Troubleshooting Advice - No Boot/Blank Screen Pc turned on the first time but

Post image
5 Upvotes

I built my pc for the first time,

B550M DS3H AC R2

COOLER MASTER MWE GOLD V3 750W

RX 9070 16GB

GIGABYTE B550M DS3H AC R2 AM4

AMD RYZEN 5 5600

1TB NVME SSD

16 gb DDR4 RAM from another pc I had (tested)

The PC turned on, and I had a look at the BIOS, but I was in a rush so I shut it down and came back for OS installation the day after. The only change I made was to put the cover of the case on.

Now the pc turns on, but no screen. (However my monitor recognises that there is an input but the screen remains dark)

I have checked the rams, the monitor and the cable, i have done a hard reset and pulled out the battery from the motherboard too.

I noticed that gpu fans are turning on for 3 sec and then off for a second and so on.

If hold down Del or Esc keys there is a blinking green light on the motherboard.

Everything but the rams and the case that i got from a friend are brand new.

Purchasing Advice - PC Build / Parts is this iBuyPower worth it? -Costco prebuilt

I’m in the US!
My budget was around $1000 for a computer for my fiancé for Christmas. He mainly plays League but I’d love for him to be able to play some more demanding games on it, he’d also use it a bit for music production.
I would love to build one but I don’t know what I’m doing, so I honestly would prefer to get a prebuilt one with a warranty. I found this one on Costco’s site for $1299 after $500 off: https://www.costco.com/.product.4201009213.html

Would this be a decent option or would I be better off doing something else completely? Thanks in advance!! 😅

Purchasing Advice - PC Build / Parts Build with 1x16 DDR5 to start?

Im planning out my new pc build as I’m getting rid of my laptop. Gonna run 9070xt with 7800x3d but the ram prices are stupid high. 32gb kit goes for minimum $600 here in Sweden. I was thinking of just getting 1x16gb DDR5 stick to start and then when and if prices go down I’ll buy another one so I have 32gb.

Will performance suffer a lot from only having 1 stick or can you get by with this for the time being?

Troubleshooting Advice - Other More than 2A imbalance on ROG Astral 5090.

Thumbnail gallery
4 Upvotes

My card runs undervolted 0.895v @ 2827mhz. I am getting an imbalance of over 2A between the highest and lowest pin. I tried wiggling the connector and the values only change slightly with PIN5 still drawing the least current.

The max power draw doesn’t exceed 540W.

PSU : Corsair RM1200x 2023 version with 2x8 pin to 12vhpwr cable. The issue has started recently and the cable is over 1.5 years old and was used previously with my 4090.

Is this imbalance dangerous for short term use?

And will getting a new PSU with dedicated 12v2x6 port help in anyway?

I am planning to replace it with another corsair cable but I am considering whether I should also add a wireview pro 2 or not for added protection. It would also help me get rid of this ugly screen on top.

As the mating cycles on the connector are limited, I only want to unplug the cable once and sort it for all so that is why I am considering a wireview pro 2 as well.

Any suggestion will help.

Purchasing Advice - PC Build / Parts Looking for Advice on a Prebuilt PC

Hi, I was thinking about upgrading from my old gaming laptop to an actual PC. I have a limited budget of $1,700AUD, but I only plan on playing games in 1080p, and I rarely play AAA titles but if I did I would be maximising performance over graphics. I typically play Overwatch and indie games of varying types, but some have been getting a bit too heavy for my little laptop.

I know a little but not a lot about PCs, and ultimately wanted to skip the stress of putting a build together by buying prebuilt. I'm in Australia and found a PC on Nebula for $1,600 AUD with the following specs, but I was worried about the price being so low for 16gb dedicated, so I'm curious to know if there's anything majorly wrong with it that I'm not seeing?

  • Nebula N6 Micro ATX Case - Black
  • AMD Ryzen 5 5600 | 4.4GHz | 6 Cores | 12 Threads
  • GIGABYTE B550M DS3H AC R2 Micro ATX
  • ASUS Radeon RX 9060 XT Dual - 16GB
  • Nebula APEX RGB 16GB (2x8GB) 3200MHz DDR4 - Black
  • 1TB KLEVV CRAS C925G M.2 NVMe [R: 7400MB/s | W: 6500MB/s]
  • Nebula Ventra Digital ARGB Air Cooler - Black
  • GIGABYTE P650SS 650W 80+ Silver - ATX 3.1

Thanks!

Purchasing Advice - PC Build / Parts Finally replacing my 7 years old PC. Is this nimopc any good?

Hello everyone,
After 7 years, Im finally retiring my old gaming pc and treating myself to an upgrade. My current system is a ryzen 5 3600X + RX 5700, so honestly, almost anything modern will feel like a huge upgrade.
Specs:
NIMO ARENA GN7
• CPU: Intel Core i5-14400F
• GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 8GB
• RAM: 32GB DDR5
• Storage: 1TB M.2 PCle 4.0 NVMe SSD
• Cooling: Air cooling with 4 ARGB fans
• Wi-Fi: Wi-Fi 6
• OS: Windows 11
I tend to keep my PCs for a long time, so I’m hoping this one will last another 5-7 years like my current build has. At least it comes with a 2yr warranty from nimo.
Would love to hear your thoughts. Anything I should keep an eye on with this setup?
Thanks!!

Troubleshooting Advice - Assembly Orange light on B550 m wifi 2 motherboard

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

Hello, first build. There's this light on my mobo that shows up when I flip the psu switch. The power button also will not start the machine. Google says its a debug led while someone on discord says it's heat. But I'm pretty sure it's too bright to be heat (you can't really see the brightness with the flashlight.) My specs are : Asus prime b550m wifi 2, ryzen 5 5500, rtx 3060, 16gb ddr4, 1tb ssd, 500w psu,

Any help's appreciated.

Completed Build - Celebratory Geometric Future Model 03 Build Photos

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

Following up on my post earlier (link below)... Here's the build photos of my Model 03. Ended up going a little crazy and replaced my entire desk. Pretty happy with how it came out.

The case was easy to build in but it's a little tight for the monster Arctic cooler. I like the flat area on the PSU housing and have a Phanteks LCD screen on order to go there.

Ended up not using the little "shelf" due to the pump hoses. It is infeasible to twist them around for a left side hose route. The hoses also get in the way of the PCIe cables. I had to route the PCIe cables over the top of the GPU as they were too flexible and would have hit the lower case fans.

Also, It is a loud case as the back and top are entirely mesh. It doesn't bother me but this is not the case if you want a silent/quiet build.

Main gripes from the build are the old school, long af fan cables from Arctic and the Corsair cable kit. Will probably replace the fans with BioniX fans when a reverse option is available. The Corsair cables are ok but they don't hold a candle to custom CableMod cables. Probably gonna just live with the Corsair cables.

Below is the full build list, parts I'm waiting on, and some other notes:

Build List:

9800X3D

Gigabyte X870M Aorus Elite Ice

Gigabyte 9070XT

G.Skill Trident NeoX 2x16GB DDR5-6000 CL30

Samsung 9100 Pro 1TB

Arctic Liquid Freezer 3 Pro ARGB

Arctic P12 Pro Fans

Corsair SF1000

Corsair White Cable Kit

Razer Huntsman V3 TKL

Husky Adjustable Workbench

Startech Cable Trays

Parts I'm Waiting On:

Phanteks Hi-Res LCD Screen (for Case Interior/AIDA64)

Razer Gigantus V2 Pro Mat

Amazon Headset Hook

Rest of the Desk/Parts I Already Had:

Asus BE-96u Router

Asustor AS6704t Plex Server

Wali Monitor Stands

LG 34" 3440x1440 Monitor

Asus 27" 1440p Monitor

Razer Naga

Razer Headset

Govee RGB Desk Lamp

Previous Post:

https://www.reddit.com/r/PcBuild/s/npajd6fL0p

Other Note:

In the near future, I'll probably rotate in a newer ultra wide and mount to replace the old 27" monitor.

Lesson Learned:

The solid wood desk/workbench amplifies the vibrations/sound coming from the NAS. I was surprised at how bad this is. I've ordered some anti-vibration feet to see if that fixes the issue. Beware of you have NAS plans in your future.

Hope you like!

Purchasing Advice - PC Build / Parts Pc build help newbie

Hi all, I should start by saying I'd already posted in another community so apologies if you see this twice but I'm looking for as many opinions as possible! I'm a whole life console player (UK) but long time PC enthusiast (this means I have no idea what I'm looking at). I've been looking at getting a custom build PC for quite some time and I have found this £2500 after some research and support I was hoping to see what you guys thought: https://www.scan.co.uk/3xs/configurator/3xs-edge-zen-amd/default

After checking out all the parts on PCPartPicker it only comes up around ~£200 cheaper if I were to build it myself but I'm not confident enough to do that. I'm aware it's expensive and I know it's a classic case of new time PC gamer spending obscene money but my aim is to get something that will last me a good few years before I even need to think about upgrading parts, hence the cost. I want to play WoW Forever, BG3, intensive RTS' like TWW3 / Stellaris at high settings but also be in a good position to play next gen ones, like TWW40k. I would also be interested in checking out PC FPS shooters.

I know I'm asking a lot but I'd appreciate any help or tips. Also if anyone had any monitor suggestions that would be very helpful too!

I am so paranoid when using my PC I can’t use it properly. I never heard the click.

However,

- red light indicator of bad/no power connection is off

- power delivery is between 11.9 and 12 volts

- seems to run okay and normally

- I can’t see the yellow pins

Troubleshooting Advice - No Boot/Blank Screen Stuck at DRAM light with no boot four monitors

Like the title says. Recently swapped from Intel to a 9800x3d and now my PC refuses to fully boot with 4 monitors plugged in. I can get a boot with 3 but once that 4th monitor is plugged in I get stuck with a DRAM light staying solid red. I have tried everything. Xmp off, fast boot off, different monitor configurations. I can have any mix of monitors as long as it is 3 of them.

Build:

Ryzen 7 9800x3d

Gigabyte x870 gaming wifi

Rtx 5080

32 gb ddr 5

850 watt psu

2 m.2 SSD

1 2.5 inch SSD

3 1080p monitors

1 uw 1440p monitors

I am at a loss. I've reinstalled windows. Nuked all of my drives so everything is fresh. My Intel build never had an issue with 4 monitors.

Purchasing Advice - PC Build / Parts Build around 5080

So today I made a panic/impulse purchase. Seeing how the GPU bubble isn’t about to burst anytime soon, I was afraid that I might not get my hands on a high-end GPU by the time GTA6 comes out on PC and I ordered a 5080. I’m in Canada and since I don’t really have the need or purchasing power to buy a 6000$ pc right away, I plan on getting parts over the next few months, especially as they go on sale (black friday and such).

That being said, before I throw myself into the wonderful world of PC parts researching, I would like to ask for your advice on building a PC around this Gigabyte 5080 oc. Looking at playing the latest Flight Simulator, a bit of VR and of course GTA 6 whenever it comes out.

Also, a more specific question about the case, I currently have a Be Quiet! Dark Base 700 that I loved putting together a few years ago. I see they don’t offer much these days. Anything similar that you recommend that has really good cable management and maybe buttons and ports at the front rather than on the top?

Thanks!
