Received the invitation for the Virtual Interview Round for Trent India (Data Scientist).
What do they ask, like SQL, Python, and what more should i know, or prepare. Any help is appreciated.

Trent runs retail brands like Westside and Zudio, so their interviews go beyond basic coding and lean heavily into practical retail applications. For SQL, expect questions on aggregations, joins, subqueries, and window functions like dense rank or running totals, usually centered on sales or inventory tables. In Python, be ready to demonstrate pandas for data manipulation, handling missing values, and writing clean functions. They will also test core machine learning concepts, especially regression, tree-based models like Random Forest and XGBoost, customer segmentation with clustering, and time series methods for demand forecasting. Be prepared to explain every modeling decision on your resume, from feature selection to evaluation metrics.
They also test business sense through open-ended case questions, such as how to predict product demand, reduce store stockouts, or measure customer lifetime value. Walk the interviewers through your thought process clearly, clarifying the data available and aligning your technical approach with actual retail goals. Being able to connect algorithmic choices to tangible business outcomes is what usually distinguishes candidates who move forward. To build that kind of split-second clarity and land competitive data roles, my team created interviews.chat to give candidates an edge when complex technical questions arise.
