The result of republicans attempting to disenfranchise voters has mostly likely been with a much higher turnout. Kudos to the youth. š³ļø vote

People like to say voting doesn't matter. The fact that Republicans are trying so hard to stop the vote puts the lie to that.
The kids are alright.

Funny how these "site removals" keep happening at campuses. Totally a coincidence. I'm sure

North Carolina..? Shocked. Shocked I tell you.

I live in NC. I am actually shocked. Mecklenburg, Wake, and Guilford counties (Charlotte, Raleigh, and Greensboro, respectively) are pretty blue. Not all the way blue, but blue enough that it makes no sense for any city/town council to do this. The state has a long history of being purple. There are some serious strongholds of progressivism here. But then again, we have Tricia Cotham, who ran as a Democrat and flipped after being elected, so who fucking knows. All of this to say, I think a move like this will genuinely backfire against those moving voting sites. Donāt think of us all as supporting this kind of shit because I guarantee we donāt. Weāre just fighting the same uphill battle that a lot of our country is.

So apparently it wasn't removed, they simply don't have them during midterms but do have the early voting sites during presidential elections. It's a bizarre setup.
North Carolina is gerrymandered with a GOP that has a borderline supermajority thanks to the efforts of Paul Newby and the GOP in North Carolina, here's a fun read if you ever get really bored: https://www.propublica.org/article/paul-newby-north-carolina-supreme-court

Those types of decisions need to be punishable by law. Itās incredibly un American to remove polling stations like that in mass.

Btw this essentially proves voting works. If it didn't they wouldn't try to stop it

Congratulations to A&T for marching to the polls. More students are needed to stand up and vote against Trump and the GOP.
These students are heroes and as adults we must carry our share of the burden to protect their voting rights and to get out the vote for Democrats across the nation.

Good for them.
I canāt stand this ācolleges/universities are bastions of liberal indoctrinationā BS talking point. At no point ever in the three degrees I was awarded (only one I wantedā¦just took me a while to get there) at two different universities did any professor ever leave me with the impression that they were pursuing some personal/political/ideological agenda. Not even in my religious studies course. It was always coursework according to the curriculum, matching the course guide.
Sorry, Cletus, thatās what education tastes like.

Republicans are doing everything and anything to cheat the vote. All the dirty tactics. Should be illegal but our system is so F***ed up. Nothing will happen.

if you look into it im sure a republican is to blame for this.they hate having more people vote bc their chances of winning drop.Ā

Great job NC A+T students overcoming resistance and obstruction standing strong and exercising your right to vote! C'mon everyone, pack up the babies, grab the old ladies and just get off your asses and vote!

Do NC students vote at their university? How do they get the correct ballot (to vote for Congress & other local positions)?
In my state, if there is a polling place at a university, it is for the actual residents of the town who live near the university.
The majority of the students would be registered to vote elsewhere in the state (I was registered at my parent's). We would have to go vote back home or do a mail ballot...

You can get an absentee ballot if you go to college in another state. I'm assuming if you go to college in the same state you grew up in, then you probably have to vote where you're registered.

They can take away the Election Board, but they canāt take our will! We know what we want, and we wonāt give up till we achieve it.

Iām proud of my fellow NC people doing this but absolutely ashamed it was even necessary in the first place. Republicans are scum.

Great fucking show, North Carolina. Well done.
Everyone, everywhere, go vote!!!!!!!
I know that many places have made it (more) difficult to do so, but it's your duty to do it. GO VOTE!!!!

Good dumb fucking people should not vote

u/Stock-Side-6767 20m ago
Like students that have proven their intelligence by getting into universities? How are they dumb?

u/Eden_Company 45m ago
The majority of youth voters are republican, but I suppose they just don't go to university.

u/broncosfan1231 42m ago
They didn't lose access to voting...
They can still vote on election day like the majority of Americans have for the last 181 years.
People are supposed to vote on the same day so others don't get influenced, but I guess that doesn't fit well in your propaganda.
2
u/HTX-ByWayOfTheWorld 38m ago
What doesnāt fit in well with anyone is making voting difficult. The US is a third world country and getting worse with the asinine Republicanism cult
2
u/readitnowandlater 38m ago
Where in the Constitution or state/federal law does it stipulate that āpeople are supposed to vote on the same day so others donāt get influencedā?

The constitution says voting is the business of the states. And guess what the states decided? Early voting is fine
