Discussion Creating games.
Say in a year or 2. Do you think there comes a moment or the ability where we can make VR mods or playable games?
Dream would be to take NES, SEGA and SNES games and make them as a FPS playable game.
That VR Zelda video haunts me. I want that. For all the classics.

If you want that your best bet is to get PSVR1 and Dreams. Dunno if Dreams runs on a PS5, or how well it works. You may need a PS4 too…?
This will only let you create your own content or play what others have created. It’s not going to magically give you old IPs with VR support. Especially from a different hardware vendor :D

Well first of all, these ai generated game mods are rediculous, they only work for the split second you see on YouTube. Second of all, if you're excited for AI slop games, then you deserve what you get. Especially when you're just hopping it'll get rid of game devs.
You wanna play all these games made by people but modded by ai, but what happens when the AI is all you have left? What then? They don't make games that are anywhere near as good.

Probably not. Media Molecule’s DREAMS was going to get a native PS5 (and presumably PSVR2) version, but SIE cut funding for it — dooming it to remain only on PSVR1.
This is why I still use my PSVR1 all the time — creating your own stuff in VR is like science fiction. It’s bananas.
There was also MINECRAFT and a smattering of other creative games that included VR tools, none of which received any support for PSVR2. So… prospects for anything similar coming to it seem pretty small at this point.

Afaik it will work on PS5 with psvr1 using connector , but it's not an official PS5 version.

Well sure — I think nearly EVERY creative PSVR1 game works on PS5 with the adapter, except for MINECRAFT.
The most important one is DREAMS, of course… and lately the dedicated servers seem to be under attack, so… who knows if it’s online components will remain viable for much longer on ANY console. LBP disappeared for what feel like similar issues, so I’m pretty concerned atm.

I want to say there are a few that are explicitly not supported, but yes I'm still angry sony failed to release dreams for PS5 officially and psvr2.

Robinson the journey. There are others that have issues.
Astrobot isn't technically supported with a PS5 controller but it runs :).

No. Best option is Flat2vr, they've been working on some titles. For vr mods you gotta get a pc. A good one too.

There’s dudes jailbreaking ps5’s and other dudes modding psvr2 to hook up wirelessly. People working on connecting a quest to a ps5.
So who knows? But not endorsed by Sony anyway. Get the pc adapter if you feel the need for the really wacky mod stuff.

Yes eventually we won't need devs anymore. Just hardware. We're getting into a point where you just ask what game you want to play and AI will do it for you. Just look what the modder scene has done for VR with the AI help.
AI modding is accelerating so fast it's just a matter of time every game will be playable in VR. Also eventually with the jailbreak PS5 PCVR games will start to show too.

We're seeing all kinds of crazy things on PC. QuestRetroDepth can render SNES and Mega Drive (Geneses) games in 3D VR on Quest. Dolphin VR Redux emulator is able to put later 3D Nintendo games in 3D VR on PC.
