my calls and emails haven’t been returned, and I haven’t been able to arrange a meeting. What’s the best way to get a response? Is it reasonable to go to an office in person, or is there another route I should try first?

I’m looking for practical advice from anyone who’s dealt with this. Dealing with bullying of my child and my childs safety at this point. School will only do so much. It shouldn't be this hard to get answers
