There is a version of the Carolina Panthers that anyone in this subreddit is well familiar with. We are playing against a team where, for once, we are expected to win. They are starting a backup, their O-line just lost a team legend, on their fourth string RB, have very little depth at WR, etc.
That’s the game we lose. The backup QB has an impressive game that gives national media “QB BATTLE IN PHILLY” controversies going. Meanwhile, we disappear and stumble back into mediocrity with slight slashes of hope.
In an alternate reality, we do exactly what we should do. Sure, they have a solid defense but we have a good offense with our franchise QB proving why he is one. Our defense, while weak at corner can compensate because we have our very expensive free agents both healthy and ready to pounce.
We dominate. We treat them like the Falcons.

I cast my vote for Ron. That 2015 team was fun.

People have been wondering where the inheritor of Pete Carroll’s coaching style has been, and I believe we have him. He has effectively produced one of, if not the best culture in the NFL, and has transformed Bryce into a fully competent, confident, arguably MVP level quarterback. I believe he is the best coach we’ve seen in a long time in terms of the culture-first approach Carroll had.

Just saw the hottest home game temperature for each team since 2000 — not including some teams like the Lions who have only had domed games at home (apparently Vikings and Saints each had a season outdoors since 2000 while stadium situation got figured out)
Surprised to see the Panthers only at #11? It happened in September 2005 —90 degrees, Panthers 27, Patriots 17.
I would have thought they'd have a hotter game at some point during all those Septembers, but I guess not. Crazy the Seahawks haven't had even a 75 degree home game this century.
I don't recall the Cowboys game at 109 but it says it was back in the old Texas stadium against the Eagles back in 2000.
And of course that Cardinals game at 104 would have been at their old Sun Devil stadium before the new one got built in 2006.

There's a lot more panthers posts and panthers flairs in the mainstream subs recently. The paper bags are finally off!

Because it feels like it’ll come to two outcomes:
A) Panthers win and the narrative is exasperated that Young’s success has been shaped by a Penix-less Falcons team, a bottom feeding Lion’s secondary, and now a Hurts-missing/org tanking Eagles team; or
B) Panthers lose and the narrative of even/odd week continues, calls to fire Evero piles on, the recent string of success is a fluke.
A win is a win is a win; though so Keep Pounding and clear out the trash!

Evero takes the No. 9 spot. Here's what Williams is hearing about him:
Considered a head-coaching candidate since his time with the Rams under McVay, where he rose from safeties coach to passing game coordinator, Evero has coached a top-10 defense two times over the past five years as a DC. The 45-year-old remains an up-and-coming head coaching candidate. Evero interviewed for vacancies with the Falcons, Steelers and Raiders during the last hiring cycle.
"He is a smart, strong leader respected by the team and carries himself like an alpha," one league personnel executive, who worked in the same building as Evero, told me.

AJ Dillon out, Freeling doubtful, Phillips and DLew questionable, Etienne and Moton and Wharton not yet activated and also a Q.
Coker, Tremble, Waller with no designation.
Hopefully Moton is back at least, and it’s good to see Coker is full go.

The Eagles will be without Jalen Hurts against the Panthers, and their injury report includes 24 players. But Carolina knows better than to take Philadelphia lightly, even with its depleted offense. As one Panthers defender put it, “You’ve gotta approach everybody with respect because they’re here.”

Just got invited to go to the game next month down in NO. Been to away Giants and Ravens games, got pelted with snowballs and threatened to be shot respectively. Where will NO fans fall on this scale when I walk in adorned with my Kuechly jersey?
