Which can easily be interpreted as me saying, I don’t feel the same sympathy for the man, that you weirdly seem too, about him being misrepresented. Especially since the quote is on brand for him. That doesn’t speak to how I feel about other people being misled or the resulting discussion. Again, your reading comprehension is not stellar, my dude, and hitting the all caps button doesn’t help you win your argument.

Because you don't like him doesn't mean he should be misrepresented. I don't like Trump, AOC, or Hassan it doesn't mean I want people to mislead or make up arguments about them. That shouldn't depend on if you like someone or not. His exact statement was recorded.

Again, even when completely removing Shapiro from the equation, the resulting discussion is still relevant. The conversation I was having was never about Ben Shapiro. Which means you’re arguing a nonstarter that I doubt Shapiro himself would care about. So, how I feel about the man is, once again, irrelevant. Either stay on topic or go kick rocks.

It isn't relevant because who is this "they" you're talking about if no one important actually said it..?

If you go back and reread my comments, carefully, you’ll see my position that this is, in fact, a common argument regardless of the quote’s authenticity. The ā€œtheyā€ was general.

I want you to find me one quote from a politician or media personality that has said something along the lines of "if you're a poor American. You should be deported" then I'll admit you have some grounds.

The ā€œallegedā€ quote never mentioned deportations, that was just someone else’s interpretation. And who said the statement had to come from someone famous for it to be worthy of discussion, especially when there is evidence that this is the general attitude of a political movement.

I've never once seen anyone say poor Americans should be deported. But I guess I'll look out for it now..

But I’d be surprised is you haven’t heard ā€œif you don’t like it leaveā€ in response to numerous complaints about the USA. Applying the statement to complaints about the economy is not a huge leap.

That is a massive leap.. but alright

How?! Really, I want to hear how you reached that conclusion.

Telling someone to leave freely because it seems to serve in their best interest, is obviously far different than forcing someone to leave when they are simply poor. It's like not even close..

Again, reading comprehension. I’ve already said that I wasn’t engaging the other person’s interpretation of the ā€œallegedā€ quote. I never said nor even implied that I thought people were going to be forced to leave. From the beginning, I’ve said that ā€œif you don’t like it leaveā€ is a common argument, even though CHOOSING to immigrate is not a financially viable option for the majority of Americans.
