Meta Get your /r/PartneredYoutube Verified Channel flair here!

Welcome to the r/PartneredYoutube voluntary channel verification.

If you would like to verify your channel and get flair like what I have on my account:

  1. Go to your YouTube channel's About section and edit the description to include your reddit username. For example I enter exactly: u/flammy
    1. Directions for how to edit your About section can be found here
  2. Post a link to your channel in one of the following formats as a top level comment in this thread.
    1. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXkf3kRpFeAx9mDCbfMS0MA
    2. https://www.youtube.com/user/flammy5
    3. If you use a different format (such as a custom URL with an @ in the URL) validation will fail.
  3. Wait, and our bot will process your request sometime in the next few days
    1. After the flair has been granted, you can remove your username from the About section and delete the comment if you're concerned about privacy. However, if you want your stats to continue to be updated, you should leave the u/ name in your About section.

FAQ:

What is flair, and how does flair work?

Flair is a reddit "signature" that appears every time you post in r/PartneredYouTube. Verification flair is not required to post, comment, or participate. A user lacking flair is not a valid reason to report them for breaking rule 2. You can remove flair at any time with Reddit's built in flair editing. The flair granted by the bot can't be edited. Verification is done via a bot, follow the directions above if you would like flair.

Why is the flair channels stats, and not partnered status?

Partnered Status is not supported by the official YouTube APIs at this time.

How long do I have to wait for verification?

Please wait 24-48 hours, and after checking you've followed all the directions you can send me a polite DM.

Is there a way to authenticate anonymously?

Will the bot update my stats?

If you leave the comment with the channel link and username in your description, your flair will be updated.

My stats are low!

The bot is only able to see your channel's public subscriber count and public total view count. If you have hidden videos, these views will not be reflected.

Can I verify with multiple channels?

Not at this time.

Is there a minimum channel size for verification?

No.

How can I remove my flair?

Yes, you can remove the flair via Reddit.

Finally hit $1k/month

It's been 11 months since implementing my new strategy and I've consistently made over 1k per month for the last 3 months, a little earlier than I anticipated and with less videos than I expected. How-to niche. I'm moving into affiliate marketing and hoping to someday hit $10k per month. If I can hit an audience with sponsors and affiliates, I may be able to get there in another 2 years assuming AI overviews don't render YouTube how-to videos obsolete

Question / Problem How to remove automated Product Links?

• Upvotes

Accidentally turned on the shop feature for my channel and it auto tagged a bunch of products in my videos- products I’m actually critical of and am NOT trying to send my viewers to go buy. I automatically turned off the auto tagged feature but the products are still there tagged in my video. I went into edit to see what products were tagged and it says none- but when I go to watch my videos, the products still show up.

Any idea how to get rid of them or exit the shopping affiliate program?

ETA: figured it out. Even though no products were listed as “tagged” under the video details, the products were still showing up in my videos. I turned off the “automatic chapters” and “automatic concepts” feature on the videos with “products” and they disappeared.

Question / Problem Earn tab in YouTube Studio says I need to verify my identity, but AdSense says it’s verified. No box to enter a PIN and no PIN in the mail

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hi all, I recently joined the YouTube Partner Program and I think I crossed the verification threshold (around €10, according to the AdSense FAQs). Today an "Action required: Confirm your personal information" card appeared in the Earn tab in YouTube Studio. I think it was triggered by crossing €10 in earnings.

But when I click Get started, nothing happens, and there’s no indication that I need to do anything on the AdSense side. In AdSense for YouTube under Payments > Verification check, it says Identity Verification: Completed, and there’s no field to enter a PIN (screenshot attached).

I also just realized the PIN is sent as a physical letter, so maybe I just need to wait for it to arrive?

Sorry, I’m a rookie and worry about every little thing. Any advice appreciated!

Question / Problem Channel feeling dead and it’s breaking my spirit

I really need some advice. Your responses really would be appreciated. Instead of growing with consistent views, so many of my videos from the past 6-8 months are barely breaking 250-400 views anymore. For some context:

I have a gaming channel that’s around 4 to 5 years old now with around 300 videos, monetised for nearly 3 years I think. I have just under 3000 subscribers, and recently passed 1 million views… But it feels like barely any of my recent videos ever get many views except for the odd occasion. It breaks my spirit because despite it making a bit of money and getting some decent overall views from the entire library, (around 40k hours a month), I make videos in the hopes that people watch them and we can also connect and chat, etc. The channel feels a bit lifeless.

I got to a point here I considered 1000 views on a video to be a success, and I started getting more 5,000s and some 10,000+ with a few really big performers, but this is killing me… 300 views, 130 views, 260 views. Some old performers are still performing day after day, but this is breaking me. The biggest misconception I had was that as I got more subscribers, my videos would have a higher consistent floor of viewers - but honestly it feels more like people subscribe and then forget the channel exists, as so many views are from new viewers.

Where I know I could improve: I haven’t picked a hard sub-niche, and I know that I experiment with formats and video concepts too much, so my content isn’t a consistent format for returning viewers. I possibly tweak and update thumbnails and titles too much. I really need some advice, I feel like i want to throw in the towel because I love it but it’s a lot of work and energy and it sucks to feel like it’s not really going anywhere.

Talk / Discussion Are YouTube SEO tools actually worth paying for?

I don't get why people pay $20–50/month for tools that basically suggest titles, keywords and descriptions lol.

Feels like half of that stuff is already available for free.

Am I missing something or are these tools just overpriced?

It makes no sense how content like this is monetised

Post image

This guy literally just puts his face in the lower left corner and plays the content of the youtubers hes compiled with no edits whatsoever. If this type of content is actually monetised i might have to start another channel and do this too 🤣

Question / Problem Risk of violating Reuse policy for using my own footage in a 2nd channel?

I have a monetised main channel (walking videos / street ambience) with 600+ videos, with maybe 2-3% of the footage that is close-ups of food / street food cooking.

I intend to start a second channel that focuses on food, reusing the same 2-3% footage from the main channel.

Would I be penalised for reusing the footage?

Talk / Discussion New shorts bonus program

Post image
40 Upvotes

So all over twitter right now is the new news of youtube rolling out a shorts bonus program that offers youtube partners extra money for posting a certain amount of shorts each month. It’s only invite only & in select countries. I was just wondering if this is only for youtube partners who already post shorts or can long form creators who don’t post shorts also be invited? I’m a long form creator and don’t post shorts but I feel like it’d be kinda unfair for this to be only for creators who post shorts. What do you guys think?

Series Review Monetisation

I’m making a review of a CBS series and wanted to hear about your experiences with copyright in this niche.
My videos use full-screen clips, generally 5–10 seconds long (most are on the shorter end), with slowed-down series clips and After Effects edits to break things up. I try to space everything out to avoid copyright claims.

I’ve noticed that many creators in this niche put their clips in a smaller box with a background. Is that actually necessary, or can full-screen clips work with enough editing and commentary?

What has your experience been with copyright claims, Content ID, and monetization on this type of content?

Informative The channel I edit for just crossed 257M lifetime views — retention lessons that actually worked (screenshot inside)

Screenshot is from YouTube Studio — 257M lifetime views on a channel I've been editing for. It's been a long road, so I wanted to share the retention lessons that genuinely moved the needle, in case it helps anyone here:

  • The hook is 3 separate decisions: the title gets the click, the first 3 seconds stop the swipe-away, and the first 30 seconds make the promise. Most people only optimize the title.

  • Captions aren't optional anymore. A huge share of watch time happens on mute or low volume. Word-by-word animated captions (not static blocks) hold attention measurably better.

  • Cut the "YouTube voice." That slow, over-enunciated creator voice kills retention. We edit for conversational pace — if a sentence can be said faster without losing meaning, it gets tightened.

  • Pattern interrupts every few seconds. Doesn't mean flashy effects — a camera angle change, a relevant b-roll clip, on-screen text emphasizing the point. The brain needs novelty to stay.

  • Endings that loop back. Videos that reference the opening in the last 20 seconds get rewatched more, and rewatch rate is a quiet ranking signal.

Biggest lesson: retention is engineered in the edit, not in the idea. A mid idea with great pacing beats a great idea with lazy editing almost every time.

Don't give up on the boring fundamentals — they compound. Happy to take a look at anyone's retention graphs and share what's worked.

Is this considered a low RPM?

Post image
28 Upvotes

Recently a video of mine suddenly blew up. 500k views in a week. Very grateful!
But is this considered low for the amount of views? I’m in the film / documentary niche btw. Thanks in advance!

Edit:

Just checked my actual rpm, it’s $1.77. I guess that’s on the lower end. My top viewers are from the US and Singapore. 50% viewed on TV. Not sure if there’s I can do to improve my rpm. 😢

Movie clips algorithm changes…

I have a channel that several years old that reviews mostly old movies, and over the last two weeks every day nearly every video is getting a copyright hit about a movie from the 60s or 70s. This is a huge change to the algorithm, allowing fair use. All my clips were very short with 99% narration and a few live clips to accentuate the point.

Right now it’s allowing me to just trim out the scene that is causing the issue. This of course leaves holes inside the video diminishing the quality of the video.

This isn’t coming from any specific studio it’s coming from all Studios, regardless of who made the movie.

Question / Problem product tagging only shows my local country’s stores. How do I make product links work for US/UK viewers?

Hey everyone, I’m from an Asian country. My YouTube channel has around 90% audience from Tier 1 countries (US, UK, Canada, Australia). AdSense is going fine.

My problem is Youtube product tagging seems to only show retailers from my own country. My Tier 1 viewers can’t really use those links or don’t want to buy from them. So I’m not making anything from product tags. I honestly don’t know anything about international affiliate links or product tagging for foreign audiences. I’ve never done this before.

How do I tag products for my Tier 1 audience?

Do I need separate accounts for each country? How do I make one link that works for viewers in different countries? What’s the easiest setup for a complete beginner?

If you’ve solved this, can you please explain step by step? I’m not looking for advanced stuff, just want to know what actually works.

Question / Problem Questions about YouTube monetization?

Hey guys, I had a few questions about YouTube monetization that I thought some of you guys might be able to answer:

-How does age restriction influence the ad sense revenue of a video?

-How little money does one get when a video is yellow? Is it exactly zero dollars or do you still get a few cents?

Thanks

Question / Problem Terrible CTR After 2 Years

I got a youtube channel with 900 subs. Didn’t post for 1.5-2 years. Started uploading now and getting lowest CTR ever on the same topic and thumbnails. Im talking going from 6-9% to 1-2%. Anyone ever experienced this?

My assumption is youtube trying to find my audience again and building it up but idk.

Really disappointed in YouTube's view count update

Video / Date Views Engaged Views Ratio
Video 1 – Oct 2026 20,281 8,103 40.0%
Video 2 – July 2026 7,860 7,413 94.3%
Video 3 – July 2026 77,463 77,290 99.8%
Video 4 – Mar 2026 22,923 22,628 98.7%
Video 5 – Jan 2026 13,097 12,916 98.6%
Video 6 – Jan 2026 4,709 4,605 97.8%

Took a long overdue break from YT after 5 years of grinding and recently came back to release a new video a few days ago. What YT did with this view count update has made studio metrics feel almost entirely useless to me now.

I'm sitting here seeing over 20k views in a couple days with sustained 400-600 vph in metrics, yet when I look at the actual engaged views, I'm barely past the point where, historically, my videos hit a benchmark in views (around 5-8k) that helped me determine if the video was a hit or miss.

Seeing 20k+ views in a few days with 600 VPH was a heavy hitter that had viral-like potential in my niche. Now I have to look at these same numbers and still wonder if I have another mediocre video that missed the mark.

What the hell is the point?
