I see you didn’t actually read my comment.

I am not around men who make rape jokes or misogynistic jokes because I don’t find them funny and don’t tolerate them. That whole last paragraph about social groups and self selection? It’s about that.

If you’ve already isolated yourself away from that environment, then the next step is to find ways to support women. Whether it’s verbally or something as simple as keeping an eye out at the grocery store, or supporting women in the workplace, or whatever. This behavior stems from a fundamental lack of respect for women.

Except when I’ve tried to do that on nights out I’ve been told to get lost by the woman and often been called names.

Advocacy is hard work.

Why advocate at all of most of those I’m trying to advocate for have made it clear they don’t want me to?

Yes, there are some men that are unfortunately awful. But there are also a lot of women who look past the red flags as well and make excuses.

I suppose I don’t understand what you mean. Nearly every woman in here is saying they need men to be advocates. Not a knight, not a rescuer - an ally and an advocate. How exactly are women telling you “no, we don’t want that?”

Also, “make excuses”? What does this mean?

He’s never advocated for anyone. He’s just making up a straw man. Hidden profile and all their comments that aren’t hidden are shitting on women.
