Low effort posts could include, but are not limited to, "favourite song/album" posts, tier rankings, A.I. generated images, reposts, google lyric mistakes, "X looks like/sounds like this Queen member" posts, and so on. It also could include, to an extent, Queen references in other media..

You may share that awesome merch you just got, but no direct links to sale pages.

Edit: If you post a thread of a Queen T-shirt it may get you banned as well, because there's a lot of spam of it. But I will review carefully when is possible.

6 - No Artificial Intelligence generated music, art or pictures.

7 - No Spotify Wrapped , Playlists, General rankings or Tier list. (When everyone does it, becomes spam. So, not allowed)

10 - No drama and accusations from other plataforms. Edit: NO internal drama either please. Let's keep the place drama free. :)

This place is about Queen, not to discuss what could have happened in other forums or social plataforns. There's no way to establish truth and any accusation leads to toxic behaviour and unnecesary drama in the sub. They are usually behind alts so they will be banned permanently

Temporary bans will happen for those that keep breaking rules after warnings/deletion of their messages. Permanent bans will happen to spammers, trolls, and people being uncivil , harsh or harrasing other fellow Queenies in this sub.

I read all the reports once a day, and take action when I can.

2026: This is a mostly english speaking plataform, so let's try to keep the posts in english so you can engage to a broader audience and better engagement

Music Queen Greatest Hits 1 Track List Guide

Hello everyone! I had the idea to make this guide after having seen some people online talk about how they'd wish a certain track was on Queen Greatest Hits and in response I felt like chronicling every regional difference in Greatest Hits 1's track list.

I hope this list will be a good resource and be able to help Queen fans; new and old decide which vinyl, cassette or CD pressing of the album is right for them.

If you want to search for (or buy) any of these pressings/cassettes of Greatest Hits, they are all on the Queen Greatest Hits discogs page.

Before I start, there are some things I want to clarify:

  1. The U.K. track list will be considered the default and every pressing/cassette listed below will be compared to it.
  2. Only versions of the album that add and/or subtract songs from the U.K. original will be listed here. So, if there's a regional pressing/cassette not listed below, it's because it uses the original U.K. track list.
  3. "Some <country> pressings/cassettes" means that there are other pressings/cassettes from the same country that use the original U.K. track list instead.
  4. I won't be mentioning the packaging or sound quality of these pressings/cassettes, just the songs included in them.
  5. I'm only listing official album releases, no bootlegs.

Finally, if there are any particular songs or countries' pressings/cassettes you want to look for in this list, I recommend searching them up with Ctrl + F (or Command + F for Mac users) on your keyboard.

With all of that out of the way, here's every different track list to Queen Greatest Hits:

Vinyl:

U.S. and Canadian pressings:

Adds: Under Pressure and Keep Yourself Alive

Removes: Don't Stop Me Now, Save Me, Now I'm Here, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy and Seven Seas Of Rhye

Note: The U.S. (and every other countries') pressings from 2016 onwards use the U.K. track listing.

Australian and New Zealand pressings:

Adds: Under Pressure, Keep Yourself Alive and Tie Your Mother Down

Removes: Don't Stop Me Now, Save Me, Now I'm Here, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy and Seven Seas Of Rhye

Note: There's also a 1983 reissue from New Zealand that uses the U.K. track listing.

Dutch reissue, German Club Edition reissue, European reissue, Israeli reissue, some French reissue and some Spanish reissue pressings:

Adds: Under Pressure

Removes: Nothing

German pressings:

Adds: Spread Your Wings

Removes: Nothing

Japanese pressings:

Adds: Under Pressure and Teo Torriatte

Removes: Bicycle Race and Seven Seas Of Rhye

Note: There's also a reissue from 1987, which uses the U.K. track listing.

Brazilian, Argentinian and Uruguayan pressings:

Adds: Love of My Life (from Live Killers)

Removes: Seven Seas Of Rhye

Some Venezuelan and some Peruvian pressings:

Adds: Under Pressure

Removes: Now I'm Here and Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy

Some 1986 Venezuelan Pressings:

Adds: Radio Ga Ga, Under Pressure, Flash (album version) and I Want To Break Free

Removes: Save Me, Now I'm Here, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy, Flash (single version) and Seven Seas Of Rhye

Notes: There exists another reissue with the same track list, but it replaces Under Pressure with Fat Bottomed Girls and brings back Save Me and Seven Seas Of Rhye. These pressings also have their own separate Discogs page.

South Korean pressing:

Adds: Under Pressure, Love Of My Life, My Melancholy Blues and Mustapha

Removes: Bohemian Rhapsody, Another One Bites The Dust, Killer Queen and Bicycle Race

Notes: The reason for the songs above being removed was due to government censorship at the time, mainly regarding the lyrics of each song.

It's unknown if Love Of My Life on this version is from Live Killers, or if it's the original studio recording.

There's also a reissue from 1990 that uses the U.K. track listing.

There also exists a different South Korean Greatest Hits album from 1980, which predates the album we're all familiar with and has a completely different track listing too.

Bulgarian double LP pressings:

Adds: Death On Two Legs and Sweet Lady

Removes: Nothing

Bulgarian single LP pressings:

Adds: Sweet Lady

Removes: Bohemian Rhapsody, Another One Bites The Dust, Killer Queen, Fat Bottomed Girls, Crazy Little Thing Called Love and We Will Rock You

Note: In Bulgaria, Queen Greatest Hits 1 was initially released as a double LP, before getting a cut-down single LP version a couple years later.

Cassettes:

U.S. and Canadian cassettes:

Adds: Under Pressure and Keep Yourself Alive,

Removes: Don't Stop Me Now, Save Me, Now I'm Here, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy and Seven Seas Of Rhye

Note: There's also a 2021 U.S. reissue that uses the U.K. track listing.

Note: These cassettes (and their CD counterparts) have their own separate Discogs page.

Note: There's also the New Zealand reissue and the 1987 Australasian cassette, which both have the U.K. track listing.

European, French, Indian, Israeli, German reissue, some Dutch and some Spanish cassettes:

Adds: Under Pressure

Removes: Nothing

German cassette:

Adds: Spread Your Wings

Removes: Nothing

Japanese cassette:

Removes: Bicycle Race and Seven Seas Of Rhye

Some Brazilian and some Argentinian cassettes:

1986 Peruvian and Bolivian cassettes:

Adds: Under Pressure

Removes: Now I'm Here, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy and Seven Seas Of Rhye

Venezuelan cassettes:

Adds: Radio Ga Ga and I Want to Break Free

Removes: Now I'm Here, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy, We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions

Notes: It's unknown if Flash on these cassettes are the single version or the album version, like they are on their vinyl equivalents.

These cassettes (and their vinyl equivalents) have their own separate Discogs page.

South Korean cassettes:

Adds: Under Pressure, Love of My Life, My Melancholy Blues and Mustapha

Removes: Bohemian Rhapsody, Another One Bites The Dust, Killer Queen and Bicycle Race

Notes: The reason for the songs above being removed was due to government censorship at the time, specifically regarding the lyrics of each song.

It's unknown if Love Of My Life on this version is from Live Killers or if it's the original studio recording.

There's also a reissue from 1990 that uses the U.K. track listing.

Bulgarian cassette:

Adds: Sweet Lady and Death On Two Legs

Fijian cassette:

Adds: Tie Your Mother Down, Keep Yourself Alive and Under Pressure

Removes: Save Me, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy, Play The Game, Flash and Seven Seas Of Rhye

That's all of them! I hope the formatting wasn't too confusing to follow. If I've missed any album variations, or if you have any extra clarifications on the pressings/cassettes I have listed, feel free to let me know.

Roger Taylor's "clogs" story from Spinal Tap

I may well have misremembered the details of this, and I've googled and all I can find is the Crystal Taylor story itself....

Many years ago, my wife and I attended a screening of "This is Spinal Tap" on the south bank (possibly to promote the extended DVD release.) Before the screening, a few "celebrity fans" were on stage talking about it, then a short movie of musicians discussing how they saw themselves in the movie. Roger Taylor was one of them, and he said the day Brian May started wearing clogs full time (I know they all wore them for a day or so,) he trod on Crystal Taylor's foot and apologised repeatedly (the bit I can find,) but then wore them to a rehearsal. He kept clipping the side of Freddie's foot under his clog without noticing. Freddie was too polite to say anything but got progressively irritated until he muttered "for fucks sake," and Brian asked what was wrong to which John Deacon shouted "it's your FUCKING shoes, Brian! Your FUCKING shoes!" Before storming out.

Roger was really laughing and comparing it to the "it's your fucking WIFE, Nigel" scene. I have never seen the clip again, though my wife remembers it as well

Movie Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) - Live Aid Scene

• Upvotes

*This is just my opinion, I absolutely adore the 1985 Live Aid performance and this is my thoughts - don’t take it too seriously, thanks!

After rewatching the full Live Aid scenes of Bohemian Rhapsody it kind of didn’t really feel like the Live Aid (85) concert due to how the audience was acting in the movie and the absurd chants and singing coming from the crowd. The movie made Live Aid feel like a Queen concert in my opinion but in reality it was a mix of fans and not everyone was a Queen fan. I know this movie is targeted toward Queen fans and it gets everyone going in the theatres when it got released. Overall the sound mix in the movie is sooo much crowd noise which is good and recreates how It was in person in 1985 but the Montreal and Live Aid 4K DVD TrueHD 7.1 audio is so much cleaner and sounds fantastic. Anyways I would love to hear y’all’s opinions!

FanContent We Are The Champions chord progression breakdown

I've made a video analysing how Freddie literally tells a story in the music of We Are The Champions! https://youtu.be/ZhIAUEUn1jM He uses the chords and key changes to craft a sense of journey and he even caps it all off with a cliffhanger ending!

I’m rewatching Bohemian Rhapsody and it got me wondering: was Freddie actually that much of an asshole such as in the film? I’ve always had this image of a shy but energetic man offstage. Also can you guys point out some other inaccuracies please???

Music Wow, I've never heard the 1991 bonus remix of Fat Bottomed Girls before, but I really like it.

https://youtu.be/m2S_dfVp7vg

I have never heard this version before and it just popped up in a random mix. It sounds like the guitar was brought up a bit, which I like because I've always felt the guitar was too quiet when it first came in. I also like how they added extra banter with Freddie at the end. Maybe that was always there and they brought it up to be more noticeable, but I really like it.

Serious The studio drumming of Queen in the '80s...what happened?

Firstly, I want to say I mean this as no shade to Roger - but what happened with him, in the '80s?

I more mean in the studio, though.

Queen seemed to very frequently use drum machines or electronic drums that just lacked all the energy of Roger's playing, all the warmth and life.

How could they go from the original take of "Party" with actual drums, to the programmed mess they went with in the final cut?

Just one of many, many examples.

Did Roger go this direction or was he sidelined?

It's baffling how many '80s tracks just sound so much better live simply because of the actual acoustic drums.

What a shame, really.

Serious What do you think of Freddie’s live voice in ’86?

I’ve heard from several people that they don’t really like his voice from that time. Personally, I think his voice in ’86 is absolutely great I love that raw, powerful tone. Even if the high notes aren’t quite as good, I find his voice very strong

Toddler Obsession!

Hello folks, I have never posted here, but figured if anyone appreciates this story, it would be this sub. My wife and I are raising our son surrounded by music. He already plays an electric drumset and guitar (skills will come later, lol), and this 4 year old has been to more concerts by now than I had been to before college (mostly children's music stars but it counts).

Anyway, my wife played him "Bicycle Races" while encouraging him to ride his balance bike. He loved it. I played a few other songs by Queen, and this child is seriously obsessed now! When we drive in the car he ALWAYS requests I play "Feddy Murky!" Misspelled to emphasize the toddler pronunciation ;-) When watching music videos, he recognizes Freddie and Brian on sight... so far.

He especially loves "Bohemian Rhapsody," which he calls "The Weird One" and even headbangs like that scene in "Wayne's World." He sings a long with "Another One Bites the Dust." My wife is a metalhead that goes to see Gojira, Mastodon, and Queens of the Stone Age regularly, I am into 90s alternative... and our son is on his way to being a Queen superfan that idolizes Freddie Mercury. He even has two bedtime books, "This Little Rainbow" and "The Story of Rock," each which feature one page about Queen with an illustration of Freddie performing where he squeals "Dats Feddy!"

I never expected this obsession Freddie Mercury and Queen, but honestly... it's low-key pretty awesome!

Torn between two vinyls

So I was thinking about buying a vinyl of either Dark side of the moon (50th anniversary edition) or bohemian rhapsody (the movie's soundtrack).

Dark side of the moon is on sale whilst bohemian rhapsody is normal price

Both have a very small price difference and I love both but i have listened to more of Queen's songs rather than the dark side of the moon.

Please help me cause I am too indecisive and i know this is a community for queen but i just need some help.

Thanks a lot. Edit: thanks a lot y'all i have decided to go with Dark side of the moon

https://youtu.be/zohevZcN8Xs?is=TV-8EWo3jZS4IndZ

Hi again. This time, i uploaded a high quality version of "Robbery", a very nice demo ! I also uploaded "My Secret Fantasy". I really hope we can (one day) have a Innuendo box set, with Affairs and Grand Dame..(btw, i also have a high quality demo of Headlong and Delilah, not the one from the preview cassette, i should maybe upload that too).
