Discussion This is mildly infuriating
I can't watch youtube anymore, apparently.

Youtube is very annoying. Unless you are signed-in, you will have to hop between different servers to find one that works.

Come videos/channels will be blocked with this no mater on what server you are (at least from my testings)

Ah this makes sense. This was an official F1 channel. I've always had issues with my VPN for anything F1 related.

Depending on what you are after in terms of content, ch4 in the UK works fine with VPN.

I've only ever seen that error on videos posted by F1/F2 etc. or videos they've submitted copyright strikes over.

Yeah, same. It's a very poor experience lately. Proton being detected by most streaming/video platforms for me.

Yep. Didn’t used to be this way until the past few months. I have a back up VPN that works at times when Proton doesn’t at least.

En my memberships was super disappointed with the email and vpn. Setup on my router and entire family couldn’t stream any thing.

I absolutely have to sign in to view videos, or otherwise watch them through the Videos tab of DDG.

Unrelated, but just so you know, the owner of Redact is a pretty unreliable person and creepy. He has talked about using his company to track down people he doesn't like and harass them.

Browsing the internet with a VPN these days is a pain in the ass with most sites and impossible with others, i had to stop using it on my devices and only use it to have a open port for seeding linux ISOs

they're tryng to block vpn's but it's damn near impossible...
They need to respect the persons PRIVACY.

I've said it months ago;
I generally have no issue with protonvpn and youtube (with and without premium) except for one specific Channel: Official Formula 1 Channel.
No matter where and how I change vpn country or protocol it is the only one where I get such a notice.

Please let us know which server you hit the issue with so we can document your report.
As a workaround, try switching between different servers (try different countries), or try another web browser to see if it helps.

Same here, so I said fuck Youtube.
Now I download videos from my subscriptions automatically onto my Jellyfin server, and if there's anything I wanna look up I just use FreeTube instead.

BBC iPlayer is blocked as well... /e: the cmd command solved it: ipconfig /flushdns

It happened to me. It's because the content is geo restricted. Technically it's not YouTube's fault. Other non restricted content plays with VPN without issue.
