We made Iran a threat to America when we gave them the excuse to do what everyone knew they would do if attacked: shut down the strait. They certainly werenāt a military or economic threat before that, and if Trump had only not repealed the working non-enrichment treaty Obama signed, none of this would be happening. Israel pushed for this war, with the help of eager and very delusional hawks in our government, and here we are bearing the consequences of yet another disastrous, and pointless war in the ME.
The correct thing to do now is tuck tail and run. Cut a deal with Iran, because this is a sunk cost. It only gets worse from here on out.
Iād rather give Iran millions than spend 100s of billions in a counterproductive war. The only money we āgaveā them was their own money we had frozen.
