Question public skating in charlottetown

does anyone else wish there was more time to public skate in the evening? id love to go but im normally at work during the current time slots, as im sure most are. i understand the evenings are prime time but im suggesting 9-11pm.

it would be nice to have more recreation options in general.

I don't recall weekday evening public skate times ever being a thing. I know UPEI used to have a Sunday evening skate in the secondary rink, but that probably stopped years ago.

Sadly evening skate times probably won't be a thing again. I think even with Simmons reopening, there's still a chronic shortage of ice times for youth/rec/senior hockey, figure skating, etc.

My best advice would be going to some of the outdoor rinks during the winter period.

thats the plan in the winter, there are a good amount of times throughout the day which is nice for some folks. i know a good number of people my age who would love a late night skate say even from 11-1.

Once winter hits the outdoor rinks are open in the evenings

Hockey and ringette will always come first. People pay astronomical amounts for their kids to play and they can't do that during the day when there is school. Ice time is getting more expensive every year as well and community skates do not bring in the same money as teams that pay in advance and guarantee that ice time is covered. Also adding, 9-11 is usually taken up by senior level games and beer leagues

thats true, perhaps another facility should be built to keep up with the demand
