But Russia supports Iran... So what now Trump supports Iran by association?

It's an older strategy, but it checks out.

Reports of many Iranian tankers carrying diesel into Russia.... That Putin then will sell to Trump.

With their reduced refinery capacity, Russia has been importing 50% of their diesel from Iran.

Buying diesel from Russia while Iran supplies oil to Russia IS supporting Iran.

Trump lost this ' war' and now can't get access to what it was before, so instead, he's bowed out before the midterm and asked Putin for some oil which he can still access via Iran and will sell for more money. Ye all look buddy buddy and he gets lower prices and then back to business. Ye have lost. Trump has lost.

He supported them directly.

He killed the leaders.

And now there are even worse and more brutal ones in power.

Funding both sides of the war. Perhaps it will distract from the trump-Epstein files a little.

I don’t think you understand the “proxy” part of “proxy wars”.

I mean yeah, but in a proxy war you usually wouldn't buy the biggest export product of two of your opponants (Oil, Iran, Russia).

This is like Chamberlin pre WWII suddenly deciding to import thousands of tonnes of German meat and Austrian pastry whilst Germany was rampaging across Europe.

Before USA declared war against Germany during WW 1, USA accepted German submarines in its ports. Germans used submarines to export valuable goods like printing dyes to USA.
